I Saw 700 Homeless People In A Single Day

- The things I saw on American sidewalks are absolutely tragic.
If you’ve been following along with California’s implosion, you’re aware of the disaster happening right before our eyes. For the first time in the state’s history, California had a population decline. It’s getting more lawless here, and there are lots of bonehead decisions being made in Sacramento.
Add in the high cost of living, and tens of thousands of sensible families have had enough.
But there are lots of new people moving here too. Many of them are here on California streets.
In this video I’m going to show every homeless person and tent I saw while on a month-long road trip throughout California. The total number of tents and homeless people I saw was 702. I counted them - shot by shot.

The best video on this topic!
They don’t have friends and family who care. I don’t have a soul. No one would know if I died. No one would care, so don’t assume everyone has someone
They may have friends and family - just not any who are willing and able to help. No matter how much you care, people have to want to help themselves. Otherwise, they just drag you down with them.
@@amicaaranearum totally missed my point. It never occurs to people that you can be the last one left standing in your family. And if you think I don’t have friends it’s my fault again a misconception. Some of us are just plain unlucky or too gullible in life. I’m not playing the victim card. Totally accountable for my actions and blame myself
Some people are disconnected because their families have given up on them. Drug use mostly.
I completely understand and I have no one and the only reason why I have a roof overhead (RV) is due to my father’s passing. It’s not easy, especially when you are on your own.
It is not true that there is always family that does not care. Families can’t always control peoples addictions that lead to homelessness.😮
The government would rather give billions to other countries than help solve this problem.
The government caused the problem. It's all part of the nwo plan.
@kayeb7809 I agree with your comment and would like to add that the government has already thrown millions upon millions of dollars to help _"solve"_ homelessness, but most was to *pay high salaries of consultants* and wasted the rest. I can't believe that we do not have anyone with enough brains to figure out a comprehensive plan to help all levels of homelessness. I've had numerous conversations with friends, including brainstorming sessions, and our ideas sound way better than those professionals that were hired to do the job. It's sad to think that the homeless adults were once kids who maybe had dreams, or even if they came from bad homes, aspired to do something better in their lives. Such a tough thing to solve.
Nearly $60 Billion has been given to Ukraine, they might have used the same money for Homeless ness or any other activity which makes people stand in their life and earn living!
Adding Millions More unskilled into the US that cant even speak english is adding fuel to the fire
Yes but they already have billions to these cities, it's all squandered.
Those people with vans , nice cars and decent older RV’s aren’t poor losers. They are middle class decent people who can’t pay $3000 - $4000 @ month for an apartment rental. GREED has taken over the USA.
this is the worst inequality seen since the 1800s things are out of balance for sure
BlackRock and Vanguard have taken over the USA.
That is the only thing that they have.
As long as there are more people wanting an apartment than apartments available there will be higher rents, the fact that people
WILL pay $3,000 to $4,000 is an indication of the market price, if that price was too high, the units would be vacant, that's how markets work. Apartment owners are no more greedy than you or I.
@@JohnRinNoHo that is not why rents are high people have to live somewhere and that is the reason inflation is reflected there the most
Many people are only a Paycheck or two away from Homelessness. Nick, Thanks for your efforts & insights bringing this Nightmare to light.

@@metalmike570 you know there are all kinds of federal funds devoted to "helping the homeless" while the problem continues to get worse. Where is that money going? I'm sure California gets a shit ton of money. It's going in some one's pockets
@@ey67First off, absolutely F off with cApiotILism cAuseD tHIS sh*t
Sure, the hard hitting capitalism that plagues commiefornia. lol. Nooot policies. Open borders. crazy high regulations. All the things common sense would (should have) have dictated policies were ignored due to PC woke liberalism cultural marxism. Now your liberal socialists at the top are pocketing the money that could help these people. Welcome to communism, where you're equal if you're in the top 1%. (cough, cough *gavin newsome* cough).
The state of CHOP. Please God, let most of these people be the sons and daughters of people that voted for this the last 50 years.
Don´t forget when you see this: your goverment ALWAYS have money for wars but not for the own people.
There is tons of money spent for the people of the USA. Take my mom as an example. She's poor - lives on social security of 700 a month. She gets food stamps and FREE medical care. She had a stroke a few years back, stayed at the hospital a few days, got seen by about a bajillion doctors. Had an ambulance ride to the hospital. Final bill? 0 dollars. First rate care in a country that has the best medical care in the world (if you have access to it), for free. This kind of thing costs America a lot of money - it's money that we tax payers pay for "our own people." The issue isn't that we don't pay money for our own people - we quite clearly do. The issue is... how much are we willing to pay? Do we want to give every drug addicted degenerate a free home? Maybe you do, but I don't. Have you ever known any drug addicts? They are black holes for your sympathy and your help. You can help a drug addict and they will still rob you blind behind your back. And there will always be excuses. Until the mental health and drug addiction are addressed (probably by force), there is no helping a lot of these people. You can throw money at the problem and watch in dismay as it just gets worse.
One of the things I hate about California...they've somehow made it easy for companies to come in and make former senior communities into housing for all and the seniors no longer have reasonable rent. California is greed.
Unfortunately the typical 9-5 day job is awful in America. There’s toxic work environments and very high turnover rates almost anywhere you go. I think that is a major factor in all this homelessness. Then once you introduce drugs into the mix, then these people are just doomed. It’s just a mess.
I agree. The problem is the way the society is, like it pushes people, they are drained and try drugs to relax and then they get used and it is getting only worse because the real problem is not solved
You have to find a job that isn’t too stressful for you with less toxicity. I found mine

@@jammiesgma Yep. I've known a lot of people with kids who become junkies. You can see how hard it is. The folks WANT to help, but they know that anything they do is just enabling the junky in their degenerate lifestyle. IT's better not to help. It really is heartbreaking. People need to get it through their thick skulls: a lot of these folks (not all, of course) ARE NOT GOOD PEOPLE. Lots of criminals, drug addicts, etc. I think some of them could reform, but they have to want to. They don't want to.

Nick thank you for exposing homelessness. I am a senior citizen and was homeless for a short time, but it was scary. I pray alot and believe God sends good people in our path who truly care. 🙏🏼💕
It's not just CA. Here in the Denver area, they spend over $250,000,000 per year on homeless services while at the same time property tax assessments are going up 40% on average. The government will tax some people out of their homes only to turn around and spend tax dollars on those they made homeless.

I was lucky to have family that helped me when I was laid off during the 2008 recession. I was 55 and couldn't find employment where I lived. I was able to find employment while staying with family in a small town. But, it was 1/3 of my original salary.
Without family I would have ended up homeless.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻And since 2020👉Just think of those who lost what they reacquired after 2008 only to lose it👉and their kids who most likely will never know what owning a house is like!…

It's important to have family....it important to change careers too.
These same problems were happening in the mid 90s in Ohio, West Viginia...but most of those people are set to stay in hometown while it goes to crap. Of we didnt have RUclips to show the poors.
The only reason I wasn't 'homeless' during that recession was because I bought my ranch cash in 2002. Many folks around here were not so lucky because they bought into the "2% down w/ balloon payments in 5 years. They lost EVERYTHING...Kicked out, on the street. There's a lot of suffering in being homeless that people don't see... it's a hard life.

Have you ever been homeless?
I understand how heartbreaking it is to see this happen to our fellow Americans. But we must take a close look at the policies that enable people to slide into this terrible way of life. We must enforce vagrancy laws that are still on the books of many cities. We must also understand that misplaced empathy e.g. allowing people to live this way and feeling sorry for them only exacerbates the problem. I believe the homelessness problem in this country is reaching a level of self-sustainment and growth. If we don't take action and stop the policies in our liberal cities that enable this problem, it will become more ubiquitous and unsolvable.
Yeah. This is third world level living. How did we ever get to this point. California used to be the promised land.
Right under the nose of the worst governor ever...GAVIN NEWSOM.

We have a place in Lubbock, TX that used to be called Tent City. They've replaced the tents with those tiny houses. It's called Grace Campus now. I think the tiny home setup is a very dignified way to house people. Your ideas are gold. There are ways to make things better but I'm afraid there is a very malignant ulterior motive going on that has to do with depopulation. I think they want these people to eventually kill themselves, even those who are misfortunate. My heart breaks for all of them but I especially hurt for the elderly, disabled, and foster kids who age out.
Exactly. How long will it be before the US government implements the MAID program and help the homeless transition to the god of your choosing? In Canada, you can join the MAID program and shake hands with your god in 5 hrs after you signed the papers with your dignity intact.

Yes they want them dead but even with them keeping the borders open to gain votes, they still want them dead 😢😢😮
In a country like America it's
Mind blowing and downright terrible to know people are existing like this, coming from a lower class poor family in the Midwest myself, I have experienced what it's like to be homeless first hand, and I can personally say it's a feeling of complete hopelessness and failure to the point of wishing I didn't exist, luckily I realized if I wanted to live life and not be homeless, I'd have to work and be responsible for ensuring I had a roof over my head first and foremost along with a commitment to a job! What goes through the mind of today's homeless is beyond my realm of knowledge, here in the Midwest US there is minimal homelessness compared to anywhere else in the country, but it does exist, personally I think a serious misappropriation of taxes and government funds is only accelerating this issue, just my two and a half cents ❤Liked your vid as always
You are really doing a good thing documenting this!
Absolutely. I have informed several people about this channel. I also have made my homeschooled high schooler watch too. So many are oblivious and unaware about the condition of this country. It's just so depressing. We need to stop the drugs from coming in here. I realize this isn't the only face of homelessness but it is the more in manageable side of it.
What did YOU expect? Borrow $33 trillion / Blow it ALL up = Peace and Prosperity? Drugs may be a large part of the problem -- but do NOT forget Alcohol. Most of these homeless would be housed . . . if there was an affordable place to rent. I manage to be housed on $1500 per month total income -- but only because of a housing voucher. I am old -- 71 -- and cannot work as hard as I used to. I would not last long on the streets. It's 2: 40 AM here, clear, but around 45 degrees.
People do drugs to take their minds off their homelessness and depression. 80% of America is one paycheck from being homeless and losing everything.
That’s never going to happen, 100% corruption, they do not want to stop the flow of dangerous illicit Drugs into America. The enemy is WITHIN, you see!
We can make drugs.
Something has to be done about the drugs as that is the main driver of perpetual-poverty. But going at it as the user level is just not working anywhere it has been tried. The goal but be hit on the supply side. There will always be drugs, but a decent government can make it a lot less harmful.

@johnnyrocketed2225 German in Venice did a bunch of videos that made me quite shocked to see how bad the homelessness crisis is in California.
California has no intention of doing anything. They like it like that.
We don't like it. Our government has been highjacked
You need to start seeing that the real enemy is China. Glorifying drugs with shows like breaking bad doesn’t help. Perhaps the creators of such programs need a special tax applied to their products
They’re a cash crop for the homeless industrial complex. How come we haven’t seen thousands of homeless dead throughout all of the covid era? They live together in “camps” and there is no way they are practicing social distancing, wearing masks, or washing their hands. Really makes you wonder.
After 30+ years of Democratic Party rule in California, one would think they would have created utopia by now. But then again, maybe they have, the LIBS version of paradise anyway.
They only "clean up" to impress communists.
As I watch your videos, knowing I'm a heartbeat away from homelessness myself, I keep wondering how long I'd last before police contact or danger? 65, disabled, alone, in a vehicle parked where? Best I've come up with is join a camping club membership, moving every 14 days, alternating between clubsites and campgrounds. One safer than the other...kinda.
Imagine selling houses to people you know and trust, not as investments for foreigners. Thanks for showing this! Big fan 👍
In Newsome's and Pelosi's Cali it's not a problem, it's a feature!
Your environment is a reflection of your mental health. The disorganization of their spaces reflects the disorganization of their thoughts and executive functioning. Some are doing the best they can. That is all anyone can do… their best. Compassion and empathy are key.

That was certainly one of the biggest reasons we left Sacramento for the Boise Idaho area. There was over 7000 homeless when we decided to relocate. The crime was a 2nd biggest factor, it just wasn't safe to get gas, go out to eat or go to Home Depot.

The start of the video is Roseville road. The county has cleared all of that out by placing water filled barriers and huge tractor tires along the side of the road. Basically no more homeless along that stretch but also no shoulder to pull over and change a tire if needed.
Some places in the Netherlands will soon look like this too. The government has given many the middle finger. Poverty is rising.
As a subscriber I watch your videos all the time. Over 40 % of homeless people suffer with mental health issues and the ones hooked on drugs as well. The mental health system in this country is horrible. Many of these people have been in and out of the psychiatric hospitals. Rather than place them in a residential facility where they can continue getting help, they are released out in the streets because they have to permanent home to go to or they have become unsafe to live in the homes in which they came from.

What bothers me is the government bureaucrats (elected representatives) have made it impossible for a capable person to build a home they can live in. As that is the case they should be allowing and creating places for the homeless to live - somewhere away from the big cities and with infrastructure so they can live fairly decently, even though maybe living in a tent - running water, sewage, access to medical help, electricity, food, clothes, the necessities.

When people say this is a drug problem, I'd like to answer that. Around 1900 in America, there were "drug stores" where they sold drugs. You could go in, buy cannabis or opium, along with many other drugs, of course. So why didn't we have dozens of homeless people on the streets back then? Family, social structure, and yes, religion, all exist for a reason. We've lost all that. If someone was a drunk or a hophead and lived on the street, we called them a bum. There's a reason why "bum" has a negative connotation - it's because it's something that is not, and should not be, desirable.
Nick thanks for the upload. And yet all that money is going to Ukraine and Israel instead of housing our own. Not having a home is a violation of our human rights. California has so much empty land and even surpluses. This is so blatantly wrong.

The problem is more of a drug problem that cascades into the current homeless problem. Around 80% of homeless are addicted to drugs. Social workers employed by government agencies are to blame. We tax ourselves to fund these agencies. Its what we do. Like how we put cough meds behind the counter to prevent a meth epidemic. Or the smoking bans we still fund to enforce despite no lives having been saved or healthcare costs reduced.
No, we’re to blame 👉we vote these people in👉just like the White House👉that is the people’s house👉yet, there are homeless people?! (They should be camping & living at their 1st home👉The White House!)
Your commentary is wise, truthful and incisive. I live in Irvine California and it is not a problem here, yet. I think this needs further examining. California is getting very scary. Thank you.
Irvine is conservative
In 2018 we stayed downtown LA and drove by a side street lined with tents - I glimpsed at it and thought it was a festival or farmers market. I Literally didn't know what it was. *My first in-person look at it. Heartbreaking.
It's a vicious cycle. My belief is politicians are waiting for things to get so bad they will use the crisis to their advantage.
Each and every one of us is responsible for our self. My nephew was homeless for a while and said it was good for him, he didn't have any real responsibilities.
It is a very privileged position that you live in if you believe that. Not all of us are capable of being responsible for our selves, at some times, or sometimes, all the time.
Your nephew was very gentlemanly in placating your belief.
I too live in a situation in which I am able to take responsibility for my self and have even been fortunate enough to purchase a home and raise a family.
But at one point of my life, I was precariously close to ending up in exactly the same situation as these people. In fact, I was only one step ahead by the narrowest of margins.
I was blessed that I had the will to live. I was blessed that I had the support of friends and family, but most of all, I was blessed with luck. Not all are as lucky as me.
The one great lesson that I have taken from my experience is that not only are we responsible for the well being of ourselves, but we are responsible for the communities in which we live.
very well written I can tell this statement came from your real-life experience, thanks Nick for everything you do!@@davidbrayshaw3529
Illegal drug use has made the mental health situation worse.
hyperinflation and high taxes = poverty
Really impressed with your interview with Annabelle. Who would have though that Houston could be a role model for the homelessness in the USA. Bravo! ❤
That woman you interviewed was spot on. She was logical and not clouded by punitive feelings toward the homeless. This problem will only be solved when people do not think punitively towards them.
I live in Salinas California , where the number of people living on the streets I would say has probably double or tripled in the last 3 years. We are being invaded with foreigners who aren't even being identified from Latin America, the Middle East, Africa who in most cases don't have a place to go and don't have a way to make any money , the problem with sex trafficking is a real problem here in Salinas, for example on Kings st is where sex workers are seen almost all day just walking around or hanging around while the police department is right down the street about a 5 minute walk from where this happens. I don't blame the police since they are being defunded by our government and crime is being legalized.

I use to LOVE the Salinas Rodeo, it was always such a beautiful town, where all cultures flourished, and got along…heartbreaking to hear
yup. @@snowwilliams1
Same thing in Las Vegas.
Its like a zombie movie.
get your friends & family together and Do something..the local govt will NOT help You
My bro! You and Karen are a riot😂😂😂I love your vids my bro! You the only one who is showing the reality of our country 🔥🔥🔥
It’s sad that none of the homeless can work together to better their lives They work together to stay on the street.
OMG I can't understand what the govern are doing?!
Nick, what people can do?
That's America? I can't believe that.
I hope things change.
Poor people!
Everything get worse there.
Thanks for uploading Nick.
Canada's experiencing the same, Sad times.
Australia too.
Because the third world is overpopulating us. 330+ million living here, with 2-3 million coming legally every year and endless hordes of illegals storming the border. We need to slam the gate shut for legal immigration and deport all illegals. We cannot continue absorbing the world's population in the West. Send a message we are full!
FYI : I remember my Dad having to have keys made for the house in the late 60's due to rising crime. They started closing nut houses at least as far back as then. Regan simply went along with big pharma and medicating the homeless first with SSRI & SNRI's then Fentanyl and meth.
That is a huge part of the problem that nobody dares mention. That and whole industries shifting operations off shore and removing "menial" jobs in the process. Spending cuts, and the commodification of the housing sector.
People dont have to use illegal drugs. It's their choice!

Thanks nick...God bless these people 🙏
Nick Johnson I love your videos. This video cuts through the homeless lies. Great work buddy. Thanks!
Ok Steve
Lol the dog making noises during the interview
😂😂😂
@@Hewau-fj5zzI've seen quite a few homeless people with larger dogs. My thought was that they beg for "food" but they can feed a dog. I was told that that dog is often for protection. Made sense.
With this huge homeless problem, how can any of these people, even without mental illness or drug addiction, get out of this hole in CA? The middle class can’t live in CA, how can someone who is trying just to start over? It’s hopeless for them.
Some of these folks living in vans and RVs are making a very hard calculation: I live like this on the street for as long as I can, avoiding paying $3k/month to live in some crappy apartment far from work, and build up my nut. Paying $1k/month to the local shakedown artists so they won't burn down my RV allows me to save up the difference for a down payment in some civilized place.
There's plenty of housing for everyone. It's just not affordable.
REHAB OR JAIL, no exceptions,
Rehab, jail, mental institution
It is all well and good the USA helping other countries, but its own people are suffering plus they are $33trillion in debt with other countries, imagine just the interest on that,
It`s really sad to see people living like this. I think people who are supposed to come up with solutions refuse to look for solutions. The tents are an eye sore and I'm sure "regular" people are scared walking past these tents.
These people have been let down, yes maybe they are to blame but a solution has to be found to help them and bring them back to their feet.
Now our small rural Mass. city has so many homeless and pan handlers. One day I'm angry at them as I'm 71 and still work part time job at minimum wage , and the next I'm sympathetic.
New Mayor in January says they won't be able to ask for $$ at the traffic lights. Time will tell. @@lorrie5881
I would love to move back to Sacramento one day, if l live long enough for tents to go away...😢
What are the 7 stages of a civilization? Mixture, gestation, expansion, conflict, universal empire, decay, and invasion. The average lifespan of a civilization is 340 years. The USA is around 247 years old.
Well, it looks like the kids are cashing in on an unexpected early inheritance.
Mr. Johnson et al. :
Tks. much.
