- In todays video I will be discussing the unbelievable story of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571. Back in 1972 the plane took off and crashed in the Andes Mountains with 45 total passengers on board. Those that survived the crash would do all they could to survive the next 72 tumultuous days.

I shouldn’t listen to this. I fly to Boston tomorrow morning. Thank god for Xanax
Safe Travels, Friend! 💖
@@jillturner9263 😂
First off, safe travels! Second, perhaps wait til after the plane ride 😂
Oh boy…I have found that it silences too well a vital part of the brain, reducing its user to the level of thinking somewhere around the basic caveman level 1 intelligence. But for a flight? Meh, let’s call it time travel lol.
Thank you for another excellent video❤
Thanks 🙏
The book is fantastic ! The story is incredible. I cannot even imagine going through that .
I was very young when this happened. I can remember the astonishment that any survived and were rescued. At the time, my father recommended I read a book he had read about survival in the snow. It was called Ordeal By Hunger by George R Stewart and it's about the Donner Party. It was based on accounts from the survivors, but also diaries and journals kept by the people involved. Very good. I recommend it. People are capable of such amazing things in a survival situation. Thank you for this great presentation.
Glad you enjoyed thanks 🙏
Such a terrible situation. Thanks for another great one. Like the new intro!
Glad to hear you like the intro and story! 🙏
@@TheCellarTrueCrime I was a little kid when this happened, but I knew about it and watched the movie. Truly heartbreaking. Who knows what we'd do if we were in their situation
I have been waiting for you guys❤❤
❤️

This story forever changed me .. especially when I begin to complain about anything ❤🙏
Definition of my mom telling me when i was younger that “some people have it harder than you!”
I remember watching the movie Alive when I was a kid. Ethan Hawke is in it. It's a good movie.
I thought I remembered this as a movie
Yeah I think I watched it. Definitely going to revisit it again. I didn’t realize Ethan Hawke was in it until I rewatched the trailer for it!
Same! I watched this movie years ago! Crazy story.. felt bad for them.
It’s one thing to be in a plane crash quite another to realize you lived and to do whatever you had to do to survive….
I read the book years ago and am still amazed that they survived.
Yeah it’s unbelievable they made it out of there. Everything was against them
Glad you covered this story. I remember reading the book when I was younger, then seeing the movie “Alive” (which is great!) More recently they made a movie for Netflix about it call “Society of the Snow”, and it’s good also. Can’t imagine how these people made it. I just wanted to mention that only two guys made the entire trek, Roberto Canessa and Nando Parrado. Apparently the third one turned back early on so that there would be more food for the other two to keep going. There are interviews on RUclips from both of them and they are great to watch. Nonetheless, this is an amazing story of survival and the human spirit.
This video made me feel ALIVE!
(shameless movie plug I know, but how often does that moment come along??)
Right!? 😂
Absolutely amazing Stories thank you you tell it so emphatically
Thanks for watching and commenting. Really glad you enjoyed this one!
This was also a movie. I originally saw it back in the late 70s iirc, and I think one other time in the 80s or 90s.
“Tomorrow” would’ve been excruciating to hear after that insane journey. I’m glad he did come back though
Yeah can only imagine!
Late to this one T C very well told horrific 😢😢🙏🙏❤️❤️
No worries! Thanks for always watching!
Damn it dude lol.. I have only made one premier and I just checked and I have notifications on 😡 oh well 🤙🤙 thanks for the video
Thanks for watching. Sorry! RUclips has been selective in alerting people. I have premieres with 100s of people, and then others like todsy with around 20. No rhyme or reason sometimes, it’s frustrating as a creator. But we keep grinding! Appreciate you watching it even after the premiere!
I've never heard of this story before. Thanks so much for all of your hard work. Much love from ks❤
Thank you for watching and really glad you enjoyed another episode!
I listened to the coverage of this tragedy and also read the book. It's terrifying. I never liked flying anyway.
Yeah flying has always been unsettling for me
I saw the movie many years ago, even that was harrowing. Thank you so much The Cellar 💠
Thank you 🙏
Love your videos and the new intro is awesome! Always excited to see your new posts 👍
Glad you like the intro. Was dabbling around with something a little different, was hoping you’d like!
Keep these videos coming man they're great!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. For some reason this one’s not getting as much traction. Not sure why 🤔 sometimes the ones I work the hardest on don’t get viewed as much. But I’m really glad you watched and have enjoyed it!
It was actually two men, one of them went back to the plane so the food would last for the two that went to chile
Thank you for pointing that out. I re looked through my notes and see that I overlooked that aspect of the story in the end. Appreciate you pointing out my mistake and correcting it.
And then people had the gall to deride them for eating the dead
Like they had any other options to survive
Mmmmmm chile
Wow!!! What a story! Fabulous!
Appreciate it!
Thanks for sharing this story. I read the book Alive years ago. I also have watched the movies and it's always been a fascinating story to me.
Yeah it’s an unbelievable story, to survive that many days. Also the men who walked out of there, there journey alone is remarkable
Great video!
Thanks ❤
This is one of those tragic stories that you'll never forget..
