My nephew bought a Model 3 late last year. Anyone who believes that Tesla has even the slightest concern about their existing customers should take notice.

Super well done. That dude has a very pleasant way of speaking that is a joy to listen to. Also, fascinating to hear how the company was started. I love people talking about their work.
At 2:22 there are test circuit boards shown standing on edge in a metal frame / shield. These pcb's need to be placed in Electrostatic Discharge safe packaging, or at least stored on a grounded safe workmat like the blue one shown on the test bench behind them. This should be standard practice in any electronic service / repair facility. Training for your crew may need to be re-visited. ESD damage can not be seen without a microscope and may cause future intermittents or outright failures.
Yes and no. Electrostatic discharge damage is a real problem and can lead to difficult to diagnose problems, exactly as you mention. However most circuit boards today are designed with lots of internal grounding and static discharge paths that protect against damage from static electricity. This is something that is designed for and can be tested. That said, it's still a good practice to use static protection procedures, including anti-static bags for storage.
To be open and fair - the Tesla $30,000 battery "replacement" mentioned (around 7:22) is an upgrade from the original factory one, which allows owners to go from 240 miles per charge to closer to 400 mpc;. That is what costs the extra. Earlier when describing how they started doing Roadsters, he mentioned that Tesla charges $10,000 for a new battery.
Well that's OK then ! Only 10k to replace your (gasoline tank) OR for ONLY 3 times the price, you can drive bit over 50% further. BARGAIN, I'll have two please 🤣
Height depends on the size of the object you are working with. For example watch workers often have counters above elbow height. Maybe these tables were there from the ups days when they had large UPS control units on top to be able to look into them. I'm just guessing.
I could be wrong, but a lot of people have glasses that tint themselves. They go dark pretty quickly but going light takes a bit longer. So you can come inside and have another good 15 min of dark eyeglasses.

Yup, very sad, indeed. That very same vehicle spent one night in my garage, long ago, en-route to a Electric Car Rally about 14 y/a. It was really low and quick - like a bullet. Now anyone can buy a Model 3 (Performance) and experience that thrill too!

If Tesla manage to make their cars to get plug in to your house grid, they can let people to use their cars as a battery storage that can use in case of emergency. This will help the batteries of the car to not have the low voltage problem that is explained in this video.
same thing happened to the Model T actually. "no shortage of parts" and suddenly that $500 us dollar car was back on the road again. interesting to think of the value of these batteries as back up power/storage unit for a solar power install.

Very informative video. Good job! I suspect in the coming months and years as Tesla vehicles proliferate we will see more facilities like Gruber's. Especially when the factory warranty runs out and repair or replacement of batteries, electronics and motors are needed as in the case of the original Roadster and older Model S and eventually other models as they age.
