Just before the turn-of-the-century, Fuel quietly emerged with a melodic brand of hard rock rooted in eloquent songwriting and heavy guitars. 1998’s Sunburn not only went platinum, but it also yielded enduring anthems such as “Shimmer” and “Bittersweet.” Its 2001 follow-up, Something Like Human, earned a double-platinum certification and elevated them to arenas. The lead single “Hemorrhage (In My Hands)” would reach #1 for 13 weeks and would even become the No. 6 Alternative Rock song of the past 25 years according to Billboard‘s Alternative Chart 25th Anniversary: Top 100 Songs, making it “one of the Top Ten most-listened to alternative rock songs for the past 30 years.” Their music appeared everywhere from Prison Break, Daredevil, and Scream 3 to WWE Pay-Per-View events. 2003’s Natural Selection bowed in the Top 15 of the Billboard Top 200 and garnered a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Engineered Album. Non-Classical.” Their catalog continued to resound throughout popular culture as well. Daughtry famously covered “Hemorrhage” on American Idol, while modern platinum rock juggernaut Red also released their own rendition, and Hands Like Houses notably performed “Shimmer” on Triple J in Australia.

True!...but at least the new singer has a bit of Brett's style in his voice along with having his own originality. Kind of reminds me of like Alice In Chains where William can belt out the originals like Layne did and still carry his own voice in the new material. Kind of like the best of both worlds.
Unfortunately, Brett's best days are behind him. It's great that he's still performs and gives it his all, but he sang so much in his career that he lost the rasp in his voice.
Can't be happier to see Kevin miller back behind the kit. So inspiring. Best wishes to my heroes. Godspeed! :')

Refuel isn’t as great without Carl and fuel isn’t fuel without Brett. When those 2 guys are onstage together it’s magic. I’ve seen all the great bands of the late 90s and early 2000s and the original fuel line up is the best live show. This makes just as much sense as Brett singing in the doors.

Couldn't be in more agreement with that. Carl Bell is a one hell of a songwriter, even though Brett was a great vocalist that gave those songs life, Carl is the soul of Fuel's music. Can't wait to see what John will bring to the table as the new voice, who, to me, is getting my vote of approval
@@Merdicano Alice In Chains were great with Layne and Jerry. Jerry Cantrell is a great songwriter and he has still managed to make music that is just as good and you barely notice that Layne is no longer there. Because he was able to continue making great music in Layne’s memory without stomping on the band’s legacy.
Now Fuel on the other hand is just… fucking laughable. This band is beyond saving now and I’ll continue to like their early work so it’ll save me from the second hand embarrassment that is now this band.

I am not going to lie. I saw the name of the song and thought I was going to make snarky comments about the band and the music. I was very wrong. Great sound. The lead singer has a unique voice that is reminiscent of some of the greats. The rest of the band is spot on as well.
