Your videos are the best. I love it when you talk about the cost of living in New York City. It gives me that confidence to go out there and work harder
Loved this video!! You’re one of the most realistic NY creators I watch. I feel that living in NYC isn’t the easiest place to save up, there’s so many things to do and way too many opportunities to spend money. But I truly enjoy this city and I feel it’s worth it. Also I think earning potential is higher here! My friends and coworkers move up the pay scale quicker than I see in other cities.
I feel like over in the US you have this tipping culture so you tend to pretty much tip for every small thing that you buy. Over here in the UK we're not really obliged to tip unless we ourselves really want to. I don't really tip unless I thought the customer service was worth tipping. When it comes to weddings I would say if you were to go by yourself gifting around £50 seems fair, it depends how well ik the couple who are getting married.
Do you have any tips on finding a studio (no roomates) for around 2k maximum and i want to be able to commute to the east village in 45 mins (i will work there)?
Agreed, but that's also about how much it truly costs! It can also get more expensive unfortunately when you live solo vs. live with a partner (say, one person covers dinner that night and other person covers lunch vs. both being your responsibility)
Hi im a new subscriber. Id live to make the move myself one day 😊. Do you have a video where you break down your income/how you afford living in newyork
welcome!! I hope you get to too :) and yes, here's a video on my different income sources and my update on living here ruclips.net/video/KoJDE_LDbJA/видео.htmlsi=Ct7f_4UmVOqQILGV
Greay video. You didn't spend as much as i expected at all. And your place is so cheap in comparison. My move is in the fall and I barely see any studios under $2500 😭
Standard wedding gift is supposed to be at least the average cost of one’s attendance plus an amount for the bride and groom. The average banquet hall wedding is $100 per person in attendance, and when I went I doubled that amount but one does not necessarily have to. This is what people have done as far as I am aware. It is unfair but in my culture anything less will be considered rude.
Im in Canada and if you are spending a $1000USD a week + your fixed expenses..thats $9000CAD a month! Your fixed expense is my mortgage for 2 bed/2bed penthouse. lol None of that looks fun. Yes you live in NY but it doesnt seem like you are doing much since you even said you are 'homebody'.
happy sunday!! worked until almost midnight to get this video out for y'all 🫶🏽 who was shocked by the grand total? 🫣
I was shocked

Thanks for the work. Thanks for Financial Transparancy. Think Global... Act local. It is important.
Tipping culture is out of hand forsure! Seattle is the same! And I stopped tipping when I get coffee😂
felt this!! NYC is $$$ but I love it too much to sacrifice my well-being and leave to save some money. Also, wages are higher, but not good enough.
v interesting, cost of living in nyc is def 😭😭 💸💸
frrrrr

1k a week is so outrageous! 😂
imagine if I added in clubbing/drinks and more commute 😭

I think I did pretty good too, but why did the price go up like that😭 good luck on that move!!
NYC has been ranked the most expensive city in the United States, you shouldn’t be surprised that it’s “more expensive than most states”
I could afford to live in NYC for one week. LOL. I usually give $100 for a wedding gift. I always give money. Peace 🕊️
it's definitely rough 😭 thank you for your insight!!

such a good take!
I give around $100-$150 as a wedding gift dependent on if I’m apart of the wedding or not
yup I usually range within that too!
I give $100 as a couple.
you are so lovely!
❤️❤️
The video was helpful
what about medical insurance cost??
You don't say how much you make?. How much do you save? New York is too expensive. Do you invest any money?
❤❤❤
Do you pay your friend if she drives?
Nope he didn't ask us to pay since it wasn't too far :)
@@mohuyakhan nice! This was my first video Iof yours I watched! Loved it. Found you thru Chelsea
