- In this video we go over the process of servicing the bearings that go in your Chris King hubs. The process is basically the same for servicing any Chris King bearing, but this is specifically focused on those that go in the hubs, and uses the appropriate grease for that.
As always, let us know if you have any questions, and if you need parts or tools, you'll find many of those below:

Great video. I really like the up close and detailed explanation of the process. And no cheesy background music!
Glad it helped! We try to keep it simple, so it's good to hear that you liked that!
Very good tutorial. I have been servicing my own Chris King HS and BB bearings for years and I learned a couple of good tips. Thanks !
We're glad you found it useful! It's great to hear that even for someone who's done it before, the video was able to be a help.
Very helpful, thank you!!
Very glad you liked it!
Thanks for a great instruktion video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼
Thanks. But my OCD-ometer was going off the charts because you refused to wipe off the grease stain on the work bench left by the rubber seal.
Wouldn't the WD-40 left behind inside the bearing after cleaning it break down the fresh grease?
I have a threadfit 24mm BB and attempted this. Do I need to flush the WD40 out with water, or will air do the job? I also have had a bear of a time getting the silver grease to flow from the same size bottle (bought from AVT bike). After doing this I've had a noisy BB; ordered a snap ring and seal kit and will be redoing the task to see what's up. Any additional advice? Do I do that same 1/3 grease amount?
Can this be done with the bearings in the hub? Don't want to have to buy the tool just to refresh the grease.
Yes it can and is recommended by Chris King. WD-40 isn’t recommended!
Well I do think you should have used a new rubber O-ring in this case, as suggested by Chris King.
I assume you're talking about the seal, which Chris King says can be replaced, but only needs to be replaced if it's damaged. Using the old seal usually results in lower drag because it's fitted itself to the shape of the bearing better than a new one, so there's an argument to be made that there's actually a performance benefit to be had by re-using the old one 😉. In either case, we stock the parts, if you or anyone else wants to replace seals when servicing bearings. That's just one of the really great things about Chris King bearings: you don't necessarily have to replace anything when you service them. Hope that helps clarify things, and thanks for watching!
Rubbish hubs. I bought them after having Hope RS4 for many years. Nothing but problems with these. Rattling noises. And servicing them after just 2 summers maybe 6000km is just bullshit.. Opened up and bearings totally dry like never had any grease in them.
Best hubs I’ve ever owned - including DT Swiss.
