I think there's some truth to her statement. The meals they serve aren't very varied. They also don't get a lot of funding for activities, meals, and other things.
That's just what the center offers. I believe it's controlled by the NYC Dept for the Aging, but I'm not 100% sure. Nutritionists ensure that the diet is a balanced one (veggies, meat, grains, certain number of calories, carbs, etc.), but I'm not sure how tasty it is...maybe like hospital food.

Most of them were wearing aprons! Not everyone wears them though, and we don't force them to, but we offer it to all. 🙂
