Had yourself a bargain there Andy, very lovely model! Great to see A Oakes are still going well, had my first train sets from there. Must try and pop round when I'm next down in the Midlands!
Hi mate yes they are still going strong. They now have a sale table all year round. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. All the best to the family Andy
A quick look on the "tinterweb" shows that at the time 47012 would have worn that livery and number she was allocated to Bescot then Crewe Diesel Depot, then back to Bescot . She was allocated new to Tinsley and was withdrawn from there too and spent time at many depots in her life.
Cracking price Andy. Never seen the latest generation class 47 at such a reduced price. Well done. With regard to what to run with it how about a Newspaper train using Bachmann BG’s in blue & blue and grey.
Hi, great review of a superb Bachmann loco, they run very smooth and reliable, I have one in the euro livery with the blue roof, they come to life once a dcc decoder is fitted, I fitted a fan unit and V5 Loksound decoder with a Legomanbiffo sound file, it sounds amazing! Keep the quality videos coming, thanks for sharing.
Just picked the freightliner 47 up from Monks shop at York £259 full on everything sound, fans, new glazing all in! Bargain because the chips cost £100 plus.
Nice looking model. A real pity the Serck shutters (either sides of roof fans) weren't modelled to open position, as many real examples were especially when hot weather. I re-created this feature with a Lima 47 using 0.25mm thick x 2mm Evergreen styrene, not possible with Bachmann due to mounting screws being in the way.
Hello Andy, very nice class 47 at a great price! One thing I never understood is we pay so much money for these Locomotives and they expect us to fit the accessory pack with the risk of getting glue on the loco body its maddness.
Hi Andy - That is a great bargain and well done for finding that . I agree with your comments on the detailing I understand that the buffer beam details should be an option in case you want to put a front coupling but the rest should be already in place. @tonyrobinson362
Now that is a good bargain👍
Nice find. If there on the same level as the 37 there not worth the rrp, but at that price there a deal.

A very fine-looking model, with nice detailing in many areas, especially very thin and more realistic mesh/screen work. Definitely a nice pick-up

Hey Andy, there's a picture on the web of this one at Newton Abbot, so some Western region mk1's should fit the bill. Nifty loco...bargain.

When did Bachmann start using plux22 decoder?
Normally it's a ho thing
Great model chap.
Hi Mark, I think it was at the end of 2021 but it’s only on classes 37 & 47 at the moment.

All new sound coming on the second runs of the deltics.
@tonyrobinson362
That’s interesting I didn’t think that could improve on what it was before 👍
Thanks for sharing
I suspect it won't go round your tighter curves if you fit the bogie detail, which is why they don't fit it.
I will have to look into that 👍
Soz
But I would want it to be well under £100.
But I k how that's just me.
