Waterford Flight

In this episode we take you through the Waterford Flight of Locks on the Erie Canal. This is a series of 5 locks E2-E6 across 1.5 miles. These lock lift you boat 169' . Built in 1915 this is the elevation gain relative to its length in the United States. The locks are part of and operated by the New York Canal System. The locks take you from the Hudson River to the Mohawk River so you don't have to go over the Cohoes Falls in a barrel or try and leap them like a salmon.
