I think Todo with a few other super strong grade 1s could stand a chance against Jogo for a decent amount of time. Jogo has overwhelming speed and power, but he isn't so durable that they couldn't do damage against him. If you have Todo there to swap people around the moment they're in Jogo's direct line of fire, they could avoid getting one shot for a while and might be able to land some blows on him. Of course, Jogo would just use domain expansion lol and then they'd be cooked.

I see people saying “why should we feel sad for mass murderers”. Nanako and Mimiko were also victims. The twins was ostracized, and abused at a young age (the village Geto burned down). They was also brainwashed by crazy ideology from Geto. Geto cared for the twins, but he also confused them with his hatred towards non sorcerers. I’m not justifying their actions, but I do feel bad for them.

14:57 they didn't narrate this in the anime, but in the manga the narrator tells us Naobito (papa Zenin) losing his arm significantly nerfed his speed. He mightve been able to get away if he had both arms

Nanami was holding up with Mahito before he opened his domain, Maki was able to fight Hanami for some time and Nabobito is the fastest sorcerer after Gojo (at least when he still had his right arm). And Jogo handled them in seconds, he's a serious threat.

I always thought that Megumi was stronger than most first grades because he has a domain expansion and we all know how big ofba deal that is since it's literally the pinacle of sorcery but Toji picking him as the strongest was a surprise. I'm not surprised of Megumi being stronger than Maki or Nanami because that was pretty obvious to me but Megumi being stronger than Naobito was a shock, i wonder if Toji would have chose Naobito instead if had both arms

Yea. This is why Shibuya has the reputation it does. It so scales up the power levels for the rest of the series in the blink of an eye and it does it so ruthlessly. Long gone are the days of it being a low stakes story about Jujutsu High students going to class and out on missions and stuff.

Anime only's think that we are going to get more happy and fun times. Little do they know that the Shibuya Incident Arc starts now. This is when the series hits its peak.

Yeah and I like that. It always felt rather convenient to me in past shows how the next arc, and the next villains, would be such gradual shifts in power that the characters needed at that time in order to get stronger. But this shonen does something with that idea of "power cliffing" in the most realistic way possible for a universe with that kind of power gap. Once the right baddies run around, there is nothing to protect you from their malicious wrath. Its kill or be killed and if you can't survive, you just simple aren't going to. No second chances, no random rage ups that eclipse the power difference, just plain survival or not at all. That's something I've grown to appreciate with this arc.
There he is, Sukuna is back. He's the whole reason why this arc is called the Shibuya incident 💀
For the people wondering what Sukuna is doing, we have seen at least one of his techniques before. The slashes are one of them. In the first season against the special grade in like episode 3 or 4 we saw him split the curse into 5 or 6 pieces and pull his finger out from the middle.
The only thing I have a I to criticize is the sub translations, have not been nearly as good as the manga, some lines don't have much impact as one would hope. So let me give yo the lines given by the narrator when Toji showed up.
- "Those who inherited the curse of the Zenin clan (refering to Megumi and Naobito), the one who couldn't fully leave behind that curse (refering to Maki). THEY WOULD ALL BEAR WITNESS.. TO THE NAKED FLESH OF THE ONE WHO SET HIMSELF FREE, TO THE ONE WHO LEFT IT ALL BEHIND! AND HIS OVERWHELMING INTENSITY!!"
@14:50 remember Jogo set up volcanoes on multiple beams to create a crossfire, so despite Naobito being ridiculously fast, he was still well within the scope of Jogo's volcanoes.
It’s crazy how much people underestimated Jogo just cuz he got fodderized by Gojo lol. Gojo is simply HIM, but Jogo is still one of the strongest curses.
I think the series keeps telling us that there is a balance of power between Curses and Sorcerers. Having Gojo sealed shows that he definitely skewed the balance to the point where when he is gone, other modern day sorcerers couldn't keep up with how strong the curses are. The curses got stronger because Gojo existed.
The antagonists of this series are goated fr.
Mahito is the loosest unit.
Toji is the biggest menace and a wild card.
Sukuna's presence is unmatched.
Kenny is so damn mysterious, always scheming and plotting.

I read the manga like 2 years ago so I knew everything that would and will happen but, the fear, the respect that I felt towards Sukuna and Toji, Its something I've never felt before watching anime. ISTG that I felt slightly terrified by Toji when he was walking towards the group, smiling as if he was a good guy or smth. Then, Sukuna wakes up and you can immediately feel the terror and fear, the OST, the voice actor, the details in their faces, the fear in their voices, everything makes it so fucking perfect that the experience becomes beyond fantastic. Undeniably, top 5 episodes of JJK, ever. And better things are yet to come, Shibuya is just unbelievably good.

My theory is that Sukuna wants Megumi's body to do some Orochimaru type shit because the foreshadowing is crazy. Sukuna wont shut up about megumi and then in this episode they're like "Toji only goes for the strongest" but he ignores the old man and nanami and goes directly for Fushiguro... I think that's a hint that Fushiguro is actually super hidden OP...
Jogo is lowkey kinda smart. Went in, no questions asked, dusted 2 people before they could react and when facing the speedster (Naobito, the old guy) he just went "fck that, not gonna race with you" and AOE him immediately. I'd like to see stuff like this more often - usually the only way to beat someone fast in other shows is to "get faster" or "predict their movements", but you could get more creative, like Jogo did here. Superb!

21:23 Yuta did NOT beat Geto full strength. Geto had his curses divided and left some to fight where gojo and the others were while he went to Jujutsu High and he fought off 3 sorcerers before fighting Yuta all while holding back so he doesn’t kill those three sorcerers (inumaki, panda, maki) and Gege (the author of JJK) confirmed in an interview, that Geto would’ve won if his forces weren’t divided. I think Yuta has a lot of potential but at this point in time, the difference between him and Gojo is HUGE. It’s comparable to Sukuna and Jogo
People make it seem like Geto was using a small fraction of his strength or something lol. He had 6500 curses and he used 2000 for the attack, so the remaining 4500 were for Yuta, so 70% of his total forces. Also while he was holding back against the other students, he literally came there to kill Yuta lmao and said he was glad he did before Yuta learned how to use his power properly. He wasn't holding back on him. Yuta at this point in the manga, with a lot more experience and potentially more techniques could probably have beaten Geto at full power on his own.

He's afraid of Gojo too. It just that after fighting solo with Gojo, he lost confidence and the 2nd time, he brought his evil squad with him but alas he still lost. In Sukuna's case. He is the king of curse so it's normal for every curse spirits to afraid of him. Sukuna is the definition of evil itself.

Its explained earlier in the series maybe, but Toji's senses are soo heightened he can perceive cursed beings without cursed energy.

Ok, so some mistranslations here, when Megumi compares Toji to Sukuna (when he had 3 fingers) he was only talking about the speed.
And when Toji enters the domain they say: "Those who inherited the curse of the Zen'in clan (Megumi and Naobito), the one who couldn't fully leave behind that curse (Maki), they would all bear witness to the bare flesh of the one who is free (Toji)". It basically says that since only Toji is the only one without cursed energy and an zen'in cursed technique, he's the one who's free, but it didn't make much sense in the anime because of the way they translated it.

Megumi holding back Dagon's guaranteed hit definitely helped. But this just puts into perspective the power gap. Two first grades(one who was the second fastest NEXT to Gojo) and two semi first grades were all jumping Dagon and kinda losing. 4V1 and Dagon was holding his own. Toji steps in and obliterates him. Takes a tool from Maki and gets to work. In HIS domain. Absolute monster.
Now, even crazier, we see another power gap. Jogo has always been in fights against Gojo. And everyone seems weak against Gojo. But here we see him against opponents that are not on Gojo's level. And he literally speed blitzes three of them before they can comprehend what just happened properly. Being weak against Gojo does not mean you're weak in general.
Nanako and Mimiko. Two girls who were abused and mistreated but rescued by Geto. They wanted to put his body to rest. To get that brain out of his body. But it didn't work out that way. Sukuna heard their pleas and killed them anyway. R.I.P. Dagon, Nanako and Mimiko. Just goes to show, he isn't on anyone's side but his own. He is not some protector of Yuji at all. And now he's agreed to a deal with Jogo. If he can land one hit on him, ONE, then he will do as the disaster curses want. Obliterate every last human in Shibuya. Aside from one.

Loved how this episode kinna put the power scale in perspective, Jogo seemed weak cos he fought against Gojo. He basically just one taps every other person, it was even a contest.

No chance at all. Sukuna can still destroy his domain from the outside. The "basketball domain" and all that that Gojo used against Sukuna, he learned all that inside the prison realm. Right now Gojo wouldn't be able to do shit against Sukuna. Once Gojo's domain is gone and his limitless is neutralized through domain expansion or domain amplification, it's all a matter of seconds before Gojo dies.
Sukuna could've done this against Gojo too, but he wanted to use up mahoraga first.

Yuta says he has more curse energy than Gojo and less than Sukuna, but Gojo, with the Six Eyes, uses less curse energy to perform his spells, so he is cheating. It's like Sukuna has 300 mana points, Yuta has 150, and Gojo has 100, but he also has mana recovery on top of it.

To be fair to Naobito (the old guy), and since it won't be stated in the show, he lost speed and power with 1 arm gone. So that's why he got caught by the attack but even still he dodged Jogo's starting sneak attack that caught everyone else. Makes you wonder how strong he was in his prime
He also spent both fights trying to protect Maki. He was the only one out of the clan that truly cared about Maki and Mai .

i totally agree with carter bringing up the difference in watching a show weekly vs binging. some shows, especially shonen like jjk, are at their best when you can just carry the hype into the next episode and binge it all in a sitting or two. I think I got spoiled on some stuff on twitter so I'm just kinda vibing week to week knowing some stuff that comes up later so I'm just waiting to get there at this point lol.

10:38 Funny you should mention: The voice actor for Sukuna is also the voice of the scariest antagonist in a basketball anime called Kuroko's Basketball. The show starts off a little wonky, but right around the time Sukuna's VA's character shows up, it really picks up speed. That same commanding presence carries from JJK onto the basketball court.

Man, don't sell Megumi short. He'd been domain-clashing with Dagon the entire time, exhausting his cursed energy to the limit, so much so that he got a nosebleed. If he wasn't there, all the rest would've died. Megumi was just as exhausted as the rest, period.

Which puts him above everyone else there (after Dagon, as it was showcased). Nanami and Naobito might have more experience than him, but that doesn't make them STRONGER. Because just like Gojo told Yuuji, jujutsu prowess is 80% innate, and Megumi was just born more gifted in comparison. Domain expansion is the pinnacle of jujutsu sorcery, and Megumi was the only sorcerer with one, which automatically made him the strongest there as it was not implied but almost outright stated by the narrative. You the one with headcanons, fighting against the narrative here, not me 💀
