Pitch clock is the dumbest thing MLB has ever done. Say good bye to those awesome clutch ABs in big games where the pressure just builds and builds. Now, just get it and throw it. Ok for regular season, but really gonna hurt playoffs IMO.

shit is just deadass retarded, pitch clock so pitchers dont "waste" so much time, okay, but we'll also ban the shift so hitters who can't beat the shift have higher OBP and having more batters stepping to the plate! genius!

This is completely random and unrelated, but reminds me of a trick that shop owners and barkeeps would do in the old west with prospectors. They'd oil up their hair before work. Prospectors or whoever would come in and often times pay with gold dust or gold flakes that would have to be weighed out and some would often get stuck on the hand of whoever was handling it. These guys would run their hands through their hair and catch bits of this gold and at the end of the day or their shift, go home and wash it out into a wash bin. You might only pick out $0.20 - $0.50 of gold every night but you know what? That's still something, especially in those days.

There were a bunch of methods in the old days when legal tender was in precious metal. I think one of them was called 'sweating', where you'd have a bunch of coins in a bag, and jingle them roughly, collecting some dust and mini shards of gold or silver. Coin clipping was big too, literally just snipping or grinding off bits of metal.

As a professional mental health therapist, my secondary thought was some type of disorder after they did not find anything in his hair. This has to be a calming behavior, a tick, and/or a sign of OCD/anxiety. It could also be his routine like you see basketball players do when they are at the free-throw line, using the same routine before a shot to develop consistent muscle memory. My guess is that it’s a mental health condition based on the facts presented from the video. Some people feel they have to do things a certain way otherwise it can really negatively influence their daily functioning.

He literally yanks it...I'm shocked he doesn't have hair loss!!!! lol The right side of his hair looks like a surfers or swimmers hair sticking off to the side by the 10th pitch. When Mike Cleavinger pitches......his hair is always wet, down & he loves to step step with his feet (another odd comfort thing) and then he throws a pitch. Both his hair and feet movement for Cleavinger are an every pitch thing.

I was gonna say exactly this; could just as likely be some product in his hair or could just be sweat to get that combo of sweat+rosin. But honestly as someone that has grown out my hair at various times of my life, especially when the weathers hotter, yanking on it to straighten it at times becomes a tick that I don't notice. I'll pull on the back of my hair constantly trying to move it to a position I'm not even consciously doing until I notice or stop myself. Wouldn't be surprised at all if that's all it was especially with the weather and the fact he's pitching in the league again.
