Hi Leigh, I finally took the new Yamaha Genos2 out of the box and placed it on the Yamaha L7B stand and hooked the a new pair of Yamaha HS7! WOW! This beast is simply addivtive and I am absolutely blow out of the water. What a super mega flagship from Yamaha. The first thing I played is Cinema Paradiso by Enio Moricone and it literally took me to another World. I am in love with this beast. Thank you for the lovely and super informative playing that you give us all ... Just thought of letting your know that this is the best ever from Yamaha for me.

Great demo, this keyboard is a monster and you are the beast master!! Your knowledge of this arranger keyboard is amazing. Operation is half of the presentation. The keyboard does so much it’ll take the rest of my life to figure it all out. But it will be so much fun to master it….
This style would be great to play Rachmaninov's gigantic compositions like he's piano concertos and symphonies :) Well super done Leigh as always, you seem to blow us away with such wisdom and experience with the Yamaha Genos 1 and now a mastership, the Genos2.

Leigh. First off, I want to say that out of all the videos I've watched on the Genos 2, including Peter Baartman's, yours have been the most informative and educational. Your love of the instrument comes through in every one and you are indeed a very good salesman for Yamaha, and you really should be compensated in some way. Because of your video, IF I had the money, Genos would be number 2 on my list of desired keyboards. I still want a PA5X, and nothing is going to change that, but having a Genos in addition to that would be best of all possible worlds. As I said in a previous comment, I think Genos is probably the BEST Arranger keyboard for the person who is out doing a one or two person gig, singer/keyboardist kind of gig. The built in Microphone input would be very helpful for that. The USB out with audio is great. Do you know if the mic input is also output over that USB? That, and a laptop, and you can record your entire performance. Having said that, I do like the guitar input on the PA5X and all the built in guitar effects as well as the mic input on the PA5X. I would assume that the Genos has a vocal effects processor with something like the TC Helicon the earlier Korgs had. You've said you don't sing (neither do I, so I understand), but do you have a singer friend(s) who could demonstrate that? What I like about the Genos is everything is easily accessible from the screen. No need to go through a lot of pages to get what you want for basic editing and performance. On the other hand, and again, I've said this is previous replies, I think the PA5X is more of a singer/songwriter tool. It's design as far as sound manipulation and editing, and deeper editing into sequencing and so forth move it into the song production range. This is the keyboard that a songwriter wants to be able to walk into an office, hand the guy who is signing up the next star a CD of finished product and it will sound as good as musicians in a studio and professional mastering studio. I'm not sure you can get that from a Genos. In that case, I see a difference between the keyboards. From everything I've heard the quality of the sound is on par for both keyboards, expansion is good for both of them, sampling, sample editing, etc. While it could be used for playing live, I don't think that's the forte of the PA5X. The one thing about the PA5X, and all of the Korg Arrangers since the original i3 as the ability to have six chord pattern variations per Variation part. Each Variation will have different variations for Major, Minor, Sixth, Seventh, Diminished and Augmented chords. Of course, not all styles conform to that, but it is available. I think that adds a musicality of the Korg that the Yamaha lacks. In watching your videos, the one major item that I do not like about the Genos is the One Touch Settings. For me, it would be imperative to be able to rewrite those to the sounds I want for the three upper and one lower sound, and have the ability by default to have whatever parts I want on or off. Then, I'd want to be able to save those changes to the style and not created a new style in the User section. In a response from another follower, they said it could be done on the Genos 1, and if it was done there it should be able to be done on the 2. I don't know that it was available on the 1, and I can't find anything in the manual that says you can do it on the 2. Some of the OTS, so far, sound great, others make me cringe and would not be the way I would use them. But, forcing me to store them in a User location is a big turn off for me, especially if you were playing out. I like the Genos, and a lot of that comes from your demonstration of the keyboard and your knowledge of music of all genres. As I've said in the past, my main genre is "The Great American Songbook" and those years, and music from the 80s forward is not something I actively play (for the most part) Also helps, or hurts, actually, that I'm not the player you are, not even close. But, in the end, I think you are doing a great service to Yamaha and I hope they appreciate what you're doing. Whereas before, I would not have considered buying the Genos, but after listening to you, I would certainly buy one if I had a PA5X and the money to get one. Thank you for showing that and changing my mind.
Leigh, according to another youtuber there is a new violin in the Genos. The "Schindler's list" violin that Peter Bartmann requested from the Genos team - which is apparently German as we seen at the presentation. 😀
Hi Leigh. Loving your informative posts. They just get better and better. I have a couple of questions regarding the Genos 2 that I hope you can help me with. 1) You were using a beautiful String Pad on the left hand that sounded fantastic. However I noticed it stopped playing as you changed chords and I wondered if there was a way to keep the strings playing without interruption as you move from chord to chord. 2) Is there an arpeggiator that can be used simultaneously and in addition to the style being used. Loving you posts. Keep up the good work Leigh.
1 yes you can turn on lower hold. 2 you can record a pattern into a multipad but sadly the arpeggiator isnt able to play whilst using your right hand. 🫱

I'm curious, when you play the sound of the piano, the keys E2 and G2 at the same time and on to C3 with E3, is there still a sound anomaly that really cuts into the ears? this bothers me a lot when playing on sx 900.. it was the same with tyros 5.. you notice it when you play for a while.. is this fixed with genos 2
I was playing my Genos2 last night (recently patched with v1.02 firmware) and in the middle of a song it totally froze and all sounds stopped playing...only the metronome display kept moving. Waited around 30 seconds and had to reboot it. Never experienced that on my Genos1. I enjoy the superior sound quality and other upgrades, but there are some glitches and annoyances that I hope they will address with firmware updates...
Hallo Leigh, could you make a video dedicated to the church pipe organ samples of Genos2 please? Even using some examples of Church organ layered with female/male voices and harpsichord layered with orchestral strings, if possible. Thank you and I wait your video. There is a chord track so the device knows the scale…. Wouldn’t be a big deal for Yamaha to add such a feature where only the notes of the current scale were put out
