OK are people forgetting that Stefan was there for Caroline when no one else was; that he helped her through her vampirism, helped her gain her self-confidence and independence, protected her from Damon, from werewolves, defended her to Tyler, checked up on her, that he has always been there for her and that right now he's doing the best he can to deal with his grief or are people overlooking the fact that he could talk to Elena and Alaric but he couldn't even listen to a voicemail from Caroline, which goes to show that she means the most to him because listening to her voice would shatter his delusional new life? Why is it that when Stefan tries to do something for himself the fandom is so quick to call him a selfish ass and yet when he tries to fix everything he's called a self-righteous jerk who should mind his own business? Anyway, the Caroline and Enzo chemistry is very little sister/big brother; it just really felt to me like a brother lion protecting his little sister cub and was not at all romantic even though we all know that's where we're headed.

Stefan has always been selfish from the start when he and Damon was in transition he begged Damon to become a vampire not so much that he couldn't live without him he just didn't want to be alone and when he was so in love with Elena he let bonnie mom die to protect her because he didn't want her dead. he made deals with Rebekah only to break them and her trust because Klaus had the better deal and situation for him and his needs i hate to inform you of this but He and Damon were taught very well by Katherine rather you die or cry than I
Desmond Lucas Stefan has selfish moments but he always does his best to rectify them which is what makes him selfless. Yes, he forced Damon to turn in 1864 and he carried the weight and the responsibility and guilt of that ever since; is it really selfish to repeatedly save your brother's life when he promised you an eternity of misery, is it really selfish to give up the love of your life, your morals, your standards, your soul so your brother can get a cure that will surely save him? Is it selfish that he tried to get Katherine through her suicidal phase, defended her to the group and tried to make her death as painless as possible? If you say he did those things because he felt guilty or because Katherine helped him first then that proves my point; a selfish person wouldn't care, a selfish person would take what's his and just leave. Stefan didn't have to save Caroline from Damon killing her in 1x04 and he didn't have to teach her how to be a good vampire in season 2 but he did it because he cared. He didn't have to offer himself to Klaus in 2x21 so Bonnie wouldn't have to die but he did it because he cared about Bonnie and Elena's lives. Selfless people don't have to be 100% selfless all the time, that just isn't realistic so of course there's selfishness there but he isn't a selfish character, this is a point that I will never ever change my mind on.

One of my favorite scenes in Vampire Diaries. Enzo stood up to Stefan for cutting everyone and everything in his past life off especially Caroline. Stefan somewhat deserved it. Love it. The only problem I have with this scene is Ivy being killed. She didn’t deserve it, an innocent bystander. Stefan should not ever being with a human again. Just another vampire would have been fine, a good one or even a decent witch during the time of the show. Thanks for uploading.

People rarely look at the parallel they've written, but even without it, they should be able to feel the difference. I'm pretty sure Damon had more love for Rose than Stefan had for Ivy. He actually buried Rose himself. Ivy didn't get that same respect because Stefan didn't love her. It's all for the sake of distraction. Ivy was a distraction. That's why Enzo referred to Stefan's life with Ivy as a fake life. It is a fake life. Stefan was simply doing just as Elena did when she needed to mourn Jeremy. Instead of mourning, she distracted herself with Katherine. For Stefan, Ivy acted as a distraction from mourning Damon, then Enzo took her place as that distraction when he killed her. That's why you eventually see Stefan crying at Damon's grave just like Elena did at Jeremy's. They're all distractions. And just like Jeremy came back from the dead, Damon came back from the dead. In losing Damon, Stefan understood why Damon had Elena flip her switch when she lost Jeremy.
Enzo does have a point about Stefan being a rather bad brother. Stefan betrayed his word to Damon, forced him to turn, failed to save him from Augustine or even get real help after the torture and much more.
I love how Enzo can be serious yet humorous at the same time "see, we're all still neck people". Enzo cares for Caroline and I love that. Carenzo is the equivalent of how much Damon loves Elena
Its utterly hilarious that Enzo and Caroline treat Stefan like shit for not looking for a way to bring Damon and Bonnie back why they themselves have absolutely nothing in terms of leads or anything and in the end they don't even bring them back fucking Bonnie does it. Hero hair. It was bad for Enzo to kill Ivy, but killing her served its purpose. It got Stefan back to where he needed to be - Home. Had Enzo not killed Ivy, Stefan would've stayed in his fake life. This is one of my favorite scenes for Enzo's character. He shows what it means to be a brother. Enzo did that for Caroline because he never had people care about him the way she cares about Stefan.
I actually enjoy Caroline/Enzo much more than Caroline/Stefan. I don't really like the fact that they made him kill Ivy so he and Stefan can be eternal enemies now, but at least he stood up for her. I think Enzo and Caroline could bring a lot of character development to each other.

He and Elena would've been fighting like hell to find him just like they did in S3. Stefan didn't need a witch, he needed a brain. He hid four Original caskets, he should've at least considered the possibility something was hidden in that field of nothing. Damon and Elena didn't give up on Stefan because they gave each other hope.
