This is proof that Axl still can sing nearly as good as he did in his prime. He just can’t do it as often, ‘cause that lifestyle and that singing technique takes its toll after so many years
This performance is over 9 years old, unfortunately he doesn’t sound nearly as good as this today

People talk about his voice, he damaged it over the yrs of this type of singing. I seen him about 5yrs ago he actually was bad ass!! Just got to see him at the right time ❤
Axel still has his voice, but his technique is difficult to use, especially in the Pasaggio. His voice seems to be that of a baritone, so you can imagine what a prowess it is to sing high and with such control of the twang and raspy voice, and no matter how much technique he has and even if it doesn't damage his vocal cords singing like this is a huge expense of energy. I think it's simply difficult for him to maintain that pace at his age and he prefers to do it like he does now.
Funny how people made fun of his voice in this but I’m here wishing he sounded like this today

The Chicago Bulls are still The Bulls year after year, even though the players change. Bands function the same way, and while you may not like it (and refuse to accept it) this is reality.
I myself don’t always care for it depending on the band, but that doesn’t mean Van Halen without Mike Antony on bass isn’t Van Halen, it just means I prefer the past iterations.
Think about Iron Maiden, think about Megadeth. There are plenty of bands whose original lineups did not create their most famous work. Life is complicated, not everything is ideal 👍

You should read Duffs book It's So Easy and find out how many times Axl was late, no showed , or walked off stage in a hissy fit when they were at their peak
Saw them live thrice (93, 12, 21). I was disappointed in the last one because i thought he put his heart in GnR this time. Dude didn't even hire a vocal coach. I know he's in his 60s but he should know that he's singing rasp and not just ordinary songs. Sitting down while singing is acceptable
I'm a die hard slash fan, but lets be real here: the band sounds great in this performance. Ashba's guitar tone is absolutely KILLER!! overall, id say nice job.

Didn't have that Les Paul "tone" that Slash made into a GnR ™, yet I really liked the way this guitar lead played with the harmonies and added some fun, yet subtle enough, vibes to most of Slash's main parts and plenty of playful riffing in between. It didn't feel contrived one bit and yet was noticeable enough so that it allowed him 'play the part', yet also add a bit of flair. 4/5, 🌟

This band is incredible the guitarist with the hat on he is amazing what a guy it looks cool he plays a guitar like nobody else and he's just got it all massive that's a fun of that kid
He's DJ Ashba. He also played guitar for Sixx AM. When Slash and Duff returned to the band, Axl wanted DJ to stay, but he voluntarily left because he didn't want to take anything away from Slash's role. This GNR lineup featured two lead guitarists, where the current only has and only needs one - Slash.
