So glad I found you! Our fourth child, second daughter, was born full term stillborn and her name is Naomi! SO precious to see your sweet Naomi! We are also wanting/slowly preparing to adopt a baby with Down Syndrome through the NDSAN! It's been on my heart for a while now. Continually praying the Lord will provide for us if this is His will. God Bless!
I am so sorry about your little Naomi. And also WOW, that is awesome about the possibility of adopting. I would love to adopt another baby with DS if I could talk my husband into it. There is something for sure special having them around.
❤🙏🫶 She is such a cutie pie. Thank you for all you're doing. It's really important for other parents to be aware, and also see that hallmarks are still hallmarks and need to be encouraged and celebrated.
This is now my favorite video about Naomi. Love, love, love the doll and the possibilities of the teaching doors it will open. The part about Hannah wanting to take care of Naomi when she grows up was priceless. Thanks, Leilani!
5:30- I 100% agree, after my neighbor's child was told he would NEVER read by "the specialists" (well 2020 happened and she was a nurse and school closed so I took over care) but in just 45 mins a day I taught him to read chapter books and WHOLE lot more by INCREASING my expectations and really making him WANT to read! I know it was God's timing, the mom had just cried to me and I told her the experts were wrong and not to speak that over him. Also, I just posted in another video of yours about how he will do adding and subtracting for me as we play games, but his school would never attempt that with him because of the "level" they place him at because of how he might do on a worksheet that does not work for him. Honestly, I think kids get board and need to really see what they can DO with what your able to offer as far as an education goes, kids want to play, all kids. Yes, he has DS, but the true issue to get over for him was what they claimed as behavioral issues (DD) and ADHD. I simply raised my expectations and REALLY got him to understand the rewards. In fairness he has always listened to my husband and I better than anyone else until just recently as he has seen the value in being good at school. Yes, I had to teach him differently, lots and lots and lots of simple repeating, but also moving forward BEFORE one thing was learned so it made more scene in the big picture and application. We might cycle back, after moving on. It's hard to explain, you need to take away all the "busy" get down to the "basics" but really "raise expectations" and make it "matter," matter to them. I was so willing to let him lead the direction of the lesson as I saw interest go in different directions. He likes to be a little ham, like yours, lol, so I taught him to read with inflection based on punctuation right from the start and he LOVED that and giggled as he got to SHOUT with all caps. We did not look at the pictures and guess, we sounded out the words, even sight words, and I explained what was really going on and took time on those till they were understood before we checked with the picture to see if we were right, if we were we might have a little mini party dance and then I would get RIGHT back to the intense lesson. If we sounded out a word like love I explained rules right away like, "English words can't end in V so add an E" and I would move on till the next time we sounded out a word that had the "ve" combo even though you typically would not say that to a starting reader or child with DS where experts act like you lower expectations on what they can learn, nope. Again, just 45 hours done with DEEP focus over 3 months sometimes 1.5 hours in a day, sometimes days missed, but always with a focus on goals not the clock, but then after all that work, that averaged to 45 mins x 5 days a week, he could read, and read WELL. And before someone claims he can't understand, he understands anything he WANTS to understand, even if he may need a little more time and help to understand it.
Oh sweetie you make me smile and feel so good inside. Shes pickin things up pretty quick. Her dolly will go everywhere with her. She is just precious when she looks at her baby
I tend to come back to this video and a few others when depressed, just seeing her little smile and her hugging the doll warms my heart and reminds me that there is beauty in this world. God bless your family, I hope one day I have a little girl or boy just as much of a little angel♡ People with down syndrome and other disabilities are precious, and should be protected and loved, nurtured and cared for♡ thank you so much for sharing such moments, and please give her a big hug for me
This is absolutely beautiful, my 7 year old daughter Georgia has the boy and girl (Amelia & Charlie) Georgia has Cerebral Palsy and Autism. I just subscribed to your channel xx
So cute! Naomi is so adorable with her baby! My 3 yr old daughter with DS just LOVES (live) babies and baby dolls. And I can really see those social skills in Naomi. She's so sweet - hugging you and her doll like that. :) Thank you for sharing! I will look into that doll!
ps. I just looked at their website and the shipping says they only ship within Australia... so sad! (maybe that's just because of Covid...) Did your dad get that beautiful doll for Naomi when he was in Australia? Anyway, thanks again!
Oh it probably is because of the virus. Man that stinks. I would call them and see what's going on if your really interested in purchasing. My Dad did get it shipped. It was suppose to be for Christmas but it took at least 6 weeks to ship. We received it around February.
Aww so precious Naomi is adorable my Goddaughter has Down’s and wish they had this on the market when she was little she’s 15 now and thinks she’s too old for dolls so she’d hit me with it but the child her would have loved it

Omg she is so precious. What a little sweetie. how old was she when she learned to walk? Another person I follow said her daughter was 3? Is that about the norm for down children? I'm just in love with them. They are so loving and kind. I had a neighbor with down syndrome I played with almost every day. She was maybe 2 years older than I was? But she was so funny. We laughed together a lot. But she had heart probs and died at age 22. Thank you for this video that doll is so fabulous. I think every down daughter needs one. To love and relate to

I beg to differ. I have a lot of friends that are black who have children with Down Syndrome. It has nothing to do with race.
That was a very sweet video, but I’m a bit confused. I thought your little girl’s name was Eve. Your UTube name is Living with Eve.
What about the belly and navel
I meant bellybutton
Does the doll have one? Yes.
