I had an 07 and just got rid of a 2011 last month. It’s really a fantastic, reliable and perfect sized vehicle for anyone. Lots of power and if you want more, it’s just a tune away.

@throughthegears789 What I don't get though is why don't a lot of car enthusiasts talk about these? This is no weak ass modern Buick or Honda with a wimpy ass turbo. It's a large 4 cylinder with a decent size turbo. I kinda like that it's underrated though. It keeps the prices down 😁

@@bricegraham8256 You know what I think it is? It's because it's a K23, not the typical K20 or K24. But what I have found is most K parts will swap right on. I know there are some guys out there that have done some crazy mods on them though.

@throughthegears789 Damn that's pretty cool. And yeah thay makes since. It is the only Honda/Acura production product to come with this particular K23 engine.

This 1st generation RDX is the perfect size. Starting with the 2nd generation Acura pulled a McDonald's and super-sized the RDX to a bloated Grizzwold-mobile. Nice job swapping out that interior; it looks very nice. I wonder whether Crutchfield makes an aftermarket stereo solution for this RDX, as that's definitely a weak point with older cars. I'm not much of an "infotainment" fan, actually I hate infotainment systems, but a good android compatible system for Navigation really freshens up an old car.
One question for you please - do you know the interior measurement from a closed hatch to the back of the front passenger seat when the front passenger seat is slid and tilted forward as much as possible? I'm hoping to purchase one of these and use it for car camping by building a platform of some type and sleeping inside the vehicle. I'm 6' tall, so I'm hoping that inside measurement is 72" or longer.
    Thanks

Hey! Thank you for the comment, and I hope you consider subscribing! I apologize for the delayed response, but I just went out and measured this dimension. When you put the back seat down, the seat bottom needs to fold forward for it to be flat. It sticks up from the floor of the read cargo area, creating a barrier. The dimension from the back hatch to this barrier is 5'2". However, if you leave the seat bottom in place, the rear seat back does not fold totally flat, but now you have 6'4" from rear hatch to the back of the front seat while in their forward most position. If you would like to see this, let me know and I can post a video for you. I am 6'1", and otherwise I fit perfectly everywhere else!

@@throughthegears789 thank you much! If I find a one or twoowner RDX with 100k -ish mileage I'm be very tempted.
I knew about the rear seat bottom limitation when folded forward, but I would simply remove it from the vehicle when car camping., and replace it with a plywood sleeping platform. 6'4" is an ideal length for my height!

If we run 87 octane we average about 22 mpg, but when we run 91 octane we average about 24mpg. Nothing special, but it's no bad. On the freeway alone it cruises around 27mpg.

I’d recommend using only premium fuel and the mpg depends on how you drive and idle time.
I usually average 14-18mpg on my 2009, because of the way I drive, but I can also get 18-25mpg when I try.

Using 87 I can definitely feel the difference in performance. Hesitation when launching hard from stop with occasional backfire before/during shifting. We have 92 here in Hawaii so I run that to get the best performance. As for mpg my heavy foot gets me 15-18 and 20-22 fwy
