I hope the viewers realise that we're witnessing history being made, many of us will never see this type of work being done ever again which makes that first flight when it happens even more special.
Thanks fore the update Neville. Great stuff. Cannot believe how many parts there are that make up the FN5 turret. The french wing is nearly ready to be fitted to Jane. Not long now. Brilliant work by all the guys. Good close up shots as well Neville. Looking forward to your next installment. Best wishes to you and everyone there at East Kirkby. 👍
Great video again Nev,nice to see that the lifting gear has been passed so its all systems go now for the swap. The lads are making a cracking job of the turret with all the equipment on that shelf makes you wonder how the gunner got in my old friend John was a rear gunner on a Halifax flying out of Burn Yorks and he said how little room there was.Anyway mate thanks again on bringing us all these updates, take care.
Another great insight to see just how much goes into this aircraft. Engineering then was amazing so much credit to our British engineering skills and carried on with todays team.
@@nevillewheeldon1693 hi Neville great videos each month love watching this plane being restored. Where I live in Perth at the Bullsbrook a suburb in Perth we have , I believe a MK 10 Lancaster on static display. It would be fantastic for Perth if that flew again , but I doubt that will ever happen .😢
Great update Neville thank you. Steady progress in all area's. Lets hope the front turret ring can be salvaged....and John has better results in the fuel tank cover alignment. Looking forward to your next update. Best wishes to all the team.
This request has been put to Neville on a number of occasions now, my guess is that its unlikely to happen and to be fair to Neville certainly not in the working environment of the hangar itself (time is money remember). Any such interviews would be best conducted at a location where the conversations themselves could be clearly heard (preferably anywhere away from the noise of the hangar) and not everyone is comfortable in a one to one situation taking about themselves in front of a camera (l know this as l have conducted a number of aviation related interviews myself on RUclips). Maybe Andrew Panton could interview a few of the guys during one of his excellent restoration update talks and get Neville to film it...kill two birds with one stone then...or alternatively record the interviews over a cheese & ham cob and cuppa in the cafe....food for thought perhaps?
☹ My mistake, now the post side HangerCam is back up and running I can see its still there. I guess Jan changed the angle as she was levelled blocking the view of the wingtip
Beautiful video. One question - around 07:55, he says something about “lost datum” in the context on stringers on the rear fuselage. Explanation please ?
Those men spending years to bring Jane back to flight deserve a medal and I hope the king gives it to them
Cheers mate.

Slow but steady progress, no way to be different: it's the most complex 3D puzzle on earth ( better saying, sky!)
Cheers Namer.
The complexity of this aircraft is incredible .....you have to take a deep breathe to remind yourself this is 85 year old technology .......
Spot on John.

Neville, could you do some little interviews with the engineers as to their background how they learned there skills & experience ?

Hi Blackdoublezero, I will stick to the engineering side so no, sorry.
Just been on the HangerCam and it looks like the Port Wing isn't there. I hope you managed to catch its removal Neville.
Another informative video

I James , the front camera gives a false impression.@@James-N

Hi HH, I will check that out with Norman he of sick with covide at this moment.
@@nevillewheeldon1693 Wish him a full and speedy recovery. Thank you.
Can you ask John how the Hampton restoration is going.
Its a "as and when" type of project.John 's main work at the moment is the Lancaster.
He's full time on the Lancaster at the moment , he does work on the Hampton in his spare time.
There's a lot going on now.
Cheers Tez.
