We did not miss McDonalds either ;-) Getting invited a lot, we got so much different food to try and we loved it! We found the Iranian cuisine very unique, surprising and sometimes confusingly delicious.

great job AWBT ... a question / suggestion : when cycling uphill on steep slopes, wouldn't it be better holding the bike on our side using our hands and walking instead of riding it? after all, we can't go fast riding the bike under those conditions, can we?
Oh, we tried pushing and pulling our bicycles more times than we would like 🤣 Our finding is that, especially on asphalt, we prefer cycling as long as we do not fall over. This doesn't generally happen before we'll over 20% gradient with our gearing. It is much more efficient to pedal, even if it is very slow. However, if the ground is soft or loose, cycling can be untenable even without inclination.
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour "It is much more efficient to pedal, even if it is very slow." It is debatable because at a some point your climbing speed falls below walking speed and besides you are less efficient you refuse an easy and natural recovery of organism with oxygen.
It is not a matter of speed as long as one still has the balance to not fall over. Obviously, before that point, we drag/push the bicycle. However, in terms of energy use, cycling is much more efficient than walking as you don't have to push up your whole body weight with every step. Which bike would you recommend for travelling like you do? electric bike or ordinary? and manufacturer?
That really depends. Generally, touring with e-bikes can be great for many people because it is easier to cover longer distances.
For a journey like ours, they are not ideal, as we would have to make sure to find a wall plug for recharging every day, which greatly reduces the flexibility, level of freedom and spontaneous aspects if travelling we enjoy so much. It also adds more technical complexity and is harder to find replacement parts. So, as you can see, it depends on what is important for you.
