Chris and I are the same age. I reckon we've been playing as long as the other. I started in bands at 15. I gotta give it to him. I couldn't do the road no more. It's not as easy as some think. I used to tour with my nephews ten years younger than me as a Skynyrd tribute band opening for headliner bands (Molly Hatchet, Humble Pie, 38 special, ect..) as singer/lead guitar player. No way could I do more than two nights in a row without at least a two day break. The road ain't as easy as many think. Make y'all old fast. That voice is pure honesty to me. Hats off bro. I'm still getting out local a couple gigs a month. That's little victories to me. 👍🎸
At least this incarnation of his "backup band" play like they've heard his songs before. My suggestion would be to add a couple powerful backup singers.
He is one of America's great song smith's and unsung heroes. No matter how brutal i must be honest and say he has gotten old fast and his voice is very hard and sounds like he is struggling with some pitch recognition. In hisvearly days nothing moved me more than his first recordings and classic songs. A true progressive country music rebel, and a kentucky one of a kind.
One of americas finest lyricist . No one can even begin to capture the raw reality and the plight of the common american working man like chris knight. He is sort of like dylan ,you sort of have to overlook the scratchy patchy vocals and become saturated in the lyrics. He is the american persona of three chords and the absolute truth. Nashville certainly has never acknowledged him or given him the due recognition he deserves.
no better songwriter
Been listening to him since 97. One of the best songwriters ever.
We can hope Chris makes a visit to the UK one of these years

Hey Yank, I love hear stories like that. I hope life is treating you fair.❤️❤️
He deservedly needs the same recognition as dylan, and prine.
I listen Mr Knight from first album, and the voice don't bother me at all. If anything, rough voice only adds authenticity.

Chris's voice has gone down hill since I bought two of his records.
Yeah I could not make the show, but now I may be glad I did not go. Maybe he was ill?
Shit I’ve been listening to him for 25 years I’ve gone downhill since then
No, that is his voice now. Its called age.
That is what he sounded like when i saw him a couple of months ago.
I’m just glad he’s still playing live shows.
