I bought the XPremium on pre-order and have had it about a year. I’ve had no major issues with it but had issues getting the rear derailleur aligned. My biggest complaint is it’s size and weight. It’s so large and heavy the folding is basically useless for me. I bought it to fold and take camping but it’s a pain to do so. But, using it around the neighborhood with my kids is awesome. I’m 6’3 and 275 and it fits me well. I have a bad back and the seat and seating position are comfortable for longer rides. And I can easily stand up on the peddles and use the throttle like a giant e-scooter. The power is great and I can easily get up some steep hills here and the range is fantastic. I’ve never pushed it to see but I’ve done 15-18 miles and never used half the battery life unless im doing a lot of throttle only.
Overall, I think it’s a fantastic bike for the money. Just don’t get it if you want something small and easily portable.

Lectric has an impressive line up. If I were looking for a pre-built e-bike today they would be at the top of my list. Any of them make a fine entry into e-bikes but my favorite is the XPremium. If they had been around in 2017 I might never have gone DIY.
A "learning curve"? Only if you don't ride a bicycle. If you're coming from an analog bike riding history it's intuitive. You start out in a low gear & work your way up the gears as you gain momentum. You work your way down the gears before coming to a stop or a climb. Yes you have to change gears but, IMO, that's a fair trade off for better climbing and higher top speed than you'd get from an equivalent powered hub motor.
Looking forward to the XPedition review. Another top value e-bike from Lectric.

I got mine around a year ago and have put around 850 miles on it. It's great on my long commute days (25 miles each way) the 2 batteries get me all the way to work and not very tired. I did have the sprocket and gear shifter replaced by Lectric and the chain will wear quicker than the hub motor e-bikes. Overall the bike is very comfortable to ride. I highly recommend getting the front basket attachment and saddlebags for the rear rack, they helps with grocery store runs.

Hi Kev, I originally bought the 1.0 and loved the 4inch tires and over all ride, sold it when the 2.0 came out with shocks and other upgrades, a few months later Lectric came out with the Xpremium with even more features and upgrades that I really wanted in the bike in the first place. I sunk about $500 more into my 2.0 rather than sending it back to Lectric and possibly them not refunding me on all the accessories I did like hydraulic brakes, (long range Battery) etc... So I spent about the same for 2.0 as the XPremium costs, though me and my dog manage with the 2.0 on our frequent rides until I find a used Xpremium in my area, thanks for the great review Kev... XP for the price is a great bike, no doubt

Wow thank you for the detailed reply. It sounds like they've been pretty reliable so far. Have you had any issues with the Lectrics? For some reason I can't find your reply on RUclips, so I included it here for others.
"Doug… I think the Lectric bikes are awesome! We take them off road. Not extreme rides. We use them bike trails and around cranberry bogs, so the did can run, and get plenty of exercise. They’re very capable and well built bikes! The Grizzly, I bought on a whim. I watched a bunch of videos on it, and quite honestly I just had to see what it would be like to ride it. With that said, it’s been absolutely amazing! I want to use it to commute to work. Sometimes I take it to the bogs, and it does everything the Lectric’s do only faster! It’s been cold here in Massachusetts, but I’ve been using one or the other every Weekend. Can’t wait till spring, to use them all the time!"

      @@DougPipersr Hi Doug!
I think they’re both great bikes! The suspension seems softer on the Premium, and it’s also a little taller. That works for me being 6’4” both have good range as the 3.0 has an extended life battery and the Premium has two batteries. They both do great on the off-road trails and bog roads that we ride!
Shortly after this post I also impulsively bought the Ariel Rider Grizzly. Another amazing bike! It does all the off-road things the Lectric’s do only faster. I plan to do a lot of commuting with it when the weather gets warmer.
I would highly recommend all three! For affordability… the 3.0. For height…. The Premium…. For speed…. The Grizzly! I hope this helps. Happy riding 👍
I’d love to know which one you choose.

Thanks. I wouldn’t recommend it for any actual trails. It had a protruding stand for when it’s folded. Humps on an otherwise smooth trail could create a problem. Flat packed dirt paths it is fine for.

Only 2 of the last 18 videos have been about e-bikes. 3 if you count talking about Schwinn support and battery warranty. Like it or not, e-bikes are the fastest growing segment of cycling. Ignoring that would be like investing in horse carriages after the automobile was invented. I’ll always cover both, but I can’t act like eBikes don’t exist - especially since I also ride them 😁
