This bloke is a friggen legend, excellent songwriter & artist.. I have been a big fan since his first album...still lovin it down here in Australia..One of the best Albums I have heard for years.Goodonyamate.
Eh, I'd say it more like American Gothic, rather than country. Johnny Cash falls under this genre as well. More Gothic than country. Country is George Jones, Conway Twitty etcetera.
I work obscene hours, and I made a massive work playlist for all of us, my crew hadn't heard of chris knight before, now hes by far the most played on our list. Really makes soul crushing work weeks so much more tolerable. Been a fan for years, always will be.
I can still remember when my Pops got Chris’ first album. I’m a metal head so at first I hated it. The more my Pops and I went fishing, deer hunting or just riding around together the more I became the one to pick his albums to jam to. I took to Pretty Good Guy first and almost 25 years later Chris is still one of my favorite artists. None of the contemporary pop country garbage can touch Chris’ stuff.
I have been a fan since his first album. I finally got to see him live when I was living in Memphis in 2014. He deserves to have a level of success far beyond what he has achieved.
Ah Chris , you bring a dark story to life in a way nobody else does. Fresh out of the play book of the hill country back woods rural folk of the 1930's - 40's. Roles were simple compared to today, but people worked hard, lived hard, and found beauty in their surroundings. Thanks for caring enough to sing a song about their live's to the world. Well done man ! Thank you !
People need to remember who built everything that they enjoy today and remember that people used to have a big family so the children could work on the homestead it was a hard fucking life very few folks alive today who could endure it.
Damn Man, every single song sounds familiar and comfortable the first play. Actually got to hear this one live in London, KY a couple weeks ago. Keep it up Chris! Singing about places I've been and people i know!

Man I wish I grew up when guys like Chris Knight were up and coming, cause I’m too young to see them get old. I think Tyler Childers is the only thing coming out good now, colter wall sucks.
You might like justin townes earl, Steve Earl's son. Hes got some songs that have that kinda upbeat pic style some of Tyler's do. Try ain't waiting, you might like it.
People that disliked this song, live on straight roads....
The Clint Eastwood of songwriters.

Balance brother, "Money ain't always the bottom line." - CK
Probably the most underrated songwriter ever.
