- Sting Fans.....Bruce Springsteen Fans.....FEELIN' YOU!!! Making his debut on the channel to-NIGHT, we have Sting with a live performance of the Bruce Springsteen song entitled "The Rising". FULL DISCLOSURE: I am familiar with the original version of this song by the original artist/band. However, I have never heard this cover. Therefore I will not be reacting to, evaluating, or scoring the original song in any way. I will ONLY be reacting to, evaluating, and scoring this particular cover of the song. How's this one gonna go? Only one way to find out...

As a Bruce fan - I agree with you - this was the best of the 3 versions you covered
And if one of your patreons could request Bruce covering " Hung my Head" at Sting's Kennedy Center Honours - I'd think you'd find the situation reversed

Man, I've always found Stings voice to be silky smooth and effortless and this was no different. Great cover
I feel that Sting is way underrated by reaction youtubers so far. Glad to see you do one of his performances. Even more glad to go see him do a concert next week :)

(From Madison Square Garden 2000), (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher (From the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame 25th anniversary) Kitty's Back (From Perth 2014), and Spirit In the Night (from Rio Lisboa 2016). All amazing!

What What What? You get a a big Harumphhh. I think JFK's choice for the the two Springsteen versions were not the best. The Studio version from the album of the same name was better . So I get it.. I think I will join your Patreon and make THAT version my prioritized request for the month of March (snickering)
long thinking about which versions are the best. I personally love the Barcelona version, because of the power and intensity and of course there has to be one E-street band version in the schedule.

I agree, I prefer Sting's version. Great tribute to the great Bruce Springsteen.
I liked it and have no criticism of your scores David. One thing I'd like to say, maybe it's because I know too much as a Springsteen fan but I'm not sure this is an "upbeat " song. It's completely about 9/11 and there's many ways to interpret the " rising " . Some are upbeat and some not so much. Rising to our best in spite of tragedy yes upbeat. Rising up the stairs in buildings about to collapse not so much. Rising to your call to duty ? Idk maybe somewhere in between
They Stood up for Aretha when she sang "Natural Woman" Now THAT was an epic performance.
While I agree that Sting’s voice is great in this performance, I feel he did not capture the essence of this song.
As much as im trying to like it, its too poppy for me, theres no soul here, btw it shouldnt be upbeat all through, tone is all wrong, Bruce vocals match da song much better... someones missing the meaning behind the lyrics.....this version is a distant 3rd for me!
