i was raised on this music mydaddy loved his music you should watch him in his younger performances he is awesome wish i couldve met him , and my daddy to
That has a definitely has a E Street feel to it. I think you spotted Chuck Berry. Yes, the white guy who played in the solo was Bruce Springsteen. The moves that you saw him do, that is what Chuck Berry has done for many years and did other movements while playing the guitar. He always puts on a great show...other songs he sang were Rock and Roll Music, Roll Over Beethoven, No Particular Place To Go, Maybelline, School Days, and you would hear more guitar from Chuck in the studio version of Johnny B. Goode. And a fun song he has written and performed is My Ding-A-Ling.
Chuck Berry has been called the Father of Rock and Roll. He was the first artist inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 1986. This concert was to celebrate the opening of the Hall to the public in 1995. Amazing Chuck could still do his signature duck walk at the age of 69. More Chuck Berry songs: Rock and Roll Music, Maybellene, Roll Over Beethoven and a ton more.
Congratulations, you just got introduced to real kick ass AMERICAN ROCK AND ROLL!! When you were yelling about what he did with his legs, the rest of us were saying JUST WAIT!! Chuck Berry was the greatest rock and roll songwriter of all time, was one of the first true GUITAR GODS, and while he didn't invent the "duck walk" (that happened in the 1930s), he did PERFECT it! You could tell the crowd was already cheering for it when he started doing it in this show! This concert took place at old Cleveland Stadium which seated about 80,000 for football, so with that many people also out on the field, I'd have to say the crowd was close to 100,000. Chuck has too many incredible songs to list. Chuck did a large percentage of the biggest rock hits of the 1950s.
Chuck was rocking all the way up till the day he passed away they actually released his last album that he had just finished right after his passing. The word legend in the dictionary has a picture of Chuck next to it
When I was about 14 (1953-ish) I went to see a Fats Domino concert! One of the warm up acts was Chuck Berry. He brought down the house with his antics on the guitar. Berry was younger than here with Bruce Springsteen and could really get down with the dance moves while playing that wicked guitar of his. He was totally awesome. After a lot of different singers and Berry had done their acts for about 90 minutes...finally...Fats Domino came out...waddled over to his piano...sat down, almost missing his piano seat, played two chords of "Blueberry Hill" (his current hit recording) sang one chorus of his song, got up and stumbled out...WHAT A MISERABLE performance...he was drunk as a skunk. End of concert. If it wasn't for Chuck Berry bringing it on, the concert would have been a complete disaster. This was my very first concert and I'll never forget how great Chuck Berry was. He made a big disappointment into a total victory!
What's awesome to watch is Bruce Springsteen (the white guy you're asking about)in awe that he is on stage with Chuck Berry. Chuck is a legend and Bruce is too. Thanks for doing this video. I just stumbled on your channel today and subscribed.
Chuck Berry is an absolute legend in rock n roll history. And yes, the guy in the leather jacket is Bruce Springsteen (also the guy I’m shaking hands with in my profile pic) For sure you should check him out. The Born to Run official video is an amazing look at how Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band perform.
So glad you enjoyed this! You were just watching two legendary rock artists! Chuck Berry definitely the O.G. here. This was to open the Rock and Roll Museum to the public. Thanks for the great reaction! And I did watch it all the way through!
I saw Chuck Berry live here in uk many years ago. He was excellent and I was a bit awestruck watching him play that guitar. That move is his iconic signature move. I shared the same birthday too. RIP legend
Chuck Berry is the Godfather of Rock n Roll. One of the progenitors of the rock n roll genre if not THE founder. At the least he was the first star... and before Elvis Presley. Thank you! 🔥🤘😎👍💯👏
@@timcarr6401 I think the earliest recording of Rock n Roll I've seen/heard is of Ike Turner singing about his car. I can't find any early recordings of Sister Rosetta Tharpe that superceded these. Can you send me a link?
As much as I love Bruce Springsteen - he's a minnow on stage next to Chuck Berry who WAS A TRUE GENIUS. Chuck was a real Rock and roll legend, NOBODY COULD COMPETE WITH CHUCK ON STAGE !!!
This was actually a Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band concert for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Chuck was a guest performer. Chuck was 69 yrs. old here. Bruce is called, 'The Boss'. Like Elvis was the 'King'.
Long Distance Information Roll over Beethoven R ock Roll Music, , No particular place to go. Chuck is the great rock originator. We owe it ALL to Mr Berry
My family, friends and I met up at a bar, took a bus to watch chuck berry live and then back to the bar. One of my greatest memories ever (from what I can remember 😂
True Story… Chuck Berry only recorded this song because his cousin Marvin heard a guy called Calvin sing it at a school dance in 1955 and he phoned Chuck up to listen to it! 😉
Chuck was fantastic. His old videos shows off his famous leg moves and they are great. Mabelline, Nadine, school daze are some of his great ones. You’ll enjoy them.
That move he made was just one of his signature moves! He had a lot of hits like "Maybellene" and "Memphis Tennessee" , but there was one song that came out when I was in high school called, "My Din A Ling". You MUST do that one! Also, if you have never watched the movie "Back to the Future", you really should!
He was 69 years old in this video and still doing a great 'duck walk.' That in itself is phenomenal. NOBODY can do a duck walk like that. He owns it. God bless you Chuck Berry for giving me all your great music. rip.
Chuck Berry wrote a lot of songs in the early days of rock & roll. If you want to hear some of these songs find the movie called Hail Hail Rock & Roll. It is a big concert with lots of great musicians and Chuck Berry. All of the songs in the show are Chuck's.
I might be late but the main guy is Chuck and the other white guy is Bruce! This was an awesome concert because Chuck really was one of the first pioneers of rock and roll and Bruce was a huge artist at the time of the video, and he was actually there with the E-Street band to induct Chuck Barry to the Rock n roll hall of fame! They played this song, Johnny B. Goode, which was one of Chuck Barry’s most popular hits! I love your reactions man- super fun to watch. If you want to see another cool Springsteen video check out his live version of Thundercrack!
Chuck Berry is on my top 10 favourite musicians of all time! I love his music and grew up listening to him. Check out some more if you have time! Great reaction! 😊
if you love the guitar ... well, best track which comes to my mind is "i'm going home" by "ten years after" live at woodstock in 1969. you need to check it out! you don't have to do a reaction video, but it's a must see!!! it's an uptempo, speedy blues-rock-n-roll-song in the purest form! as i am old ... i saw chuck berry live! nice show! met him the very next day at the trainstation. i don't liked him anymore since then! it's a long story - it took a whole chapter in the book i've written ^^+gg anyway: check out the woodstock guitar hero "alvin lee" from "ten years after"..! p.s.: the berry's move is called "duck walk" :-)

I left a comment on your Elvis Presley Polk Salad Annie video that you might like to check out. Kind of goes along with the same Chuck Berry era. Re: The Contours
You really should be a little ashamed of yourself not knowing who Chuck Berry is but it is never to late to learn something. Chuck Berry's influence on music a gigantic. He guitar licks are legendary and inspired tons of great guitarists after him. He is one of the founding fathers of rock together with all the other greats: Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holy, Bo Diddley, and Elvis Presley. They paved the ways, the whole story of started with them.

Chuck was the Godfather of all things rock.
Nope, Sister Rosetta Tharpe was.
Love her!! Fabulous singer
@@jenniferw6192 Isn't that right? I had meant to say that she was the godmother of Rock 'N' Roll. I still believe in gender distinctions. ;-)
Actually, the father.
Look at Bruces face. He is like a little boy with his hero on the same stage. Priceless.
Chuck Barry must have been in his seventies!
I wish you could have seen Chuck dance and sing when he young! I'm in Louisiana and he often came here.
Chuck Berry is the Godfather of Rock n Roll. One of the progenitors of the rock n roll genre if not THE founder. At the least he was the first star... and before Elvis Presley.
Thank you!
🔥🤘😎👍💯👏
Sister Rosetta Tharpe (1915-1973) was the originator.
Elvis was recording rockabilly/rock 'n' roll for a year before Chuck recorded "Maybellene."

This song is semi-biographical about Johnnie Johnson, Berry's long-time piano player, and Berry himself.
He played in nearby high school and on Fridays had bands at his farm. Had friend who got one of his guitars. He sold them every year for new ones.
Chuck Berry is a Legion ! The father of rock !

Chuck INVENTED ROCK GUITAR
1995 seems like 5 years ago to me.
Chuck Barry was the inventor of rock and roll.
Wrong, Sister Rosetta Tharpe (1915-1973) began it all. She was Chuck's inspiration.
Dr. Carl Sagan sent a recording of Johnny B Good on the voyager spacecraft headed to the outer solar system and beyond.
1995 was yesterday to me.
I could live without Bruce, but Chuck is a 🐐
Great reaction
Tiene que ver el vídeo de 1958.
Epic!
