    #highporositysquad 🙌🏾 I used to deep condition under a hooded dryer, but because our cuticle is lifted, I found that we don't necessarily need additional heat for the product to penetrate our hair. I find that for me putting on two plastic bags after putting in my dc, and then a head wrap sometimes, it works exactly the same. I don't see a difference at all. The heat from our bodies is ample enough heat. Try it and see if it works for you! You can cut out the dryer 🙌🏾

    Learned I need a lot more protein- Every two weeks. Henna treatments once a month. Moisture deep conditioner Every two weeks. Strong hold gel for sealing my curls. Wash and Go. Sadly I can’t find one that is botanical they can properly seal in the moisture for my high porosity curls. Wetline and eco styler only work… I actually only use products that contain oils - additional oils aren’t needed, and I produce enough oils on my scalp fine. Banding method at night!

    I’m high porosity, type 4 hair, I do not like wash n gos either, My go to is twist outs, they work so well on my hair. I’ve been totally natural since 2014 and decided try a silk press in 2015, BAD IDEA! Got heat damage all over. I’ve been heat free ever since! It took me about a 2 years to get rid of the damage. I finally got my curls back in 2017 and now I stay away from direct heat too! Now I only use indirect heat for my DC’s under my hooded dryer! Keep the good videos coming!

      Naturally Tracy Wow! I just had a much needed trim last Saturday. Believe it or not I go to a white woman in Gainesville for trims only, she does diva cuts! I like that she doesn’t think it’s necessary to straighten your hair in order to trim it. I think it's the person doing the press as well. I went to cosmetology school and if its smoking. It's a no go. I see so many stylists on social media damaging the hair with a press and its awful. It's about the products, blow dry , and then heat. You should be able to silk press at 300- 350 degrees depending on fineness. I have high porosity, med density, fine and press my hair one every 2 weeks at 300-325 degrees and have no damage. Lately I haven't pressed but i always watch stylists closely. If it start smoking? I'm outta there

      @@arithevirgo914 I think it has a lot to do with going long periods without heat, and then going to get high heat put on your hair. Naturals don't put a lot of heat on their hair at all so that high heat can fry the hair especially if you're high porosity. I'm dealing with the heat damage now.😂

    Same!! My hair does not like being styled when wet…even though it feels soft. If I do, the next day my hair will be hard as if I never even moisturized it. But when I moisturize my hair after it’s 100% air dried, it will turn out so soft…do you know why?

    • @mhfmful
      @mhfmful Год назад +2

      I have the same problem. I wish I knew the answer. Because the front of my head is high porosity and the back half of my head is low porosity, after shampoo, I add the LIC to the whole head and moisturize and seal only the back, and when the front is dry, I moisturize and seal the front half. If I'm using a new product, I will do my whole head to see if the moisture will last, so far I haven't found anything that does, but I'm okay with that. Its just great to know that I'm not the only one dealing with this peculiarity.

      Naturally Tracy are the videos in the link? Was there a reason that you stopped using some of them? Since most products don’t mention high/low porosity what do we look for to know if it is? Or is it all trial and error??

    • @naturallytracy5602
      @naturallytracy5602  4 года назад

      Yes they are linked you can also scroll through my videos and find them whenever you’d like! 🥰
      I stopped using them because my hair started to change. My hair got used to some. As a natural your hair will go through changes it’s kind of fun and annoying at the same time. Lol
      Well there’s no specific deep conditioner for one hair type. You just have to use more protein DCs compared to someone who is lower porosity. I alternate between protein and moisturizing DCs
      However, you need to try products on your hair to see if you like them. It’s all about learning your hair. 🥰 I’ll make a video in the future about high porosity hair and what helps. Hopefully that’ll help a lot! ♥️
