@hiimjoe6768 It's funny, it's literally just Left 4 Dead. But harder, and you can't just speedrun to the end in 20 seconds. It's such a fun game that gets a bad rep because gamers can't do math. It's actually better than Left 4 Dead, by a lot. Left 4 Dead is cool because it's nostalgic and whatnot, but the challenge is gone. I still haven't failed any run of Left 4 Dead to this day. Back 4 Blood brings that challenge that gamers so desperately crave.

In the sound files, there are sounds for a zombie dog. These were merely stock sounds that were never renamed to match what they were used for. The sounds were used for the Hunter before release, meaning there was never a Zombie Dog.
I also think the screamer work the same as the Witch but alert the horde. Pretty much just alarm cars but zombie version, i think that's why they scraped them out
many aspects were recycled. The "scream" warning that an attack was imminent was given to the hunter. The "summoning" ability was given to the Boomer. The "running away" mechanic was given to the Witch, once she's killed a survivor, as well as the "survivor zombie" which flees when sufficiently agitated.
From what I remember: the Screamer was scrapped due to it being too difficult to understand before it scrum. (Also maybe it looked too much like a common to be easily spotted.)
Happens to me every time which can be annoying especially in the dark. (Update: it's easier to kill Hunters now especially in the Parish and Dark Carnival maps).

Apparently the zombies don’t really pay attention to loud explosion sounds or gunfire or large equipment unless it’s really close by, but The Screamer apparently does a bit too much and due to it being aware of these things, it’s scream will summon every zombie nearby to its location and that’s how we have the horde come to an event.
In fact, the screamer was basically dissected into all of the Special Infected. Scream for the hunter, the horde drawing ability was given to the Boomer's bile, etc.

I really like the Screamer and Haggard concepts, tho, I think the Haggard is so specific it works better as a unique, level specific ranged tank boss, like the Witch Bride (the Passing) and Train Tank (the Sacrifice). The screamer would also be cool as a level or campaign specific uncommon infected alike the Clowns, Construction Workers, Swat Infected, etc. They could be scattered around a campaign that includes an asylum
the hunter is every recycled thing into one -scream is from the screamer -got a LOT of ideas removed -growls and melee sounds come from the K9, a zombie dog that was gonna be on the game.
An extra special infected like the screamer would been a nice addon (optional). If he screams the closest survivors are stunned for a short period, the longer away the shorter the delay is. If all 4 are really near and screamer jumps out (and is not shot on sight) the whole team freeze for 5 sec. One should tweak on its properties, just spitting out balls here to play with....
A lot of people are glad they cut the screamer but I think it’s a great idea but it just needs to be combined with the dead survivor special infected. A screamer running away with loot and health packs would be a good challenge.
The Screamer would actually be a nightmare on Versus to the point where it is damn near unplayable since someone would just be summoning constant hordes

It would not be playable and would wander like the Witch does, only instead of attacking when aggravated, it would howl out if it spotted you. This would encourage players to keep their eyes and ears open, because if they turned a corner and it was there, it would see them immediately and scream, summoning a horde. To make it more difficult to avoid, it would not play a musical track the closer you get, but only when it spots you. It would still flee after spotting you and alerting a horde, but instead of running it would move slower with more erratic movements, possibly attempting to seek out a confined space to hide in. This would mean it wouldn’t run indefinitely, which was one of the reasons it was removed from the game during development.
Fun Fact: During the beta of L4D, in the first trailer, the same scream was used for the trailer. The Screamer was off camera, but the scream alerted a horde, leading to the death of the survivors.

The screamer was already complete all it needed was a game model so they could add it in but sadly he was scrapped and all of his sounds and attacks were devided up to create the other special infected
Now honestly I was just thinking about this but it would be cool if they added the screamer, and when they attack they disable the survivors hearing for about 8 seconds. Now you might be looking at that and being like “Oh but that doesn’t sound good” but think about it. Infected like the boomer would have a much easier time sneaking up on a survivor, and if a boomer can puke on a survivor when the SCREAMER has already disabled a survivors hearing, then they are practically useless because they see anything, and they can’t hear anything either. It’s just a little idea I had tho, so it’s not the best
