I’m a Stihl man. The only husky I run is my dog! I’ve got an 034 made in West Germany. Yours is USA, but its a red switch (which are sought after) that means it’s an early 1st or 2nd year production and are usually thought to have snappier timing and porting. Definitely still pre EPA carb crack-down era. These 034 are 57cc and the 034 super is 61.5 cc, and when discontinued, that one became the 036. I use mine with the 20” .325 it came with, or a 16” 3/8 bar for firewood. Sometimes I rip boards with a 24” skiptooth 3/8 mill attachment and it pulls strong

I've got an 034 I bought used in 2000. Just used as a home owner saw but I cut fire wood every year and clear trees off the property. Ben left outside in all weather and it's looking a little worn but still runs like a champ.

Nice video. Great saw. I have 023,025, 251,034AV, husqvarna 36 and husqvarna 55. 034 is my favourite. I bought mine from a farm clearing sale and it hadn't been started for at least five years and had fule left in it. New fule and it started right up. I had to replace the fule line and filter and clean the carb but that was it. I had a 039 for a while and it was good also but I like the 034 better. It has a bit more crack to it I reckon.

I have a Stihl 034 AV (made in West Germany, so from when there were still two Germany) I found this in a scrapyard. I also have a Stihl 025, MS 250 and a few Husqvarnas. Everyone is a hobby sawmill and sometimes firewood at work. So I live in Finland and here I have mostly used sawmills of this size, Husqvarna and Jonsered for example. Stihl has been a bit more expensive and maybe that's why fewer old ones can be found. Today it is otherwise: Stihl is a power brand here. In any case, it need a clutch and cover. Parts are still available as new and post-production, although without the stihl brand.
