- As wild as it sounds, after a year of delays, XDefiant is finally here. With it, we now have a whole host of content upcoming for XDefiant that we've got coming but firstly, I wanted to take some time and discuss something you should be doing before even jumping into your first game: Getting your settings in order. Whether on console or PC, there's some 29 game changing settings that you'll want to take advantage of, some you'll want to test out for yourself that are entirely subjective and more. So as we go along, drop your thoughts on the XDefiant launch thus far, if you're looking forward to anything in particular or whatever it may be you'd like to discuss. For the time being, servers are pretty messy. Took me a few hours to get into some matches. If you're having issues, what worked for me was queueing and then tabbing over to my loadout tab in my menu then didn't touch anything until I joined a match. Weird, but fixed the issue for me. Hope it can work for you too!
Additionally, for some reason Private Zones are not enabled? Surely has to be a bug as all studio comms pointed towards this being a launch feature, so apologies for suggesting testing settings in there, I (incorrectly) assumed it would be up and running by now after the server fixes.
Can we change servers like Europe North America Asia?? Or there will be one default regional server?? Please let me know ☺️

Yes, my first game felt okay, all the rest have been horrible for me, dying instantly veil everyone else just tanks the bullets on pc!
Yea,just chalked it up to being on console & not being able to switch to 120,even though my TV & PS5 supports it???
Yup just awful lag compensation that all shooters have to disguise lag and match people to games faster disguising the bad quality, over actually searching for games with players of better ping

Nope. I'm on PC with 200+ fps and gigabit ethernet and I'm having the same issues. Weird "loose" feeling to the gunplay too.
The Welcome Playlist is the only mode working for me, when i try dom or zone control it just instantly says 'Unable to find Match' 💀
The flashbang setting changing to dark is ingenious. It’s the most jarring effect in video games for me so GG’s to them 👏🏼

Thanks for the advice! I'll be testing out your suggestions. I had a go at the game yesterday, but I haven't quite formed a solid opinion yet. One thing I did notice was that the movement, particularly using the right thumb stick, felt a bit clunky compared to the smoothness of COD MW 3 2023. Additionally, I found it challenging to keep my reticle centered, which became problematic given that I typically play hardcore mode in Call of Duty (where fewer bullets are needed to kill compared to core mode). As a result, I was constantly getting taken out because my aim wasn't quite on point. XDefiant seems to blend elements from Overwatch 2, Fortnite, and old-school COD Black Ops. I plan on tinkering with the settings and investing more time into it to see if I can find a setup that works better for me.

Enjoying it thoroughly, even though after playing the server test session I was a little down on the game. I had to work for the first part of the day when the servers weren't working, so as far as that goes I havent really had any issues. I will say that the main thing I have to grip about is on one or two of the maps its pretty easy to get spawn killed, felt like I was playing CoD but that's to be expected.
Any settings to find a match?

I've had some mino hit registration, but other than that, it's been smooth. Sniping is smooth as well

I had a terrible experience in both betas so I had low expectations but damn this is actually really fun. And I see a lot of complaints but I had no issue finding games very quickly last night. Def have some work to do but for me this was a great start

I can tell who ACTUALLY played the OG CODS by the ”sprint cancels reload settings”. The sprint to reload cancel is COD 101. Really surprised you recommend it be turned off
Facts!! These settings are recommended for players that are new to shooters or are just average.I don’t even use these guides anymore.Def keep on sprint reloads.😊

anyone else having issues on 2160 resolution, when i try to change it to to 4k game automatically pop into window mode and doesnt allow me to go in 4k resolution
Am i the only person who uses the controller layout to swap melee and jump? when jump is on the right stick, u can jump and turn without moving your thumb across the controller.
The fact they launched a brand-new game which will bring brand new players but some restarted employee in a team made a call to disable the practice zone on launch so that we can gate keep the game for sweats!? Like dafuq!
Turning off crossplay in the Xbox system causes so many games to freak the heck out. Great video, subscribed for the content and launch of XD!

Feels like an inferior ADHD generic arena shooter with clunky wooden movement. Not sure it brings anything new to the table
Exactly how I feel! I feel slow and clunky. Definitely not gonna replace cod for me but I did have fun. If they could make it more smooth I’d play it

I wish I could use the practice mode thing. It’s not available for me rn. I guess there must be some bugs they’re working on or something. I want to try different settings without having to deal with real players yet.

I’m on ps5 with a Ethernet connection and wired controller and it still feels off.

I think they fixed servers for me at least. Took me 2 hours to fine 1 game. Now it’s finding a game in about 20 seconds every time

Other than the server issues (not be able to find a match), ive had a blast on this game.
Some minor hit reg issues, ill die after getting around a corner from time to time. Ill have my shots no-reg every once in a while. But over all, im quite pleased. Im hoping some of these minor issues are just from the servers being overwhelmed while the community all loaded it up.
Most of the maps are fun. Ive ran into some cool people on VC already. Ill be leaving COD on "OFF" for a while. Hoping i can get my friend group to give COD a break and play XDEFIANT. This game will be a ton of fun with a team using comms and using their abilities strategically.

Cant get into practice range. Its tough to see enemies and imho hit markers n sound effects are weak .. BUT ! Im actually haveing some fun regardless …
Me and my friend were playing yesterday and the first two games we got top of scoreboard then after that each game it felt like we werent doing any damage and getting absolutely destroyed.
Believe it or not kids, back in the day we used to play the game and figure this out for ourselves.

my game is crashing upon loading to match, just instantly crashes, tried both direct x-s, i have 6800xt sadge
I've never played any of the play tests for this game, and managed to only play one game yesterday. But this game feels very weird. The aim assist feels non existent, its like my aim is all over the place, and the enemies just sponge bullets, yet i die in like 2 bullets on my end. It has a very different feeling to cod, for some reason. I'm hoping its just me and my rustiness rather than game. Also only god knows why they made the sensitivity parameters so wide in range, its such a pain to find the best settings. There also needs to be a standard TDM playlist without any abilities, they get very annoying very fast.
When are custom button layouts coming out???
Im really enjoying this refreshing new objective based fps. Only complaint so far is sometimes i personally feel like i def ran behind the wall/cover and i still die. im not sure why it feels so prominent currently. IMO

I have been playing fps games for years, this game really makes me feel like I am actually bad at aiming and it is so frustrating when I seem to take full mags to kill people while getting melted by the enemy.
I feel like there is slight input lag, feels very delayed when I’m looking and aiming. The game is fun but it just feels off

Controller won’t even work for me without jumping through a ton of hoops. Just putting it down until they roll out some major patches. It sucks waiting a year for a game and it’s not playable

It’s so annoying that xbox doesn’t have the turn off crossplay option in game.
I've played around with sensitivity settings and nothing I've tried feels right. It just feels so clunky moving around. I'm a controller player and in cod I'm at max sensitivity.

What's the best competitive input curve for controller. I played default on games with no options which feels exponential and ive played linear on fortnite for consistency. What is S curve.

Personally i think this game still needs a lot of work with how the gun play feels, to me currently it feels wonky, the hit reg, ttk/ttd, enemy footsteps, ect.

Well MW3 has the strongest controller aim assist out of probably any game right now. So it's going to feel different because you have to actually aim.
