This is incredible - The BBC! Full of UK MPs saying that there is a supply excess which will last for at least 4 decades, without new exploration. Yet they claim this is a liability for an Independent Scotland and that it is running out! Scotland - we need to see through the lies and see the benefit of this resource for our families, our kids, our grandkids

This is absolutely quite accurate and if we look at how mainly Labour has betrayed Scotland from Harold Wilson in 1974 to Blair in 1999 who changed the English sea rights without it being made known to the Scots in general although the traitors in the Scottish Office signed off on it. See the following posts,

You're right there Robbie Donald Dewar and Tony Blair they could only do that as Scotland is a member of the UK after independence those sea boundaries have to revert back to there origional position by International Law, Maritime Law, UN and EU laws

    License's which can be withdrawn.

90% of the oil is Scotland's and when we get our Independence the 7 oil fields in the 6000 sq mls of Scottish seas that were stolen from us by Westminster in 1999 will be returned to us. It's an absolute disgrace that Scotland is only one of the two countries in the World, the other Iraq, to have found oil but have no oil fund. Worst still the revenue was used to keep the London Casino ticking over, build the Channel Tunnel, motorways in England and so on. Scotland got nought.
Scotland is still swimming in oil. Recent news highlights that there have been massive finds in the last few weeks. Not reported in the news of course. Jim Rodgers also points out on RUclips ... Brexit: when Scotland leaves and takes their oil England is in real trouble.

Meh, it is Shetland and Orkney Oil, Westminster needs to give these islands that Edinburgh stole from Norway the opportunity to remain a special status in the UK and reclaim their waters and the oil within. It is a disgrace that Scotland is planning to steal the Islands Oil to keep the IMF from its door whilst the price is high. Yep, referendum for Shetland and Orkney Islands to regain independence from Scotland within a UK

Luckily not all Scots are as anti-English as you, many joined with England and went to our colonies before you were even in the Union. I don't want you in the union at all if everyone is like you. Ungrateful fuckers, only have Orkney and Shetland anyway but for the power of Great Britain, now you're fucking bending over for the EU like a bunch of pathetic parasites....joining whatever union you thing will give you more money. Well you bet on the wrong horse this time. The EU is screwed, you're joining a crumbling union then you'll be left on your own, probably less Orkney and Shetland. We don't need to fake anything, you can't even convince Scots outside that shithole Glasgow. The pound only went down because morons like the Governor of the Bank of England and Cameron said the UK would be fucked, but hey, we're not and are still growing faster than Germany, France or Italy. Like the US this week, the FTSE is almost an all time high, anyway, off you go, go campaign to join that union, I'd like to see Nicola swallow Junckers junk just to retain your 12% export market in the worlds slowest growing market, lets hope they grow enough to but a little more of your whiskey over there eh once you lose the 55% you export to the rest of the UK. This guy is hilarious.
Scotland is a bampot economy - But England/Westminster should keep it/bail it out.
Following successful Indy vote Shetland/Orkney should get a vote to go with Scotland or England? - so I guess Isle of Wight/Jersey get the same vote?
Orkney is 10km from Scotland mainland - around 400km from England - But would be better managed by England than Scotland.
Shetlands nearest landmass is Scotland - but should be managed by England.
Your knowledge of the history of the Isles would fit on a postage stamp.
Both Orkneys and Shetland Isles were clan lands - invaded are ruled by norse before Scotland or England existed.
Sometime in the 15th Century - After the nation of Scotland was formed - The isles were handed to the Scottish crown by a Norse king in dowry for his daughter who married into the Scottish royalty.
The islands are Scottish - If the islanders dispute that, they can campaign for their own independence after Scottish independence.
But one thing is certain - after Scottish independence - what the Orkney/Shetland islanders want to do will have as much to do with England as the Isle of Wight will have to do with Scotland...

Norway has a Sovereign Wealth Fund, worth approx 400 billion Pounds, called The Norwegian State Pension Fund? Norway started to produce oil and gas at the same time as GB! I don't want to give you all the answers, but you should talk to some Norwegians.
The average Norwegian does not see any of that money. It is a huge private hedge fund.
The trick is this. The income from this fund is fantastic. BUT... The pension liabilities are tiny by comparison. So here is how the scam works.
The government and taxpayer contribute to this huge fund. It is one of the biggest shareholders in the world and derives a massive income. The cost of paying out pensions to pensioners is a small fraction of the income.
Where does the surplus income for this over funded pension go? That is the billion dollar question. The operator of this pension fund also has a great deal of power in corporations through the ownership of voting shares. They can dictate corporate policy and hire and fire executives.
This is the real value of pension funds, the pensioners get no share of the profits or value of this fund. It is a mirage.
It is like me using your car for 99% of the time and paying you off by giving you a lift to the airport when you go on holiday.

    • @bighands69
      @bighands69 10 лет назад

      wjestick
Pensioners are not suppose to get direct income from the fund it is not the goal of the fund to do this. The fund is a future security net that a government can use at any time if there is a crisis.
Since Norway has a very well run economy this has not happened to date but that does not mean it cannot happen there is an other word recession coming around the corner.
The new government is using some of the fund to invest in infrastructure so as to say it is not benefiting the country is simply not true.

I see that some people on here are bleating on about the price of oil: The drop. The price of oil fluctuates and at the moment is around $50 a barrel. This was the case between the late 60's until 2006 (over 35 years) and Westminster faired very well indeed with that. Oil over $100 a barrel was a rare phenomenon. Additionally oil revenue catering for 5 million people rather than 60 million makes a massive difference. Check out David Cameron's 'slip up' on the Marr Show in June (Brexit .... 13 minutes in) and you'll see what I mean. And by the way his comment about Noway having a population of 4 million is wrong. Norway has 5 million residents exactly like Scotland. Scotland with 1% of the EU population is it's largest oil provider (60%) and second biggest gas provider. It contributes 25% wind energy and 10% wave energy. With 9% of the U.K. population exports over 50% of food and drink and there's lots more. Waken up folks, see the light, see the truth, see through their lies and vote for Independence.

The New U.S. Territorial Waters would be managed by the appropriate State Government. This would have profound effects on Offshore Gambling and Offshore Banking Interests. The U.S. Military supports Ratification of UNCLOS II for Security Reasons. Ratification of UNCLOS II would grant U.S. Companies the legal right to mineral leases in the New Territorial Waters. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce supports Ratification of UNCLOS II for Economic Reasons. Mineral Leases and Mineral Mining in the New Territorial Waters is considered a Stimulating Economic Environment. Ratification of UNCLOS II would Seat the United States of America on the Rule Making Body of UNCLOS with veto power over New Rules. Write your Senator urging Ratification of UNCLOS II. Write your Governor urging support for Ratification of UNCLOS II.

Where sufficient water supply is available to cool Electrical Generating Plants an Electrical Generating Plant can be constructed on the Site of the Coal Deposit. This is an excellent way to supply Energy to a local Region. This is not a great way to provide Energy to a location a thousand miles away. Where sufficient water is available Coal can be converted at great cost onto Synthetic Oil. Once the Coal is Converted into Synthetic Oil it can be transported at very low cost. When the ratio is less than one it may be Economical to Convert Coal to Synthetic Oil. When the ratio is greater than one it is not Economically feasible to convert Coal to Synthetic Oil. The same is true for a decision to convert Coal to Synthetic Gas. Raw Coal can be ground up into coarse flour and flushed through Coal Slurry Sluice Lines. Take a coffee can of coal and grind it up in a meat grinder and pour the coffee can of ground up coal into the toilet and flush it. Same Principle!

Oil prices crashing worldwide, over 7,000 oil jobs lost in the last 3 months in Norway alone & their economy which relies on 20% of it's revenue on oil is in crises. There are big changes afoot internationally where those countries who have relied too heavily on oil are going to get a wake up call all too soon.

The mistake that Scottish Nationalists make, is believing Scotland OWNS the oil in the North Sea, it doesn't!
Scotland 'owns' a proportion of the tax which is levied on the companies who extract the oil.
In real terms, this is a fraction of the value of the oil, NOT 100% of it's income!
It's the companies who EXTRACT the oil who 'own' the profits, as they are the ones who finance it's location, extraction, refining, & sale.

I think the American Fracking boom and the subsequent plummet in oil prices renders this entire argument obselete. All of a sudden the stratergy of betting a country's future economy on the price of a volitile commodity doesn't seem so shrewd. Not heard much from Salmond and Sturgeon since the collapse in Brent crude and the subsequent desolation of the russian economy. Strange

Better together should talk about the 1000s of job losses in the shipping industry because all the Royal Navy contracts will end even the unions said will happen. They should talk about RBS (Scotland's biggest bank) which said they might move headquarters to London and 82% owned by UK government. They should talk about money which the UK government said are not willing to share. They should talk about American asking Scotland to keep the nukes in Scotland if they want to be in NATO which lot of people said they will as they are American nukes you know in British subs. They should talk about Spain blocking Scotland to join the EU because they don't want their own country to break up so they will make it as hard as possible to join the EU after. They should talk about the extra benefits the UK gets because of Thatcher which EU countries hate will most like be taken away if Scotland is allowed to join the EU. How hard is it to defend UK as it is easy but labour is not doing it well.

It is the truth. I also read that for Scotland to survice they need 1m immigrants as their are too many older people compared to working age people. I don't have a problem with immigration but that is a lot when there is only 5m people now which is 20% increase. England does not have that problem as there has already been mass immigration there. A million extra people would cause a lot of public sector problems. You must agree Scotland needs a lot more younger people and immigration is the only way as people will not just have more babies.

People don't go to Scotland that much. I think it is the weather but even though England had mass immigration there was nothing like that is Scotland. Most English people normally move south not north and I think the English think the Scots don't like them so I don't see that happening.

EU is just better option for this land and prosperity that single UK (ps. USA and CHINA is not going to make UK rich but will take more than give - knowing that you have no choice). Scottish people are getting fed up following blindly English mistakes. UK is a wrong set up. Ps. 2000 per head I think you believe statistics more tha reality of life in Scotland - people becoming poorer that Asia here. If UK really wants Scotland to be close partner lets do it after Independence. UK is a English Union to keep controle of sources and land of N.Irland ,Scotland and Welse.

@Tom Johnson Is it fair to leave EU when they did not wanted ? So make it easy to understand - Independent Scotland joining EU (as many post comunistic countries with bigger deficits and population - noting now 3% economical growth -Estonia , Danamark, Hungary ,Poland ,Czech,Malta etc) is going to be better with single market of UK or 27 countries trading supporting each other and becoming richer) 5 millione people is nothing for EU to rescue and make it better. UK =4 countries = 25% voting power each (why you did not do that befor?) UK set up is a fake democracy - Socrates democracy).ps. there is no Scottish investments when money goes to pot of so many people to share (5 milliones Scotland +59 in England ,Welse 3 milliones,N Ireland 1.5 ) so who get the most ?

William if Scotland votes to leave the union Scotland isn't becoming a republic the queen will still be head of state she is queen of Scotland and England mining consetions will still be granted by crown estates which in reality is just for show as the uk gov or the Scottish gov would have final say but as it's only 7-8 billion a year it's not really going to harm the uk gov too much if it loses the oil that and all the gas is in England's waters

The Oil is Scottish the Oil companies pay a license fee for every drilling platform and rig they get the oil we get the revenue for every barrel produced those licenses can be revoked at any time like just lately there was enough Scottish northsea gas found enough to keep the UK going for forty years the government pulled the Licenses on that field as they want to pursue fracking Osbornes father in law is involved with the fracking firms

    • @timmorgan4505
      @timmorgan4505 10 лет назад

It matters nothing if Osborne father is envolved in fracking pretty much every major gas and oil company is it's the future of gas and England is covered in it gas prices are going to go down not just because of that but also because Australia and whole host of other country's are also finding they can frack what I find so funny is I've heard scots claim all the revenue from North Sea oil is there's and not just the tax they think right there is 1 trillion pounds of oil so Scotland will get 1 trillion pound if Scotland votes to leave the union that's up to them but I don't think it will be a good idea
