Great video and honestly if I were looking for a candy bar phone, I would be picking this up as I do love their software and camera tech.
I see no reason to switch from the Vivo X100 Pro (global version) to the Vivo X100 Ultra. The camera is not really much better, in some cases even worse. Who really zooms more than 20x? The Chinese software is not really optimized for the European market, some functions don't work properly. Then there is the warranty period. Here in Austria, Vivo offers a 36-month warranty. The Chinese version of the Ultra has just 12 months warranty. Last but not least, the successor, the Vivo X200 (Pro), is coming soon, at the end of the year. This will be released worldwide without any restrictions.
And I'll buy both...
@@Ronta-ql7lp is it clearly from mars that vivo puts much effort into origin OS then funtouch OS, is crazy to think funtouch os is better when their main focus are chinese customers
@@Ronta-ql7lp the only problem is lack of android auto mainly , origin os is smoother and better optimized , bet funtouch misses origin privacy system which is similar to secure folder on samsung
@@Ronta-ql7lp i bought a cracked s10 lite for android auto that is always in my car for 80 euro, i can connect my vivo at the same time for calls, media etc and is even better in my opinion like this as still get android auto without draining the battery of vivo in the process

One thing I have to give Vivo credit is the consistency of the low light photo processing and results it looks amazing

I'm sure you already knew that the X100 Ultra uses a newer battery tech. I assume that's why the charger wattage is lower than even the X100 Pro.
Accessories have always been an issue with Chinese phones, namely cases. But its something I've learned to live with and a small price to pay to own a Chinese flagship.
You and Flossy Carter are the best tech reviewers. I've only had my Xiaomi 14 Ultra for a few months and very happy with it and the professional camera kit. Hope you give the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Vivo X100 Ultra a mention and maybe a comparison. Good luck 🤞

Hey Avg Dad, I got a question, I use my phone to take photos of my children they move around a lot and every phone but the pixel takes blurry photos when movement occurs, does this happen with the vivo x100 ultra (also would prefer the vivo fold x3 pro) wondering the same thing about that phone ?

How is with colors in low light - I'm little afraid to take Vivo, because it looks so artificial bright? If it's night it should be night-like.
Can you compare a little also camera UI - especially PRO/manual mode? Does all three support focus peaking and zebra? Is it possible to disable automatic night mode and AI in PRO mode? Can you pixel-peep in 1:1? What resolution outputs are possible beside 12 MP and 50 MP - also 25 MP, 100 MP, something else also?
Please - keep all phones in Authentic/Natural mode. I'm interested at Oppo Master mode also? It would be really awsome if you can upload photo samples of each phones - maybe you can integrate samples of phones in your online shop - that would be really uniques and awsome!! 🔥

What about moving objects, shutter lag ? Can i produce sharp images? 😊
it can if you use snapshot mode but you lose hdr and some details if the light is lower but this is normal
To be fair, it probably only has the best zoom lens so far. Wish there is option to flash an origin os with proper google services.
I love Vivo, mostly for their foldables, but also the normal candybar flagship, because they have the best hardware than the competition, especially camera wise, they also have great software, i prefer the chinise rom origin os than the global rom, i can live without android auto, but not only origin os is far better than funtuch os, also their variants that go global af far more expensive.
Now, regarding this particular smartphone thath i have since a couple of weeks i think there is s problem, no doubt that on paper it has the best camera sensor, the best lenses and on top vivo own chip for imaging now with even more features.
The issue is that it come up too late, now we aren't far from the next flaghisp chip, and this, even with a lot of software update still has some issues with the camera, especially the periscope, but also the main sensor sometimes is too slow to take a photo with moving obgets.
I think it should have come at the same time al the other "x100s" but probably was not ready yet, last year the x90 pro plus, with it was the ultra, they just changed the name for marketing porpouse, came up basically at the same time as it's smaller brothers.
Also talking about the x90 pro plus, why did it have a far bigger under screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and this newer one doesn't? It was fantastic, you coul register your finger with just one tap, cost cutting?

Hey AVD~ I have smart adaptation on my refresh rate settings but when I open my social media apps like IG or FB, it goes down to 60hz when I'm scrolling. Any idea what's going on or what I need to change?
put it in high and select manually the apps you want to have 120hz, it will still lower the refresh rate when the image is static

Maybe the X100 Ultra has a better camera than the Find X7U but like I've said before the Find X7U has the best design of any phone, possibly ever! And for me that's a good enough reason for me to stick with the X7U

@@jpxmodzwhen I bought it I had no idea how awesome the synthetic leather was going to be. That combined with the style just wins for me. The fact that the software is so good makes it an easy choice. Maybe not for everyone but definitely for me!
It's my personal opinion that Oppo builds the best mobile devices in the world and has been doing so for years
@@jpxmodz the X7U is my first OPPO device and while I still prefer Samsung for software there's no denying that OPPO is miles better in hardware. And the software experience is good enough that as an overall package I'm 100% satisfied and just looking forward to a global release for OPPO's next flagship.

does anyone know how is the glass on this phone? compared to the glass of honor, huawei and xiaomi? is it that strong or not?
all i can say is i had x90 pro+ for 1 and a half year and dropped it with a case at least 20 times and no issues
They are not giving any info about its glass, gorilla glass armor is like same shit as victus 2...honor, xiaomi and huawei s glass toughness is on another lvl...

I wish that Vivo would have waited for the sd8 gen 4 instead of release it with the gen 3. I also wish that it came with a real titanium body option like the xiaomi or Samsung instead of just the titanium colour variant. I'm not even mad about the reduced charging and wireless charging speeds.
Oh, another thing. I'm abit miffed the camera kit connects via bluetooth instead of usb c like the xiaomi. There most likely would be a lag. Also, not sure about this, but it won't act as an expandable battery which again, the xiaomi camera kit is. Can never go wrong with additional battery power

@@AverageDadOfficial I know. It's just so that the haters, fanboys, reviewers wouldn't have a point to knock the phone for. With the 8 gen 4 coming out in a month or two, it seems like with these decisions, there's always a slight or a case to be made. And I'd rather that Vivo shut up the naysayers. It's similar to point you brought up, about the charging speed. It doesn't matter much or affects the phone, however on paper, it is still a downgrade. Guess I just care too much about what people would say. I really shouldn't

I don't really agree, I tested the x100 ultra and its night mode is too yellow for my taste! Its lack of precision in terms of color reality at times despite the fact that I had used the Zeiss mode, the only moment where I saw the x100 ultra is in front is for the x10 zoom at night, slightly brighter portrait also compared to the x100 pro, then the quality of the screen is not great, it is terribly lacking in brightness, the sound is good but it lacks power, it remains my personal opinion. I hope Vivo will make an effort on the screen for its next high-end...
you just need to know what you are doing mate! there are 3 Zeiss modes plus multiple styles. also the default images are all on my video with none of the issues you said.. i question if you actually have one

battery life is barely at s24 ultra level if you are a heavy user, if you use max 4 hours per day your phone samsung will have better life because the drain on idle is crazy high just like my older x90 pro+, is using over 1% per hour on idle so if you use your phone 2 days 50% of battery is wasted just sitting with its screen off
this is either some heavy chinese spyware or low quality modem
if you don't believe me install accubattery on both and use the phones normally for 2-3 days and you'll see samsung had 3x better idle stats , and i'm not even throwing iphone 15pm which has by far the greatest idle drain with only 1% per night compared to 8-9% of vivo or 2-3% of samsung
this is the only thing bugging me on my x100 ultra and will be my last vivo if they can't fix this issue that i had on x90 pro+ too

The Vivo x100U was just released way to late. Why would I buy this now if 8 gen 4 is around the corner as well as vivo next flagship being released at the end of the this year.

Heard December to January 2025 for Chinese version of X200 series and Oppo Find X8 Ultra but global devices should come from Oppo this year they sayed but thats 4 months later
