The bread pudding I still dream about was made at a bakery/cafe in St John's Newfoundland, from day-old chocolate croissants. Yummm. I am inspired.
Are y’all stalking me??? After more than 20 years I made a bread pudding this last weekend. It was crazy delicious! I made it with croissants, pineapple rum, and fresh pineapple. I used good ole Justin Wilson’s recipe which is a classic.
I won’t wait another 20 years to make it again. 🥰
I make mine like he does except I soak my raisins in Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and no brandy ( most people do not like the taste of brandy) and I use heavy cream instead of milk, My grandma taught me 54 years ago to make it. We had to go to the milk house and skim off the cream LOL.

I never knew bread pudding was so versatile. I love how you inspire so much variety while teaching the basics. My youngest daughter has just discovered that she loves to cook. I love bread pudding. My mom made the best she would use stale Portuguese massa (sweet bread) with soaked white raisins in dark rum soo good with coffee. ❤️

Hi Erin! I've got some brioche burger buns that I was just thinking of turning into pudding and I thought of Nutella, but I didn't consider making the custard chocolate too! I only have 3, but that's just perfect (no leftovers!)

Erin has been absent a long time, so welcome back! Love bread pudding, but I've never made a savory one so appreciate the good ideas there. I do appreciate the beauty of Le Creuset, but I can't afford it, so I'll have to make do with my aluminum 13 x 9, I guess. Still wish I knew what the sickle shaped tat on Erin's right arm means...?

Hi!! Loving this! Are all the bread pudding recipes you made available? Also do you ever wrap your lid in a tea towel so the condensation does drip or is that what you want to happen? Thanks Erin!!
Cinnamon and raisin bread for base. 2 ripe bananas puree into custard base. I let it soak overnight in a large bowl and then place it in the baking pan. Vanilla sauce when it comes out of the oven.
I’ve actually used leftover hot dog buns to make bread pudding. Kaiser rolls, too.
I think that the jggle in the bread pudding could be a little like what I would expect in pumpkin pie.
Aww man wish I had this for St. Patty's- but my Bailey's flavored challah bread pudding turned out pretty good anyway.

Probably not, but I could see a tablespoon or 2 depending on the choices.
For me bread [& butter] pudding will always be to use up stale or leftover breads or pastries. All baked custards tho, 🤗🤗

I don’t need to be talked into Le Creuset; I need Le Creuset to be talked into selling at a reasonable price. I would have five or more in different sizes if that wouldn’t cost thousands of dollars. A Dutch oven shouldn’t be a bucket list item.
Le Creuset isn't the only brand out there. And you can look for secondhand items.

Why not use the lid that comes with it, instead of tin foil?

You should be more concerned about your health and not about teaching people how to make desserts then eating them. You are diabetic and heart attack among other things material and you may be a nice person but we are looking out for you your fellow YT watchers. Please do us a favor and go on teaching healthy things until you get to a healthy look. We care about you😊❤

That’s not why I watch Erin’s channel. If I wanted that, I would watch a “healthy lifestyle” channel. I’m here for a good time, not for a long time.
OH! Aren't eggs, milk and nuts nutritious? Hmm! .. And chocolate aids in releasing a pent up pituitary gland and a woman's hormones!.. so this recipe isn't that unhealthy! A rare treat IS a healthy thing for one's self respect and physical senses!
For what it's worth, I'd add some fresh sliced strawberries and Coolwhip in top of the mound of pudding! That would add a tad of refreshing flavor and "health" to the dessert. (You could even add a tad of rum sauce over the pudding, as that would make it a luxurious dessert for company during the holidays!
She doesn't make nutritional dishes.
And it reduces food waste by using leftover bread!
