Thanks very much I love your programme. I have a 119 with red lettering on plate also I have a 612 both working and complete with tools. Hoover certainly knew how to build a vacuum cleaner in those days

Hello Gordon, the 119 is the best junior that Hoover manufactured, it is quieter and smoother running than the 1334 range that replaced it in my opinion. The colour scheme is just right too as with its larger brother the superb 612.

A great series of videos showing the full servicing of Hoover 119 Junior vacuum John, love the extra tips such as twisting the copper wire to form the roundell,
straight from the bench of the Hoover Engineer. Many Thanks !!

Thank you so much Mike, it is indeed an honour for me to receive a kind comment from yourself and especially as we are both fans of the 3224/3226 Keymatics, the best auto washer ever made bar none.

I have this model and matching dustette with tools as it was my father's mother's first vacuum and last I ended up with it as I got her house after she passed away as I lived with her. She be proud to see it still going even though I have a new ish Henry. Now I am going to take on the job of replacing the cleaning tools hose from the cloth to a generic black plastic hose I wonder is that an easy thing to do. Your greatfuly

Thanks for the comment Conor. It should be simple to replace the hose, it's a long time since I encountered a braided hose, they were glued and tied on with twine. The plastic replacements we used were easy fit push on. If the braided hose is not ruined why not keep it authentic?

Hi Kirbyfan, 612 is IMHO the best post WWII upright cleaner, it looks superb, cleans well and is reliable.

Excellent entertaining video on the completion of refurbishing and servicing of the Hoover Junior 119 . They are fantastic vacuums like you said. Have throughly enjoyed watching the series of videos on it . Did you ever complete the videos on the Hoover Junior 370/375 as found this fascinating too . Brilliant stuff John

So Glad you liked the video, however the Hoover videos are not very popular and get few views to be honest, when you consider that another bloke on RUclips gets over 4 million views for a video sweeping up leaves one wonders if I would get more views just doing something like that! I don't think I did any more 375 videos. There is not much demand to do further Hoover videos really, they do take a lot of time.

scrimperuk that is a shame John as I really enjoy watching your Hoover videos and you have given me some great tips on servicing them . Has saved me a lot of time when servicing our 1334As we use as regular cleaners at home and the 119 we use at our static caravan together with a Hoover Dustette. They do a superb job there and at home. People who have stayed there with us have commented how good they are . Keep up the excellent work on your excellent videos and the sense of humour you have. Great entertaining viewing
