@@poonderings Surely needs an overhaul. His artists ain't even close friends with other groups. Only Bigbang and 2ne1 are close and do not seem awkward with each other, but for the rest of YG's artists, meh! If you look at SM artists, they are big but they are still close friends with other groups.

The same person who has been charged with tax evasion , illegal gambling and whose company credit cards were linked with the Burning Sun scandal which involved drug and prostitution charges? That BigBang member (can remember his name) was the scapegoat on all that and got off with a slap on the wrist (3 years in prison) . If that case went as deep as it should YGE would've dissolved and a big chunk of chaebol families , politicians and generaly people in power would suffer huge public humiliation and outcry. But YGE is the best laundromat in Korea so they are untouchable.
It really sucks that a lot of kpop stans share the sentiment that Twice are only a "title track group" with insufficient b-sides. I fell into that trap before actually diving into their Korean discography and realized that while their first few albums had more mediocre songs on average, the more that Twice are allowed to participate the better the albums become. I really can't wait for their evolution further down the line (and solo albums + units).
Totally agree! They put out a LOT of music, so some of it is inevitably mediocre, but you can really see their growth. Loving "Basics" by Chaeyoung from their most recent album.

I think your essay is very naive. In 2019 their music became more seductive and dark, hmmm why? I'll tell you why---Blackpink. Why did they stay focused on making happy, joyful music, because that's who they are, and they can't pull off badass. Are they really evolving, or are their producers tired of making the same thing? Writing lyrics is not the same as writing music. Compliments to your editing skills though.
Because they are getting older? Twice’s youngest members were born in year 1999, which make them 16 when they debuted. Actually more than half of the group were 18 and below when they came out. Once they are no longer minors then they slowly changed/ evolved, dude they are THE girl group that participated the most on their own music, not many girl group can do that. You are naive if you think age doesn’t matter or you think they were forced to write their own music, why would the producers do that, it doesn’t make sense.
It's also naive to think they changed their music because of Blackpink. It's also naive to say they can't pull-off other concepts. They are Twice, not any other group. They can only be themselves and try different concepts in their own way. It's ok to like or not like everything your favorite groups make. The key is to enjoy and appreciate the process and the work they put into it
I can't really say I "follow" Pop music, but I enjoy different kinds of music, and my preferences change as I grow up. Yes, there are trends. Music people follow trends. But I create my playlists based on what I enjoy and not follow "trendy" music from lists others create for me. Watching this video again and reading your comment again made me understand why I said your naive. You watched a video about Twice hoping for the video creator to credit Blackpink for their switch up or trying different concepts. If you follow Twice, you'll know they enjoy different kinds of music and concepts. In their vlives, they jam to Aespa, New Jeans, BTS, TXT, etc. As singers/artists, they want to explore more music. Saying they switch things up because of trends made by Blackpink is naive. They follow music that they want and enjoy the process of making new things for their fans to enjoy
