    Could not be happier with the service from the Darkside team. Vans been up 4 or so times over the past 2 years. Would always go back and trust their judgment no matter what.

    I have a 2019 Caddy 2.0 102 HP with the 5 speed manual transmission. Without changing anything mechanical what is a reliable HP/NM values that can be achieved?

    • @DarksideDevelopments
      @DarksideDevelopments  3 года назад +1

      With just software you would be looking around 170-180bhp as these have the same engine hardware as the 140 models. They are let down by the 5 speed gearbox so we normally have to limit the torque for the stock clutch and flywheel

    • @cloterico

      The 5 speed gearbox is a let down.
      I just want a better engine response.
      My Caddy is the Maxi version, 7 seater.
      102hp and 250nm is short in some situations.
      My afraid of a remap is the gearbox and clutch....

    • @DarksideDevelopments
      @DarksideDevelopments  3 года назад +1

      @@cloterico As above with a good custom remap the torque can be limited and made progressive to prolong the clutch and gearbox. We have done quite a lot of these with no issues

    I'm currently on the hunt for a Caddy (2012 shape). I've been told the 1.6's aren't that good for tuning. How true is this?
    Would like a 2.0l but they seem quite rare and demand a lot more money.

    • @kyleb5518
      @kyleb5518 3 года назад

      I've never seen a 1.6 mechanically fail except for real high milers, these guys have got 304bhp out of a fabia with a 1.6, I recall Ryan saying that is the limit, but they are safe for low 200s I really wouldn't let 400cc scare you, they are light as far as vans go 👍

      Its worth keeping in mind that as they leave factory the base 1.6L (75hp at lowest, 84hp also sold, while upper is 102hp) makes barely over half the power of the top 2.0L (140hp highest, while lower is 109hp), and they all come with different transmissions (which can become a limiting factor when tuning), so its not as if there is only the 25% extra displacement between them as they come stock. That said the 1.6L can be perfectly reliable when tuned, so if your only looking to liven up the street manners of a daily runabout nothing wrong with saving a bit of coin.... but if your going balls out then its a lot more nuanced question about what part will fail first that will take more hands on experience with the engines than I have.

    • @DarksideDevelopments
      @DarksideDevelopments  3 года назад

      If you can find a 2.0 get it, if you tune a 1.6 you want a turbo and a map, anything more is a waste In our opinion. the 5 speed boxes are crap on 2.0 and 1.6.

    Heyup mate, I've got a question, not related to the video.
    I have a golf mk6 2011 2.0 gt140 diesel, Revo stage one remapped, eibach prosport 30mm springs, bilstein b4 shocks, brembo discs and pads, uniroyal rainsport3 tyres.
    It's my daily driver and it's a great car, but my issue is, the back feels too light and floaty! I've had it checked over by my local trusted vag specialist, and they said everything looks fine, bushes look in good condition etc etc. What can I do to make the back to feel more stable/planted? Also I've heard the Audi A3 control arms are an upgrade for my car?
    Any response would be helpful
