I switched my dogs to distilled water about 4 yrs ago. I do have to buy it but saw the change after a couple of weeks back then. I had so many people think I was nuts..I told them, how do you know the stuff in the faucet water does not have problem causing chemicals for them just like it has for millions of people? One still has hot spots issues but they were not the reason..this is more recent and I am having a hell of time. Hopefully these natural remedies will help as they have helped with other things.
Tullah did not like that lol. I will try this for my rescue, she itches non stop, poor girl looks miserable and everything I've tried has not helped. Thanks Dr. A.J.
I love this my cat is itchy all the time Are use Benadryl on her because it stops the itching and I’m trying to find something natural to help her do you have any suggestions?
Licorice tincture or glycerite. Herb Pharm- sold in health stores, Mt. Rose Herbs should have this (Oregon Company). Glycerite has no alcohol and recommended extraction for children and animals. Licorice is a common herb. Try an internet search. Thanks Dr. Jones
We found most itchy dog issues could be solved by better food and adding digestive enzymes. Kibble is treated to high temps that kill the digestive enzymes. Also Dynovite works.
My dog was driving me crazy with her itching. She doesn't have fleas, so I figured maybe it was dry skin. I gave her a bath with coconut oil and oatmeal, and THE ITCHING HAS STOPPED. I kid you not.
@@erinelzey5153 I made oatmeal with a lot of excess water and then filtered out the oats. Then I filled the kitchen sink with water and added about a cup of oat water and a teaspoon of coconut oil. The itching which had been driving us both crazy for about two weeks stopped that day. (She's 10 lbs. so the sink is perfect. A bigger dog will require a different approach.)
Hello sir. My cat has this claudy eyes any tips for home remedy sir to rid it any suggestions please. I dont have that much money to check her to vet. im still a student. Thank you in advance sir. I already subscribed in your channel. I hope you reply sir.
Hey Doc in Florida we are having heavy pollen( pine pollen) my hubby's service dog Birdie is sneezing and shaking her head alot... i know I can give her OTC benadryl but one of our neighbors said I should pluck the hair out her ears ...Birdie is part shih tzu...she said she could get a infection if I dont...stay safe stay 💝💪
That would work for blepharitis? Especially when it’s flailing up, he wants to rub his eyes. He doesn’t like the E- collar so we’re at the point all I have to say is .. Don’t rub your eyes .. and he doesn’t.. none the less .. if it helps with itching from blepharitis we’ll try it. 🙏 for your valuable time ..
I have following you since I got my first dog..I took her to a new vet She never had been given expression I didn't ask but the vet did it and now Shadow has been showing signs itchy butt .when she lies down she will jump up and starts chasing her tail. I don't like it when they won't let me be with her during check up..What can I do to help her vet said bring her in and charge me again... I had a wonderful vet but I moved and some neighbor swears by here. She was more holistic this one didn't even come out and introduce himself.
@@VeterinarySecrets Will this be safe to give orally along with the coconut oil, tea tree, licorice topical concoction for red rashes in my beagles groin area?
Wouldn't the alcohol in the tincture be harmful for administration to animals? Here in Brazil, for example, we often recommend the use of propolis for several cases, but always without alcohol.
So strange- my dog got an ear infection, and the same day I saw your video on apple cider vinegar & green tea- worked great! Then today, I was wondering what I could use on both of our dogs who have itchy skin. Are you reading my mind?? GREAT info, and we are thankful, as are our dogs Rascal & Honey. ( I had to type that for them- their computer skills are lacking!!)
Likely factor for ear infection and itchy skin is grains in their food and low vitamin B complex leading to candida or yeast overgrowth. Try eliminate grains for 1 month and see if symptoms reduce or eliminate.
Just in time for the seasonal allergy season. I give my dog benedryl but she tends to need a treatment of pred by April to get her through to May when things slow down. Can she take this while on benedryl too? We tired apoquel one season and she came down with short term liver damage, so that was the end of that!
We have all our dogs on distilled water which helps but this is SUPER INFO because Summer still manages them to get itchy at times :) Thank you for all you do!
People should not drink distilled water; much less dogs... The process of distillation removes the oxygen from the vapour; which makes it no longer actual water; but just a wet medium.... dogs need, clean, living water, just like People do.
@@shihtzupuppy I give my dogs and the little sweet pregnant stray cat who I'm feeding; the same water I drink; which is flitered by a carbon block filter. I'm on city water, so our water is very healthy with the filter... If you are on well water; or another source; then you might want to boil it as well... However; Berkey, or Alexa Pure; or Life Straw; or Sawyer filters are all great proven water purifiers....And they don't completely strip the water of it's quality.

Are they allowed to chew the sticks? The natural licorice root?
no that's too much - you could get it in powder form and give a pinch a day. And for short term.
