Because it could be look weird seeing regional champion doing gym battle, that why they cant do old school way but replace it with world Championship
And the only way to do old school way is by featuring a new character that they should be done back in gen 8

I feel like they are going to introduce Arven later by the time they will tackle the whole herba mystica storyline (if they are even going to do it )

People talking about arven but I'm still wondering if DLC character such Kieran and BB elite 4 will appeared in anime, but trust me its not easy to include all game character into the anime, even during Ash era not all elite four appeared in anime
They even put kabu for the plot, not only for doing something that journey should do if Ash never win alola league
Also the other thing to "pause" the 6 heroes arc, was also that Liko and company can get stronger to face both the explorers toe to toe, but also able to finally defeat Rayquaza, that, if you ask me, Rayquaza is acting like Tapu Koko to Ash, a legendary pokemon that is testing our heroes, and little by little is giving them aprobal, but are still not strong enough. In the end i hope to see Fuecoco and Quaxly at least evolved on their second stage, ads probably the others as well
7:08 or maybe they will happen at the same time simultaneously but instead of the protagonist’s job,it will be Friede’s job this time to save time for whatever GOOD plans they have in the future.
It was nice seeing SV characters debut in the anime!!!! And the new opening & ending were good!!! Showing new things like the SV character Aces & how the OP ended with 11 Pokeballs thrown up, Meaning the trio Might catch 5 New Pokemon cumulatively!!!! It was interesting how they're doing Assigned Gym Battling!!! And Liko VS Ann battle was great!!!! Ann was battle-prepped with Dewott's Aerial Ace & Detect, but wasn't prepared for Floragato's yoyo tricks for the win!!!!
I know right? This was a real good start to the school arc, loved seeing Nemona and how she really wanted to battle but poor timing stops her. The Liko vs Ann battle was a good one, can tell how much Liko has grown so far, I wonder when they will rematch. Also the explores literally signing into the school is interesting, excited for next with the big gym battle. 💚
6:00 I think this is their new running gag which is better than the “Liko doesn’t recognize who is Nidothing” gag imo but I hope they don’t overuse it.
I think it will be just like Nidothing: that it will be done for just a lil bit and then be resolved quickly after that
I wish Ash could've challenged the gym leaders of Galar as part of his quest to reach Leon, Galar was neglected hard but I get it because the anime was still in it's experimental phase
Last arc kinda dragged a bit, but things look like they're back to speeding up and I'm definitely excited to see what's in store
Also, as an aside, I like how Liko, Roy, and Dot aren't fooled by the Explorers' disguises. It was annoying after a while how Ash and co would fall for TR's even when they were half-assing it, but I like how perceptive the new protagonists are.

This might be the first time we see all the trio participate in gym challenge instead of just 1 of them
Also i love how liko use "disable the weapon" Technique in this episode, its rarely happen in the anime

Who could believe that Liko is the only one who evolved her Starter Pokemon? How long till we see Roy and Dot doing that?

Penny is in this episode.... so 10/10.
I share your opinion with the amount of new characters introduced feeling overwhelming. It wouldn't have hurt them to spread out these debuts a bit more. Penny literally does *nothing* but just stand there, without saying as much as a single word.
I agree,but I am hopeful that this was just for introduction purposes and that we get to see more of them in the near future ^-^

Of course that would be the case xD I expected nothing less from the internet
The fact that they are running through the gyms as an *arc* instead of as the *centerpiece* of the series is honestly going to be such a godsend.
It means that there will be less filler and more action, which means that the pacing is gonna be great. Even the best paced "formulaic" generations had to deal with some hit-or-miss filler.
It's also a great chance for some character development that's only gone through some of its first stages so far.
Really love what they are doing with Horizons, Anipoke is really redeeming itself after Journeys
What type of school are Dot, Liko and Roy attending? Are they going to challenge gyms while leaning Tera Raid?
They will be attending Naranja Academy & They're apparently being Assigned Gym Battles to help them with their Tera training-learning

I wonder if the anime takes place after the events of the game, concidering Penny is with the elite 4 when we first see her, because in the post games Geeta "requests" Penny to join the Pokemon league because of her tech skills.
That's what it feels like; Penny only seemed to show up along with Rika & the rest of the Elite 4; so perhaps she's doing her probation volunteer work already & Rika is her overseer possibly. I mean it makes sense why the anime would have a hard time doing Starfall (I mean for starters the trio can't really do a Team Rush), but more specifically I guess it'll depend on How they introduce them. Keep in mind Pokemon Horizons is still oriented to a Young Audience & Team Star's origin of their formation was from Bullying; so doing it carefully upon those regards would be kinda difficult

I hope this arc is not dragged too long because it would be a bummer. However, IMO this is meant to make Liko, Roy and Dot stronger so they do not have to always rely on Friede and are able to master Terrastal phenomenon. But i do want to see the Lucius storyline and Terrapagos getting its final form.
I am so hyped!!! I cannot wait for Liko to use Terrastalisation....I HOPE THIS ARC IS NOT TOO LONG THOUGH, BECAUSE I WANT THE LUCIUS THING BACK AND I KINDA MISS RISING VOLT TACKLERS tbh.

1. When will you ever be proud of Ash for not losing for once in his whole league career? Every time it’s brought up, you always sound disappointed, like you want him to be frustratingly be robbed of his victory by hacks (Looking at you Tobias, who even let him in the tournament?)
2. Why can’t you just wait to upload the Q&A on a Saturday? Are you obligated to upload the Q&A the same day you finish it?
What all powerful Pokémon Liko, Roy and Dot each have which is enough to help them challenge gyms? Do they have anything in common with Ash?

I think he just love oshawott better than it's evolutions.
It's just a preference of mine since I loved Oshawott so much back in the Bw days ^^ he'll I beat the final boss of Legends Arceus (no spoilers here) with an Oshawott in my team xD

Too many “important people” in one episode? Hm…I’ll save my insights for that for later writers. No,it’s not like it’s bad or agreeing completely to Long and Niall Kelly or anything. Their opinions about this topic actually makes sense. I have no problem with that. I will connect it to the Pokémon themselves when we get to that.
By the way,I like the new formula of battling gym leaders. They act as the “assessment tasks” in school unlike before which only one person doing all of that like they’re mere obstacles for their aim for Pokémon League. Someone already did that before and none of them have enough power at this time to beat a single gym leader. I hope in a way that they don’t just follow the “game’s guide” just to say,”Hey fans. We already covered the entire Paldea story. We’ll go back now to Lucius thing again,ok?” but get the game’s feature to the extent which is battling gym leaders in ANY ORDER.
Albeit it makes me wonder how they'll do the rest of the Gym Leaders though; it's 3 to 8 after all

Going back to the roots of how a Pokemon journey is meant to be done is why I love the direction. It was never broken, so why try and fix it? Even when it was done on repeat over and over, no one criticized it. The only criticism was Ash not winning a League.

Since I can’t send you a direct message, I’m telling you here.
I had a really crystal clear dream revolving around the upcoming Pokemon Legends game. The main and most important aspect of it is that there will be a Pokemon Anime special for the Z-A game, and it will consist of the XY family. Ash, Serena, Clemont & Bonnie! The thing about it is that there was a lot of scenes involving Amoushipping(🙈) but with Clemont & Bonnie acknowledging it and teasing Ash & Serena about it too! Note: I had this dream, possibly, a week ago(?) but nonetheless I was ultimately surprised and thrilled by the idea of it! The weird thing is too is that it just came out of nowhere, I wasn’t even watching any sort of Pokemon or anime! The most likely reason could be that I just thought about the possibility of some anime special revolving around the aforementioned Pokemon Legends game. This was also waaaay after I watched your Legends game speculation video, 10/10 btw.
Edit: I thought of it before I went to bed was what I was trying to explain but I’m not good with words😭
I'm ngl, I gave up on this anime about 15 episodes in. More of a chance than I gave to sun and moon and journeys, wonder if it's almost worth jumping back on the train now if this is actually looking promising rather than later
Just don't judge a book by its cover. At that moment, Horizons was in its initial stages of building the goals for its protags, so it felt kinda lame and boring at some moments. But it actually paced up after the point you are saying you left the show and right now, it seems like it's on its path to surpass XY. It has that potential due to the developments and proper sequencing.
Give it a try once more. You're gonna love it.

Idk about the new formula not working because it definitely worked on Sun and Moon. Journeys just isn't handled well.
The reason its working on sun and moon becausr theres no gym battle in the first place, but totem battle and kahuna battle still give us gym battle vibes since we got something like the z crystal
Journeys was more handled well than AG, DP, and XY.
