SYM Cruisym Alpha 300 - Performance Test
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 фев 2025
- Today we take out the 2021 SYM Cruisym Alpha 300, mount the phone, fire up the app and do some performance testing. It performed pretty much how it should, compared to the Maxsym 400 the only other scooter I have done these measurements on. In the video I will be testing the acceleration 0-20, 0-50, 0-80 and 0-100km/h.

Take care and ride safe!
What do you think? Is it fast or slow for a 300?
Not very fast, but fast enough for daily driving.👍
Quite fast for urban riding and overtaking, in our country it's the "goldillocks" 2 wheels, not too small, not too big, good enough for long rides too.....
I have a cruisym 2018.. I rarely get over 100km.. When im cruising outside city.. So i think power is enough
U have a great content im not even a scooter/ motorcycle guy but u got me to look forward to have one , i wish u happiness
Now i found what i asked you yesterday! Its good to have it already!!!
Happy to provide :))
Thanks for the test, I bought a 2017 CRUiSYM 4 years ago, it's very comfortable to ride. The new model (aka CRUiSYM alpha) did not sale here in Taiwan, only the Joymax Z+, so we can't try it on our own. I wish SYM could build TL version for CRUiSYM as the top grade cruiser bike in their product line.
I don't think the TL engine would fit in the Cruisym frame without making it bigger and raising the seat height.
Very quiet scooter! Good ride & info. Best, Rola (Oregon / USA)
Results seems expected because of the difference in capacity, it makes sense... Thank you
The only thing I do not understand SYM are the tires. This thing shouldnhad 15 inch narrower wheels. But it looks good no matter.Very good looking.Who minds about 0-100 kmh? If it can reach highway speeds comfortably stay highway,to me it looks just good.
good to know that maxsym is faster. i am a bigger and taller rider so cruisym is a bit small, i afraid maxsym would be more sluggish due to the weight but from the maxsym vis i see you handling it well even at low speed.
Test ride the Maxsym, it's not slow, I'm also at 110Kg so not a light rider.
@@RideWithAlex My country does not offer test ride, I will rent one to try out before making final decision
Thanks for the review bro. What is the name of the app you speed tested?
It's called "Drag Racer" on the Google play store.
If you could pick only one scuter from Cruisym, Maxsym and tl 508?
For everyday driving in city and gooing on some tour on weekends. Which one would you take?
Im also 5.3 foot tall
Great reviews. thank you
The cruisym for sure.
For city riding to get up to 50-60 km/h in around 3 seconds, is more than enough. You will be the first one leaving the traffic light.
What is the name of tha app you are using for timing the speed???
Thank you.
It's called "Drag Racer" it's no longer on the play store but you can search for the APK on google.
Thank you Happy New year!!!!
with the fluttering feather nothing will happen;Do they all have a problem do you know if something happens to it?
The what exactly? I don't understand
@@RideWithAlex crouisym a has problem hits the front wing...
@@dimis1481 The one we have for testing is almost at 7000km and it hasn't got this problem, first time I hear of it.
@@RideWithAlex In Greece, in the team we are in, we all have the same problem....☹
Tell me about fuel consumption please?!
Check out this video where I take it on a long road trip and talk about everything including fuel consumption

Which scooter is faster the Yamaha XMAX300? Or this one
Haven't tested the xmax so I don't know
@@RideWithAlex ok thanks for your answer
When is SYM going to stop selling the antique CitycomS i in the USA and bring over the Cruisym or SYM Max 400? Everybody else gets them. I am giving up on waiting for them. The new tech Yamaha 300 with ABS is looking real good.
It's a real shame Sym USA doesn't bring the big moddels in, I think the cruisym would do well in the states.
As a Vegas resident I'd be happy just to see any SYM in stock.
The choices, or lack thereof, for scooters above 50cc here have been pitiful for way too long. Sure the dealers have had scooters like the Honda Metropolitan and Ruckus, which for some reason now seems to be in almost unlimited supply after being scarce the last few years. But other than the Burgman 200/400, Vespas, Zuma, and occasional sighting of an Xmax, there's hardly anything above 50cc. I'm lucky to have a Genuine/Sym/Lance/Kymco dealer near me. But apart from a couple 170's (Buddy and Hooligan) that will probably get snatched up as I write this, they only have 50's and ordering/shipping a bike like the Citycom would probably take at least a month.
It's just sad how the "scooter stigma" is embedded into Americans. Otherwise we'd have way more to choose from...heck Honda and Yamaha might even have the confidence to bring the ADV 350, X-ADV, and TMax here. I mean, ride or drive whatever makes you happy, but the above-50cc scooter is sadly heading toward being less than an afterthought because not only would people here "not be caught dead" on a scooter, but those who get their motorcycle license and are honestly curious about scooters never commit to buying one.....they fear the opinions of people who don't matter.
It is weird. These big scootes would sell like hotcake in US.They are big, have good power.
Have you test it for top speed?
About 135 on the GPS
kymco x town faster better?
Haven't had the change to ride the x town yet :(
Hey, can you please put here a link to the bar that your phone is sitting on?
Sure: www.aliexpress.com/item/4000864760388.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.1a2627e0WSZP7t&algo_pvid=0690a2cf-7958-4445-92ea-eef0f6f33767&algo_exp_id=0690a2cf-7958-4445-92ea-eef0f6f33767-13&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2210000009724295138%22%7D
This will fit the cruisym and the joymax
@@RideWithAlex thank you so much
Thanks for your performance test videos. What's the name of the app you're using and the app settings ?
The app is called "Drag racer"
@@RideWithAlex Thanks, I think I used it in the past, but got inconsistent results. I will give it another try (maybe the app has improved meanwhile). What are your settings (on or off) for:
- High accuracy
- GPS correction
@@vincent2167 High accuracy always on and no GPS correction. Now I know the results aren't exact, that is why I always do at least 2 runs and also I do them to compare between scooters that's why I will use the same phone with the same app, at least we can see the differences between the different models I get to test. I the future I would like to buy a VBox that is calibrated and I can have proper scientific measurements but that is the future :D
@@RideWithAlex Thanks for providing your app settings. High accuracy on and no GPS correction definitely give the most accurate results !
I did further tests with the app and my scooter (XMAX 250) and I am now getting very close values compared to a professional review of my model.
P-S: I noticed that high accuracy is sometimes reset to off on my phone, so it's better to re-check that the option is activated when doing new tests.
How's the seat height compared to the Maxsym 400?
It's much lower than the 400. On the 400 I can barely reach the ground while this I can easily flat foot
@@RideWithAlex Good to know, thanks. I am 1,68m or 5'6" and had the same experience with the 400 and discarded it for that reason. The 600 was much lower and felt great but it's too big for the city. The 500 was acceptable. Too bad for the 400, which is my favorite design- and performance-wise.
At 100kmh real speed, how much you had on the dashboard…?
5-10kmh diferences
About 110, Sym usually are 10kmh over the real GPS speed
the phon holder??? where can i get it?
It's a special bar you can put on the cruisym or the joymax m.aliexpress.com/item/4000864760388.html?trace=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail&spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.1a2627e0WSZP7t&algo_pvid=0690a2cf-7958-4445-92ea-eef0f6f33767&algo_exp_id=0690a2cf-7958-4445-92ea-eef0f6f33767-13&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2210000009724295138%22%7D
@@RideWithAlex thank you! i orderd to my cruisym. did you need to adjust the windshield hair?
@@ronisteinlauf6641 for long distance trips I like in the high position and for city in the low, but you have to experiment what works for you
👍😎
fuel consumption ?
3-4l/100km depends how you ride it
Hi my friend, thanks for the video, can you test it without top case please?
👍
I did afterwards because I thought it might have affected the result but it was the same. The top case was empty anyway.
@@RideWithAlex the last element to compare would be the consumption, you would have covered all the topics 👍
@@abbassikhalil6753 from experience it depends on the rider and how economical he rides, usually the 400 uses the same amount of fuel if it's ridden the same as the cruisym but if you ride hard then the 400 can drink about 10-15% more fuel but you get more speed.
You really believe in numbers dude 😉 but why my 185cc bike faster ?
It weighs about 80kg less :)
Other vids on RUclips they do 0-100 in just over 7 seconds.
Gps? Or speedometer?
It’s broken, definitely an issue with that bike. There is no way something with that power to weight ratio should take that long to get to 100kph.
It's not broken :))
No,I think this thing should take normally 11 seconds to get to 100 kph.
It weights 196 kg,which is pretty heavy, with only 26 HP.
The only 300cc beast I know is Zontes M310.That thing is brutal quick for a scooter.
In the video every time reach 115km, not 100km 🤓
I go by GPS speed, not indicated speed
@@RideWithAlex oooh your are right, so sad that SYM fakes the speed on dashboard
@@willito6969 it doesn't fake, and it's not just Sym, all manufacturers add 10% to the speedo reading, all modern bikes I have ridden have the same 10% offset in the speedometer. They do it for safety reasons.
@@willito6969 jesus do you even drive? did you ever had licence either car or a bike?
My x max 250 is faster.wow
What i dont like about all Taiwan scooters is speedometer is not accurate at all its 100 on gps but 120 on the speedometer why they doing this? In my car the speed 100% accurate
All modern motorcycles have a 10% differece between indicated speed and real speed.
