If you’re jamming to this in 2024, you’re a living legend!
I honestly just discovered this song maybe a week ago and I seriously cannot stop listening to it. I’m learning it on guitar too!!
Hell yeah!
Hell yeah!
❤
Thank you
i will always say the 90s/2000s rock era was the greatest in music history. Absolutley amazing
@breadandcircuses81273doorsdown, RATM, Chili Peppers, Korn, Deftones, Nirvana, 2Pac, Micheal Jackson (technically), countless more
No way. 70s and 80s.
Yet metal has been Awesome and consistent since Sabbath until now
I would say it’s not the best but one of the best, half of it are the great music videos
I wish we could go back.
At 45, I have grown up with these guys. Checked one off the bucket list last year seeing them live at Redhat. They do not disappoint!
I'm from 2031 the future and I'm jamming to this!!!!
Saw them at an outdoor amphitheatre...with Stained, in NJ. AMAZING ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fuck yes 3 doors n staind Pineknob 3rd row for this , row c front n center ! Great show 😊
Heard them at my local county fair yeeeaaaars ago. I didn’t have tickets but I was slamming beers on the back porch and heard all of it. Same thing with Korn the summer after 🤙🏼
Nerd. I am too. I am a Cisco Live guy. I am 60. This fucking is my anthem when I am in self loathing mode.
Young kids will never understand downloading this on Napster
Must underrated comment!!! That and Pirate Bay!!
and limewire lol
😂
Omg remember having to update? I found out soooooo many times going to the gym pumped & instantly mad 😂

Possibly my favorite Era of music, and I'm 57 years old. The 80's are a very close second. My oldest, now late son, had a great influence on my musical tastes, as I did on his. I'm certain I will still adore Three Doors Down even if I make it to 100. His vocals are one of my favorites of all time.
What a beautifully written post. It really moved me. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know he is your forever guardian angel.
Wishing you all the very best, until you see your son again for all of Eternity.
Sincerely.
Sorry you lost your boy. I hope when the universe deigns to reunite you, you both can listen to some music again have a drink and tell him the story you have while he waited.
I love 3 doors down, but I'm very confused by your comment. Your 57, and your "favorite era of music " is early 2000's? What confuses me even more is 80's music is 2nd. 80's rock music is great, but you grew up with the greatest rock music in history. I was born in 82 so I'm lucky enough to know great music. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith Jimmy Hendrix, rolling Stones, pink floyd, eagles, Fleetwood mac , ACDC,, Kiss, Van Halen , ZZ top lynrd Skynyrd. Just to name a couple. Damn buddy without your generation of music we wouldn't have had some later great bands like GNR, Alice in chains, nirvana, soundgarden etc. Let alone the era of 3 doors down. Lmao your not wrong about them being a fucking kick ass band. In my opinion one of the last great bands, but come on dude.
I just re-read your comment. I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what that is like. Your son obviously had great taste in music.
Sorry for your loss, unfortunately this song is me to the T.47 and still a fuck up!I don't do drugs,I font drink,I don't shoot up.Why the hell am I having all this bad luck still!
The emotion this pulls out is intoxicating. This video is brilliant. High school was the perfect setting for this. The emotion 3 doors down shown in their performance especially with the instruments was just pure bliss. The vocals and everything makes this song legendary. One of my favorite songs ever.
Duck and run was another fav of mine😊
Yeah it’s incredible when you see the video and the value of it. I’m 50. Graduated in the early 90s. This is my first time watching the video and evaluating its content. I apologize to everyone and myself. I’m not a lyrical scholar of songs. I’m wired to hear the instrumental and composition of music. The flow, composition, transitions. Watching this video I was blown away. I saw myself in the depiction of the multiple times. I was the guy picking on, bullying. I was the same guy picked upon and bullied at times. It was a place if you weren’t fully grounded, you had to figure it out and do it quickly. So many regrets. But honestly. Our young are forced to do it quickly.
This song was about his buddy that was addicted to cocaine
I always loved this group Big Time and I'm 54 and I'm a Die-hard Classic rock fan and Iron Maiden,Kiss,Iron butterfly,Judas Priest, Megadeth, Metallica, LED Zeppelin,Deep Purple, Dokken,P.O,D,3Doors Down, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith Lynyrd Skynyrd, Quite riot Right,Motley Crue, and so on Iif I say the onter groups it will take me hours
The tears that started welling up right before I read this comment agree.
Still a killer hit, sad part is the older you get the more real this song becomes💖💖💖💖

Congratulations brother. That's a hell of a feat. Stay strong! 💪🏽

Awesome job brother keep it up!
✌
This song is simply one of the most powerful in rock. It's incredible how underrated this song is.
But 3 Doors Down managed to put a feeling of sadness with a unique sound power in this ballad. Incredible!
Totally agreed. Such a brilliant, powerful, and moving song.
depends what you define as "powerful"... this song is rather soft and mellow, musically.
if you're talking about the lyrics / text then yes it is deep and emotional indeed. But that doesn't make it "powerful" for me.
The energy from this song is rather weak becuse it is very slow paced.
or maybe we have a different defenition of it. For me "powerful" Rock is something like Hard Rock (Rammstein) or Grunge (Nirvana)
this song was played at my uncles funeral a few months ago, it really reminds me of him and how caring of a person he was to my family. He had addictions and had trouble around other family members but made sure his grandkids were always happy and safe, he never had kids of his own and was really never financially stable. He lived with his mom most of his life and visited me or my dad often because it was me and my dad who he really loved, aside from his mother of course. it was hard getting used to it but she is happy, he had health problems days before he died which affected him getting out of bed to the point where he cried in pain. I will never forget his voice, his upward attitude towards everyone. Rest easy uncle
What a beautiful story. Thank you so much for the tribute.
I have several family members like your Uncle, i often think the World is a cruel place at times 🤷♂. Respect to you and your family.
@@DebbieRawlingsi feel like the world doesn’t like to help other people who have addiction anymore, i get they did it but no one would want to be in their position ever.
At 63 years of age I'm the guy they're talking about. In a strange way this song helps when you know your soul is damned no matter how hard you try.
If he didn't have kids how'd he keep his Grandkids happ?

I might be loser but I will win in the end
This stuff beats anything coming out these days, take me back
Smokin some good shit and listening to this is where it’s at
The guitar riffs, the drums, that voice....amazing! Been listening to this for 20 years.
When he does that "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah at the end with that beat, brings me to tears.
I always thought the guitar solos were a little lacking... after being used to hearing Hendrix, Page, Clapton and David Gilmore.... I wish they would have taken more time on their solo's, because I can tell they could do better. They just cut it out to make sure they were a little more main stream and commercialized. :( ... I bet they might regret that now if you get them talking about it.
@@calholli Good point - still an amazing song...
@calholli Yeah... that is what i feel listening to them. Like the song is taking them towards something exceptional and then they cut it off.... I hope one day I will be able to expand on their creation.
Dude this still hits me like it did like 20 years ago when I was a teenager.

Trying to keep on keeping on! ❤

Thanks for this
I wish this was true but it's not 😢
And it comes back many years later and that lyric hits me like a freight train..
"I'm holding the rope and I'm taking the fall"
So many fucking times I held that rope.. contemplating.. in pain wanting to be set free.. today I still hold that same rope.. each and every day I still try to come up with at least one reason why I shouldn't... Contemplating.. in pain... Wanting to be set free!!
The only fear I have is the lives that I leave behind.... And that's my only reason... Even though I'm in pain... I don't want to cause pain to others
i have fighting addiction all my life. This song hit me to my swedish heart. This is what a i want to sing to my addiction to
To this day that line
"Someday I will find
A love that flows through me like this
This will fall away, this will fall away" is the only reason I'm still alive
I love this part too, man!!
Mike Walker This song is FOR SURE about addiction.
@@jamiesloan5902 This is a song, explains 3DD frontman Brad Arnold, about one of his buddies from when he was a teenager. "He was from a good family, but he just kind of got mixed up in cocaine and stuff." Arnold says that the point of the song is not him calling his friend a loser; in fact, he says, despite the title, he's actually not. Rather, the song is about his friend's self doubt, and how he internalized his feelings. "Thankfully," says Arnold, "he's doing a lot better now. And I get a lot of people saying they can really identify with that song in some way. I think everybody feels like that every now and then."
Yup the first part of this song story of my high school life senior year was seriously way tough yet pulled through
Self love, love.
That's the only non-self destructive love that you should find that ought to flow through you like that.
Otherwise it's really substituting one addiction for another. Being addicted to another can result in as much self-destruction as being addicted to psychotropic substances

If kids that committed suicide today had listened to this song before they did themselves in, then maybe the outcome would have been different. I feel like this song is about addressing personal grievances with other people, the fact that we're not perfect, that we all have something that makes us "losers". Sadness is only the first part of the healing process, but some people get stuck in it, because they don't accept this loser in them, they think they're the only ones. So by reminding people we're not alone, the song helps push us along.
A single song will never make a difference to someone that far gone.
Dakota Jacobson yeah i guess
Dakota Jacobson
You'd be surprised what things can inspire a change in thought processes. It only takes a moment to pull the trigger, if at that moment something sheds a new perspective on the situation it can be enough to stay a hand. That extra time might be enough for the individual to admit they need some help or to make some changes. To someone that far gone, everything matters... usually a lot more than it should.
Dakota Jacobson
Different strokes I guess, also been there, also know people who have been turned back and who haven't.
***** I understand. My first comment wasn't supposed to imply that hearing this song will cure people of depression or suicidal thoughts. I was just saying that very simple and sometimes even stupid things can snap you out of it momentarily and if that happens at a time when someone is right in the depths, it can give them a reason to seek some help due to the shock of knowing just how close they were to dying. Would you be comfortable sharing what it was that eventually spurred you to get some help?
Grew up listening too this band and korn, three days grace, disturbed, creed, seether, bush, silverchair,Slipknot, nickelback and all those iconic bands much love ❤ rock on 🤘

This album was at its peak popularity during the worst, most toxic breakup of my life. It was like they wrote it just for me. 💗
They didn't
@@rumplestiltskinn yeah, I'm so toxic that I said the breakup was toxic implying that it was mutual, instead of bashing my ex. Cute of you to presume to know me from 2 sentences. Maybe someday, you'll get a gf and then you can talk about your heartbreak but I feel doubtful.
Anyone listening 5/30/24 ???
6/26/24 still here
I was in high school when this song came out. I didn't really care for it back then. Now I'm 40 and absolutely love it. There's something special about that late 90s- early 2000s music.
It was good shit
For real the late 90’s early 00’s pop / rock sound is contagious. So much melody and simplicity back then.
Early to about the mid 90s had the rock grunge movement, then it faded and had Post Grunge and Alternate Rock type Rock. By 2000s Rock was ... Interesting.. it had all this variation.
3 doors down has some of the most honestly deep songs. They hit home everytime.
RIP Matt Roberts, you shall be missed. ❤😢

One of the few bands that, to me personally, doesn't have a bad song. 2024 and still love 3 doors down I saw them at livestock in florida in 2000 and they have only gotten better.

This speaks to my soul.
This song is my life ! I'm a complete loser I go to bed every night with NOTHING I wake up the next morning with still NOTHING I'm 100 % a loser every second of every day I question why I'm still alive ! Honestly I believe this song is the only thing keeping me from dying ! I listen to it and it just speaks to me like no man don't die don't do it !
How about you stop feeling sorry for yourself and do something with your life, then? It's not as if someone if forcing you to sit alone in your room and cry about how much life sucks for you. Grow a pair and take charge of your life. People are attracted to positive energy, so be positive, and things will get better for you. I was a total misfit in High School, and now I'm a happily married adult with a wonderful kid and a fantastic circle of friends that love me. Positive attitude = Positive lifestyle. :)
TheCelestialLyn
so how do you fake being positive?
its quite easy
m35a2lover Hang in there buddy. :
Look I know what you're talking about. I've felt the same way before and it got so bad I attempted suicide. Now to this day, I can't go through a single day without thinking about what I almost did. I don't want you to suffer the same fate as I. Listen I know how it feels but you just have to power through it. In time things will get better. If you still can't see this I recommend getting help from someone or even me. I just don't want people to have to suffer like I. (BTW if you're curious, I made a video on my channel about my suicide story).
This is one of the most outstanding rock songs of its era. Perfect. Brad Arnold is such a brilliant song writer. He wrote this song when he was still in high school, I believe and it is such a simple but complex song. Totally sounds like the grunge rock of the 90s (my favorite genre) only well after the 90s sadly faded away. This group is such a unique and intelligent group. They don't follow the typical anti-establishment young people politics goth crowd copying others like blind sheep. I think Arnold was influenced by some of his family who served in the military. I was very sorry to hear when Matt Roberts died I think from an overdose and sadly his father found him. Matt was such a talented guy. Anyway, I would love to see these guys since they are still performing.
Iam 62 Years Young and a Good Friend of Mine went to School with These Guys! And Said They we’re Badass Cool and Right on Down to Earth! 😎
This song kicks ass. One of my fav guitar riffs of all time too. R.I.P Matt Roberts, we'll always have the music. LEGENDS NEVER DIE.

Omg! We saw them in Mississippi (of course!) on their first headline tour! It was truly one of THE best concerts I've ever been to, because it was so obvious how excited and happy they were to be performing! Brad said to the audience "This is like a dream come true, we're just Mississippi boys and we never thought we would make it this far!
True appreciation.
I think they're one of the last of the best.

Not just highschool, but life afterwards.
At some point you just grow to realize what most people really are and come to terms the whole system is bull****.
Society does not define you. It never had that right in the first place.
I'm totally stealing that. Powerful. It never had the right in the first place....damn
Your value isn’t based on your income
Brilliant words....the bs I went through in high school prepared me for the bs I experienced in the "real" world.
Very true.❤❤❤
Key point though, you need to experience it. It hardens you, gets you ready for life. If you can pass the test, you learn how to deal..with pretty much anything
This song is like therapy for me.. learning how to play it on guitar made me feel even more confident
After years of enjoying your music I just purchased several albums in a way you'd get paid for. Thankyou
I remember being in Afghanistan back in 2010...it was a lot of shit going on then. Lost a few buddies, girlfriend left me, couldn't figure out why I wasn't sleeping well so I was doing 16-18 hour days.
I came across this song and man...it really summed up what I was feeling inside. And hearing it in 2021 brings back all of those emotions.
Still a deep tune
Sorry you had to deal with that! Makes me really put my problems into perspective, and realize it wasn't near as bad as you having to fight for your life in the desert and probably would've given anything to not be there.
Not minimizing my addiction but just saying I could have had a way worse. Glad you made it out my friend!

no matter how hard i try i always end up losing miserably. I guess i am the contributor of human kinds---making others successful by making myself a failure.
dont say that keep trust in yourself
Will.... if u put that kinda of stupid stuff in ur mind then of course ull be a loser..... just non of us would success in his life without losing or falling down at least once, but what makes u diffrent than the others is that u keep tryin to achieve ur goal ...... just man, life is pretty and it deserves to work and fight hard to see its beuty ; )
Sparta Reeka i guess i tried too hard and overworked to be the stepping stone of others. i tried too hard to succeed but this led to nothing but poor health. others succeed because of me. i am the servant of mankind. please bless me God for my health.
You can make anything of yourself, just find what you are best at and specialize in that. Helping others also does not leave you behind, it makes them potential resources and potential help. If you ever need someone new feel free to hit me up on Facebook. Stay strong brother.

I cannot get over how dark this song is and how much I identified with it when I first heard it in 2000. 16 years later, it reminds me of how on edge I could and sometimes still can be. I'm more mindful of that now. I think that's the only thing that's kept me alive in my darkest hours.
Me too (not the today's (me too), but yeah, me too

Best group ever
Hello, how are you doing? It’s nice meeting you here. Thanks for your love and support. Happy New month to you ❤🤟🏻🤟🏻
Just close my eyes and I can feel being 15 again. It’s amazing how music can effect the body.
I wouldn't have thought about this as a teen but now that I'm almost 40, I like that they also include teachers in the emotion of the song.
I aint close too the edge, however I cant find any talents so I feel like a loser. People treat me fine, but Im a loner. So overall, a lot of loserness comes from me doin it to myself.
very truth in everything u say
This will fall away.
I myself am a loner and my co-workers LOVE me:)
Same here, but I feel a little closer to the edge everyday.
Everyone finds a talent or a passion sooner or later guys , step back from that ledge.
Love this song haven't listened to it for about 10 years. Play it every day at work now. Feel like I'm finding the old me again listening to the music I truly love. I've been so lost in working hard and getting ahead and providing for my family.
This song came on the radio while I was at work, and I swear I felt the same. I instantly saved it to my phone and I’ve had it on repeat ever since. On my way to work, at work, on my way home. I’ve felt stuck for so long, like idk where I’m headed. This song reminded me who I am.
whos still listning to 3 doors down in 2024
the music is beautiful and the words "this will fall away "is the positive..hope
I'm 33 years old and this song still hits me like it did when I heard it as a teenager. I'm currently feeling like a loser because I still can't get relationships right. I'm living with an active addict and I've been clean almost 4 years. WTF is wrong with me?
Danielle Mcdaniel nothing wrong with you, I’m taking back to high school everyone I hear this song. And making the same poor relationship choices is part of life but you learn and grow if it’s not good for you then you should move on!
Don't cause your not reach out please
soo your 35 now and I'm 36. I don't have a clue how relationships work. I spent the best years of my life as a chronic depressant and my love life was stunted/scared further by someone who falsely accused rape. I've settled into the bachelor life, as I don't see much prospect of anyone taking an interest in a middle-aged portly man with a relationship background of a college freshman. If that's you in the pic, I think you're really pretty and have a lot of potential. The fist step would be to get away from addicts and find a new group of friends and loved ones. The fact that you have been so close to and active addict and clean yourself tells me, er.. screams at me, that you got that under control. But you have to break ties with people who live that lifestyle. When all else fails, do what your grandma said and 'find a nice man to settle down with.' ... nice and clean (non-addict). I wish you the best of luck Danielle
@@billycordero7857 Da faq are you trying to say? At least try and form a sentence ffs. Maybe use a period or at least a comma so people know what you're trying to say.
I feel ya. As a teenager I was a loser with potential. Now that I'm older I've lost that too lol.
The riff at 2:31 is one of the most catchiest riffs ive ever heard, its been stuck in my head for such a long time, i always come back to this song because of it!
This song made me cry like a Babie, dozens of times, when i was using.
Thank God,that now i can enjoy this great
Song,but Free.
God this song reminds me of my high school years back in 2000
Yes! & I'm almost sad! Lol
2001
Melissa Brown I graduated high school in 2018 I was bullied and only had a handfull of friends I felt like a loser plus back then I was going though shit with my bitch of a step mother
young uns...96
Graduated waaaaay back and gotta give it to the younger crowds for doing a better job of defining the feelings we all had back then.
Did you take your Walkman with you to class while studying a test exam? Lol.
I love all of you losers! I sincerely mean that friend.. we are in this together! Smile
Play This Song At The United Center For The Chicago Blackhawks Game In Chicago Illinois
I remember when Dale Earnhardt Jr. had this band on his 8 Budweiser car as a sponsor back in about 2002 or 2003, something like that. Pretty cool, those days were better back then. I was struggling but I sill had fun!
I love that it shows the dorky teacher too. Sometimes it doesn't end at highschool.
Sometimes it never ends.
oi
+Jim Hawking It ends when you say"thats it " and start changing the things you dont like about yourself Other people will respect you if you respect yourself
+Марио Христов that's not always the case. a lot of people respect themselves just fine and get bullied and hated anyway. sometimes that confidence is what make the bullies do what they do. they don't like something about themselves and see it in another person and see them being okay and they just attack them trying to make them feel the same. I know because I've been on the receiving end of it. I've always liked and respected myself as I am and that makes a lot of insecure, abusive people angry.
+Noble It's a fact that it's about addiction, not pizza (unless you are an over-eater). Listen to the song w/o watching the video, kid.
60 yrs old and still rockin to this
This music is timeless!!!!!
45 million listens. Mic drop. Over..
They're currently doing a 20 year anniversary tour of this album......one of the most emotional shows I've ever seen in my life😔😔😔
I was 45 years old when this came out in 2000, who are these guys I had to know. 65 and still rocking...3 Doors Down.
Had this on repeat today at the gym
Lonely years of my life ...spent a lot of time alone ....did have one good friend for a few years then none .....
I'm here for you if you need someone to talk to.
Same, only survived because I had a cat back then. Started exercising, things got better without even noticed. Bought a sportbike. Didn't care about anything else.
Slowly started loving life again.
Met my wife, we have 2 kids, 16 and almost 9 y/o. Time flies. I'm 43 now.
I love life more than ever, altough nothing's ever perfect. I don't chase perfection, not even hapiness, I'm just living 1 day after another.
It was a cat that taught me that.
Wish you good luck and hapiness.
Real people don't have a lot of friends
Johnny on the spot exactly they are too real for fake people
@@jimjamkins5105 I agree. Stay strong friend. I'm alone too.
Lyrics
Breathe in right away, nothing seems
To fill this place
I need this every time, take your
Lies get off my case
Some day I will find, a love that flows
Through me like this
This will fall away, this will fall away
You're getting closer, to pushing me
Off of life's little edge
Cause I'm a loser and sooner or later
You know I'll be dead
You're getting closer, you're holding the
Rope and I'm taking the fall
Cause I'm a loser, I'm a loser, yeah
This is getting old, I can't break these
Chains that I hold
My body's growing cold, there's nothin
Left of this mind or my soul
Addiction needs a pacifier, the buzz of
This poison is taking me higher
This will fall away, this will fall away
You're getting closer, to pushing me
Off of life's little edge
Cause I'm a loser and sooner or later
You know I'll be dead
You're getting closer, you're holding
The rope and I'm taking the fall
Cause I'm a loser, I'm a loser!
You're getting closer, to pushing me
Off of life's little edge
Cause I'm a loser and sooner or later
You know I'll be dead
You're getting closer, you're holding
The rope and I'm taking the fall
Cause I'm a loser!
You're getting closer, to pushing me
Off of life's little edge
Cause I'm a loser and sooner or later
You know I'll be dead
You're getting closer, you're holding
The rope and I'm taking the fall
Cause I'm a loser!
Thank you for the lyrics
