This band is so good.....they are very strong lyric and musically wise. This kind of band only comes around once every blue moon...I love this version...
Anyone who's a fan of this band for their passion and songwriting style (from this era; before they lost Ross Childress) ought to check out Mumford & Sons. Same energy, same passion!
This song is my song! Unbelievable how a man could hit home! Life's river shall rise! I said! Been my song since I found it on the hidden track many years ago
Mikey girl Hidden track? I remember when they went to morocco and this was on MTV. That was before MTV turned into the compleat bullshit it is today.✨😆🤘✨🇺🇸
I agree with you completely, and gave you a thumbs up to counter the thumbs down someone gave you. Some CS fans are really aggressive when it comes to the Ross issue. It's actually kind of funny how someone can be so sycophantic about a band. I've been following the guys since their first album, I'm not some casual fan. I can separate personal from professional, and professionally, Ross did indeed have "it", and Joel does not. I still, and always will have, love for CS.
I miss Ross Childress. His style is so smooth; his solo attack is very confident and clean...excellent guitarist...very underrated. Joel is obviously a competent guitarist, but Ross had the "it" factor that Joel doesn't yet have, imho. Listen to the crispness of the notes in the solo, the vibrato on the concluding note of the solo by Ross. You can't fudge that on an acoustic guitar, folks. All the best to the current version of CS...great band, but even better (musically) with Ross.
yeah, they are definitely not the same since Ross left. I loved them with Ross. Now, I still like them, but they don't set my blood on fire like they used to. I don't get all the goosebumps and euphoria I used to
i love this video!! adoro este video, y si les parece extraño que alguien hable español y le guste esto, no lo es. adoro collctive soul, y si podes, subi phill collings i can dance, del año de no se que, gracias por subir she said!!
...but do you remember the feeling of JOY when you discovered it? I felt like I found the prize in the cereal box. It was a terrific gift and for a moment I felt like I was the only one who knew it was there and that Ed was singing it about me, and had hidden it there just for me. Such an awesome and wonderful, unexpected song! Besides, who am I to question their artistic expression? Nobody, that's who. I'm just lil' ol' me!
uhm, most of CS's stuff predates Dave Matthews... They are roughly contemporary though, so their styles will have a certain overlap. But many who like CS also like Dave, so it's ok
The 1 dislike is obviously deaf, and therefore gets a pass.
I ain't afraid of no ghost
By far the best acoustic version of any song I've ever heard. Agreed about Ross. Isn't the same without him. I'm a lifelong fan...
Wow. The great Ed Roland. Wow.
i say vent she said shine and hollywood are my fav
CS used this song on a movie once--Wish I could remember it.
love this video
They just had this way of combining grunge with 90's light rock that made some truly terrific music

Ross has great technique. He's so precise.
Said it b4, will say again -

This is CS at there best as far as I’m concerned.
I love love love this song...I do wish they would have harmonized in this acoustic version. Hey, I think I could play the shakers!
Amazing.
Oh God It's Morocco ... MY HOMELAND

I remember recording this off direct tv via VHS LOL
Ross Childress (lead guitar) simple, but amazing.. he's my idol
The answer to the question of why pop? Because we are spiritual beings living in a physical world.

@cherubini People appreciate things that are "secret" or that they have to work a little to get. Maybe that's why? :)
it's in morrocco ourzazett it's a nice place
i miss ross..great guitarist
LOL@Good cover
Damn...I thought it was some dudes covering Colledctive Soul!! Good cover, dudes?
is there a unplugged album out there?
@Ilharess84 wat about there hit "shine"?
can i have some?
Still irritated this was hand-cuffed to Crown on the album. And that long ass silence between?! WHY guys!? Why!?! This is one of your best songs.IMHO.

Dire Leon you must be really young, this was on MTV when it happened. And available to the public.
@Cassie8810 haha. *drug problem
@luvisacigarette8 Too much drumming can definitely be a problem!
1:18 - Bronchitis? *cough cough*
yeah, i heard he had an affair with Ed's wife?? I'm not sure though, but that's out of our business..he's a great guitar player.
No disrespect what so ever, but this song seems a Dave Matthew's Band song. like... even the voice is similar.
uhm, most of CS's stuff predates Dave Matthews...

I'm pretty sure he developed a drum problem and the band had to let him go.
Maybe Ross should learn to leave other men's wives alone.
