back then when i tried emulating this game, the two strongest impressions it left me were: -damn this is so hard to control -wow they really put sonic thru the grinder this time around
It's good to know that the most extra time they give you to beat the final rush is 5 seconds, though I do wonder if that much time is even accessible outside of TAS, given that everyone else I've seen beat it just barely did so in the nick of time -- if at all. Extremely clean run overall; I doubt it could be pulled off in a real arcade machine with how janky the physical controls actually are, but still very clean.
Impressive! But it does lead me to wonder if a 100% run is even possible considering the formation some of those rings took. I definitely spotted some X shaped ring formations, for example. Then again, a TAS can make almost anything possible. Any chance of a 100% TAS of this game in the future?
I've actually played this arcade, and this TAS makes it look easy, which it isn't. The game is controlled with a trackball, and some of the precise movements seen here are are almost impossible. Good job, TASers!
7:34 "Oh boy, it sure is great down here! The movement is SLOW, it's BORING, and I'm UNDERWATER! Oh well, at least I can't drown in this game!" Also, it really got to the point where you didn't even fight Eggman, he just knew he was fucked, so he activates the tower's self-destruct sequence, then runs off. He actually uses his brain for once.
Sonic's commitment to going fast was so powerful, that even in an enormous death trap like this he refused to collect rings to save frames in the score tally. ...oh wait, never mind, there were a couple he couldn't skip.
I know, but speedruns, man. Getting all of the rings means time wasted on the score results screen when the game has to take time to tally up everything.
Alternate Title: "Sonic Has a Really Bad Day"
Sonic Gets Chased by Literally Everything
Sonic meets 2 forgettable friends.
Alternate alternate title: "WAAAAAA"
They got their money out of that Waaaaah sound effect, sheeesh.
"Waaaaaaa!"
A co op run with 3 players would be insane

This game is intended to be 0kayed with a trackball, so that was probably your problem
@@ninjacat230 damn that sounds even harder to control; sonic the pinpoint barrier system

Hi. One of collaborators here. Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed it. And let us know what were your thoughts on it. :)
Thats what I was hoping for to, 100% rings. But I liked this a lot as well!

Pretty sick TAS, man! I didn't think I'd ever see a TAS of this game!
No English cheat?
SegaSonic - "Waaaaaaaaaah! Edition"
I could watch the rings rotate all day. Such a beautiful animation.
Sonic "Waaaah!" count: 8
(I expected a lot more since the 1st level had 5 of them)
*"WAAAAAA!"* , I never seen this game before, what a beautiful animation!, Awesome TAS!
A small detail that I really appreciate about this game: When Sonic's running, he *actually* kinda looks like a real hedgehog.
Sega really needs to bring this game back.
Looks kinda fun.

Oh shit, I can't just hold to the Right!
Waaaahhhh the Hedgehog.
*‘WAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa’*
"Waaaaaahhhhh!"
Even for the time when the game came out I feel that the animations are very well done.
Would've been cool to see a Saturn port of this, adding another Sonic to the poor Sonic lineup the Sadturn had :(
A classic! I'm amazed this has never been ported before
it’s the trackball controls, pretty sure they actually did want to put this into gems collection, but couldn’t due to the control scheme
SegaSanic the Edge: Journey through Pingasland.
No one
Literally no one:
Sonic at any minimum fall: *waaaaaah noises*
*_WAAAAAAH_*
In fact, that's the thing I still remember about it after hearing about it.
I've had the pleasure of playing this, kitbashed into a Golden Tee cabinet for the trackball. It kinda works but it's also quite tough.
Ah, yes, SegaSonic is my second favorite character after NintendoMario
I love it when Sonic goes "WAAAAAAAA-." Trully, a great game.
this game should be called sonic WAAAAAAAAAAAH with how many fucking times he does that stupid scream
it's done 6 times in the first minute i counted

10:37 me and my crew running full speed ignoring all of the crazy explosions behind me because we wanna look bad ass like this is a Michael bay film.
Is it me or the game's graphics are actually kinda cool
It was a System32 machine, same board as Rad Mobile, Revenge of Death Adder, and Jurassic Park. Last of the great sprite-flingers.

Yooooo I thought this wqs one of those parody animations until I checked the title 😂 What a charming game!
i could imagine a tas of this game with 3 players, no doubt. This is insanely good not gonna lie lol
10:07 cool voice
I can't believe "SegaSonic" isn't a typo

New objective in sonic: avoid coins at all cost!!!!
mission completed, there are no coins in sonic!
Sonic WAAAAAAAAAAAAH - the game
I had no idea they made a game like this. Interesting.
well that was cool though
This was a cool TAS! I wonder if we'll get to see a TAS of WakuWaku Sonic Patrol Car or SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter in the future?
WAAAAAAAAAAHHHH
Is that Korone in the art at the beginning?
What a different sonic game, i grew up on sonic 1,2,3,& knuckles
Eggman has gone soft over the years.

Collect gold rings to massacre your enemies.
I had no idea that this game could be emulated!
Wow I never knew Sonic had such a good Waluigi impression
WAAAH
Now I wanna see one with 3 players.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
I bet you seethed when you had no choice but to get those 2 rings.
Is there any way to avoid the rings at 8:22?
It kinda kills me to see him miss all the rings.
I know, but speedruns, man. Getting all of the rings means time wasted on the score results screen when the game has to take time to tally up everything.
me too, i love the ring collect sound
waaaaaah
kind of ringless run
Can you please do tas of super mario 2 1998?
This makes me wonder where all the effort went for other Sonic games. This is just so clean and unique....just saying
SegaSonic > Sonic
