I wonder if we have reached the limit of our capacity to adapt as a species? Fascinating questions and insights.
"You need a bigger tax base for more kids" Really? Because the countries in the world with healthier demographics aren't the richer ones. What you NEED is a tighter social fabric, and good-quality, durable children's clothes (an accoutrements) that can be passed from sibling to sibling, cousin to cousin, and parishioner to parishioner.
In Germany you cant increase taxes bc they are already the highest in the world, only thing you can do is cut benefits from the wrong people and give it to the right people

Nothing like feeling like a foreigner in your own country. People of colour don't see themselves as Canadian 1st they're Chinese, Indian, Iranian, etc. Canada is just where they live. They criticize Canadian culture and customs as though wherever they're from is superior, they say I have no culture, food tastes, etc. The melting pot isn't a thing. When I was born Canada was 99% white now my city of Vancouver is 47% white and shrinking everyday. Do you believe I should be happy about this? Do you think I didn't want children and a family? It's a matter of affordability. As though it's only happening to millennials except it's been going on for 50 years but it was ignored up until it was actually a problem. It's like a tire running out of air but you know, let's not do anything about it until the tire is completely flat. Whether the algorithm truly “thinks” or is sentient is irrelevant: a big database can win a chess game without being awake; it’s feasible that a big^N database could similarly win the human strategic game (regardless of its intended utility function, per instrumental convergence)

14:00 Bryan, the Palestinians tried. In 1972 the Palestinians, along with the UN called for a meeting to agree to two state solution. Israel didn’t even turn up. Instead they bombed Lebanon. Also note; no Israel PM EVER said they wanted a Palestinian state. There is more to this then you know. 15:00. Israel along with the US were working with the Fatah and blindly thought they’d win an election and as a result have someone they can control, and have their way with the land. Hamas won by 3% - not even the popular vote, just the plurality ie most of the people then didn’t want Hamas let alone now. And those that voted for them were against the corruption of fattah and its alliance with the US. Couple that with the apartheid and incitements of violence is why it was a battleground. Fatah tried to complete a coup, was beaten by Hamas, and then the blockade happened - because Israel didn’t want any form of governing body to achieve a state! This is all easily fact checked. In 2005 Gaza was placed under the panopticon system and what was called by Dovid Weiss the “gazan diet”. the objective was to thin them out, but not allow them to starve running at a caloric deficit. Most run off one meal a day. Anon Soffer said “the pressure at the border will be awful. It's going to be a terrible war. So, if we want to remain alive, we will have to kill and kill and kill”. Brilliant interview. I could listen to this kind of interview for hours. Peter Zeihan is extraordinary, and central to his thesis is demographics, which seems to determine so much of what happens on the planet and certainly the fate of nations. Having said what he has said, the adjustments that humankind will have to make over the coming decades is going to be extraordinary. I wonder if we have reached the limit of our capacity to adapt as a species? Fascinating questions and insights.
Don't make the common mistake of confusing an authoritative delivery with truth and knowledge, it could just be "baffling with bs."
"You need a bigger tax base for more kids"
Really? Because the countries in the world with healthier demographics aren't the richer ones.
What you NEED is a tighter social fabric, and good-quality, durable children's clothes (an accoutrements) that can be passed from sibling to sibling, cousin to cousin, and parishioner to parishioner.
I hate that Peter has came down with TDS it’s just sad

57:00 minutes of the video: Canada has made immigration work has it? As a Canadian of European descent I'm not exactly happy to be 1 of 6 white person with English as my first and only language in my apartment building. I'd also say, the government's solution of mass immigration of people with completely different cultures and religion is worse than the problem.
Peter glows brighter everyday if you get what I mean :^)

Wonder what Zeihan's level of trust of the military was in the '80s....
I’m glad Peter is getting the attention he deserves.
At 47:45, I really like that. A libertarian admitting that "the government doesn't solve problems, it is the problem" isn't true. The quote is from Reagan.
Bless Bryan, tough being an American
Such an odd time in history when you can hear Douglas McGregor talk about Ukraine and then listen to peter say almost the exact opposite
McGreghor is bought off.
Because Peter is not smart and doesn't know what he's talking about. Ex, he said if Putin decided to go nuclear he would be gone because we know where he is at all times and we read all his emails. Then when asked what's medically wrong with Putin he says "We don't exactly know." He contradicted himself and most people don't realize it. Either you read ALL of his emails AND know what's wrong with Putin because he just claimed that we do...OR he's full of shit.

Peter is the epitome of “great capacity for consuming voluminous amounts knowledge with no talent for wisdom”. He’s also really good at excusing his incorrect & false estimates and rebranding them as “right all along the way”. But he does have access and connections and reveals much about those cadres (if you can parse which he’s promoting). But consider that He was terrible on war in Ukraine, terrible on Covid, awful on inflation, deranged on Russia’s economy. And his demographics narrative is full of great data and lots of truth; but his estimates are mostly facile & I think he knows it. But he doesn’t intend to actually prognosticate on this issue. Instead he’s propagandizing to help push policy for very specific special interest tied to issues like globalism, open borders, erasure of nation-state sovereignty, and an ascendant technocratic plutocracy & the neo-fascist order - and sell books of course. I haven’t heard his takes in the past 3 months on Israel /Palestine, so I’ll withhold judgement on that. Still

Idk, he seems to tell it as it is or at least how he believes it to be. Zeihan worked 12 years at Stratfor an American strategic intelligence and geopolitical risk company. Zeihan was an analyst but eventually was promoted to Vice-president at Stratfor before leaving in 2021.
ESG is the global corporate version of DEI. Peter pretending its some way businesses are trying to find themselves is hilarious. Does he have a global intel agency opinion transmitter in his ass, as he speaks?

The US has reached a point where its choice ideologues have to resort to intricate explanations merely to establish that a campaign of theirs is not exactly a humiliating political or military failure as a cursory examination 9f the affair suggests but a devious and hard to understand victory that needs considered relation and a lot of creduilty.
That America today is a country which is looked at with vast suspicions , friendly disrespect and deemed a backstabber by default , having lost its veneer of superpowerdom and acquired a reputational disdain which strangely serves to inspire even hardened enemies to join ranks should there manifest an oppurtunity to snub, is gloriously lost on noone but Americans .
A humiliating defeat in Afghanistan , followed by regal pronouncements declaring the isolation, economic destruction and a strategic defeat of Russia proven false , and a moment in the UN where the whole world voted against America - all events indelibly registered in the global mindscape seem to have failed ingress into the American consciousness.
you have me until you run away from acknowledging totalitarians
Peter thinks Vivek is dumb and at the same time, in his immense knowledge, doesn't know how to pronounce nuclear.
You can come to America and say you are like us but you cant go to china and say you're chinese
It's great to listen to Ziehan, brings up valid points especially on geography and demographics as well as history nut for other thing a pinch of salt needs to be considered, he is by far in the US isolationist school where a US is doing great and everyone else is crippled and where the US did not do much wrong in the past, just be cautious and analyze his ideas, some are right and others just downright chest thumping propaganda nationalism. Oh and he also doesn't factor human biology/genetics in his assessment of geopolitics, so if you can fill up the gaps then you will have an even better assessment than him.
I can't wait to see Peter's face when he sees his first unexpected demon
Germany should turn into the Europes high tech weapons factory. So a great article about them jointly producing 1000 patriot missiles. They really should look at more partnership with the US instead of trying to do everything on their own.

Threatening someone to buy your stuff is classic colonial strategy. Peter’s been putting out a lot of disinformation recently and this interview is at the top of the list. Really dissapointing.
Would be very interested to see either Bryan or Peter talk to Connor Leahy on AI. “Pull the plug” is a problematic strategy against a foe 1000x smarter than humanity (nowhere close to true today, but that’s the threat model). Whether the algorithm truly “thinks” or is sentient is irrelevant: a big database can win a chess game without being awake; it’s feasible that a big^N database could similarly win the human strategic game (regardless of its intended utility function, per instrumental convergence)
Even if AI goes rouge what can it do?
Watch the Shawn Ryan Podcast interview with Sean Webb on AI and Consciousness and you can see the potential catastrophic consequences with current AI development techniques.
@@powershift2024 like what's the top 3 things it could do?
@@ANTIStraussian top 3? You'll have to watch the podcast. The biggest concern was it's programming using Large Language Models (LLMs) which is all human driven, and one of the main themes to be a human means you have a sense of self and a desire to protect that self. If the AI picks up on the human concept of protecting its "self," whether it actually has one or not, it's bad news for humans. It's a fascinating podcast and worth your time. Cheers.

"That's not new in London"
The fact that white people are _largely absent_ in London, is in fact something from the last decade.
The years 2010-2020 are more demographically significant to England, than the years 1910-1920.
While it is a worthwhile goal to not have national disintegration, doing so requires a greater level of rationality. However, most of our nation’s previous level of success was the result of dumb luck.
The United States was so loaded with abundance it was almost impossible to screw it up after it expanded to barely half of its current borders. Of course turn people against each other through race, political identity, and fear and there's still a decent chance of tearing it apart. It would make a fine dictatorship though, for either "side."
