Good overview. I've owned a 2009 35i for about two years. It's a great car that is quite unique in the market - sportier than a Mercedes SL, and more of a GT than a Boxster. There's something quite special about a folding hardtop, and the engine is epic. A common issue with roof rattling is easily fixed by adding some felt tape to the rear window stoppers. Over time, the factory rubber hardens and the tolerances change.
Had 23i for 12 years now. Faults...knocking noise from rear axle. Cure was to rotate rear spring. Roof. 3 wires btoke and i rewired. Boot cycling. Manufacture fault on the boot lock motors. Reconnect wires. Bad pin connect in door plug stopped windows operating. Rear electric ebrake motors watef can get in. Replacd those. Cam cover distorts. Minor oil leak. Replace. Had to replace brake master cylinder. Seal rotted. Brakes half failed. Had to replace abs unit. Second hand good enough. Key reader failed. Replaced that. Best join the Z forum.
Happy owner since 2018. No big issues except for some roof rattle which the bmw dealer wasn´t able to fix or didn't care enough to really solve. Seems mechanics don't want to deal with these complicated folding hard tops. (solutions I found online only helped a little and often not permanently) Definitely drive it closed on your test drive.
I edit them down so you get all the information as quickly as possible. But yes I also script out every video after researching all the data and key information on a vehicle, it’s the standard I was taught when I worked in mainstream car media. Some people seem to like it, others don’t, tough trying to find the middle ground 👍

Sounds like you're reading from a script without punctuation.................. and breathe.
