One of the many great things about mountain biking is that it's still more about the rider than the bike. You guys are amazing. Love watching you follow Mears, Sears et als. That said, you guys also have some really nice bikes :)
Its all about the driver, not the car...... That said, we are very fortunate to have the latest and greatest in carbon wonder-bike technology. Thanks for watching!
Gunny is one of my favorite trails. I wish I could ride it as fast and clean as you guys do, but alas.... I am glad that you stopped to check out the dinosaur bone - that's a feature that you don't find on every trail.
This is the next best thing to being there, as I am sitting in my living room in Connecticut, looking ahead to another day of teaching high school by remote control and fantasizing about a week-long mountain bike trip to Colorado when this is all over. Thanks for the diversion! Great video!
Yet another epic #FollowCamFriday, man! I can always look forward to great videos from yourself and BKXC on Fridays. They make my post-work dinner THAT much more enjoyable. :D
Love the "motivational" vids. Gunny's Loop it is today. Granted it will look a little different as I link recoveries across the side on the hill but SUPER fun nonetheless. See everyone on the trails.
Those kinds of trails are the best. Please tell me Noah Sears loves that Pivot Switchblade. I am thinking of upping from my S. Camber to that bike hopping it is as good as the hype. Nice follow cam Friday as always and Happy new year!
So that looks like a Switchblade 29ner that Noah is riding, is it? That and the SB5.5 are at the top of my list for a new ride. Any personal recommendations?
I am obviously going to tell you to get a Yeti, as I race for them and Noah is going to tell you to get a Pivot as he rides for them... Honestly, you can't really loose. Great time to be a mountain biker. The modern trail bike is nothing short of amazing.
Looking on MTB project the "gunny loop" is not a loop but feeds into other trails. I am headed out to GC/Fruita next month and was wondering which trails you were on that had all that flow? Also great work on the videos my wife and I love them.
Thanks for watching! This was all shot on the Gunny Loop, which is basically a shuttleable descent, or you can pedal back up through the Lunch Loop trail system. Endless ways to do it. make sure you ride Free Lunch and Holy Cross too. Hope that helps, have a great trip!
Thanks for watching Kyle. I have been enjoying the Colorado high country riding the most lately. I live at 9000' in Summit County and the alpine singletrack near me is pretty special.
I bet the Skiing's not bad either! Ill have to check that area out. I grew up in the San Juans (Pagosa Springs). I've ridden and skied around there and Durango all my life, but havent ventured far past Wolf Creek or Purgatory. Now in the Sierras in Cailiforna (Mammoth/Tahoe), riding and skiing is rad here. Maybe see you at a BME event next year!
The skiing here is okay. I find the San Juans more interesting really. I also really like the summer high country access near Durango, some of the finest alpine singletrack anywhere. We have it pretty good in Colorado and the Sierras are amazing too! See you at the BME's for sure!
Durango high country is bad ass! I'm fortunate enough to live there. Have not explored high country in northern Colorado. It's on the list though. So many places to ride.
Yeah, Durango is hard to beat! That section of the CT from Silverton to Durango is my favorite! Maybe Ill see you on the trail! Headin back there soon for some back country skiing!
Thanks for watching James. I try to always play it live and let the rider I am chasing do their thing. I think this approach makes for the best end result. It shows the riders true skill set and style like nothing else can. It's always a fun game for me to, trying to chase some of the more talented riders in the world on their favorite trails. Engaging to say the least.....
Happy New Year to you too. My 2017 cycling resolution is to ride with you! haha... perhaps our paths will cross in Moab this Spring with Shuttle Driver.
In fact just found this in another of your videos, www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0025UEQQW/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=youtubecha0d7-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B0025UEQQW&linkId=c79c113cb0a0e7c6d02943d5301c5073 so does this let the gimbal clip in? cheers!
I use two styles of gimbal, one with the battery wand and also the "wearable version" . They both attach with GoPro mounts to the Chesty. With the wand version, I run a second strap on the bottom of the wand, at my waistline.
2 questions. 1 are you clipped in or on flats usually? 2. Would the Megatrail bike suit the kind of riding that you do or is it too much bike for your taste? And as a side note, impart of your skills to the aspiring peons like myself! ;)
I always run clips unless I am on my dirt jumper. I don't know a ton about the Megatrail but a longer travel bike is preferred on some of the rockier trails in Grand Junction. Thanks for watching!!
Noah and I have ridden a fair amount together and have a similar eye for trail. I rode BMX as a kid, but have been ridding mostly mountain bikes for the last 20 years. I do enjoy my time at the dirt jumps.
I thought you were an old BMX'r the way you are finding stuff to jump. So stoked I found your channel today. I'm looking forward to watching all the vids while the weather stinks here. Too wet and cold to ride.
Usually trying my best to stay off of the ground. Life is cheaper that way :0 That said, I do have a handful of interesting moments. Thanks for watching!
Another fun ride and awesome footage. Wish our trails were as open and flowy as these trails. Here in Vermont we pack 20 miles into 40 acres as most trails are on privately owned land. Great for developing cornering skills and tree dodging !! East Burke Vt has some nice flowy trails (Kingdom Trails) if you come out my way those are a must do !! Some of my AARP rookie footage: ruclips.net/video/Hntm_KuxwRE/видео.html
Love me some janky east coast riding. I grew up in Mass and miss that style of trail at times. I definitely need to do an east coast trip. All I have ridden out there in the last ten years is the Highland bike park, and that place is amazing! Definitely heard good things about the Kingdom Trails. Thanks for watching!!
My lunch loop is more like an interval training session. 1 hour gets me about 12 miles of small climbs, small descents with 600 feet of elevation (aggregate) gain. On the positive side it is less than a mile from my front door. Really enjoy your #followcamfriday.
Sounds an awful lot like my local, I've found it's fun to find a feature or cool section of trail and just session it. Think outside of the box and ride all of the possibilities
Great suggestion. I get all caught up in making sure I log so many miles and grinding through the session. I need to stop and find a little gem to work on.

Hahah, glad that Noah pointed that Dino bone out, I had never seen that before.
i love that you ride everywhere. some youtubers just stick to the local trails but I enjoy watching these videos
Trying to get as much traveling done as possible, thanks for watching!
Another great #FollowcamFriday, Mr Hills. What a great trail: fast and flowy meets rocky chunder. Thanks for all the great edits and happy New Year.
Thanks for watching this year Richard, happy New Years to you as well.
This is the next best thing to being there, as I am sitting in my living room in Connecticut, looking ahead to another day of teaching high school by remote control and fantasizing about a week-long mountain bike trip to Colorado when this is all over. Thanks for the diversion! Great video!
Hang in there amigo.
@@natehills9388 Thanks! Things are calming down here which is helpful.
after riding Gunny a few times... It's definitely my favorite trail (so far) in GJ!
you guys SLAYED gunny...
Love me some Gunny! Got to race this one a few weeks ago.
Nate Hills - don't be so modest... you not only raced... you won!
I had a good run, haha.
The Crashing Dad thinking of moving to grand junction around this time next year. How is the job market?
Yet another epic #FollowCamFriday, man! I can always look forward to great videos from yourself and BKXC on Fridays. They make my post-work dinner THAT much more enjoyable. :D
Thanks for watching my videos in 2016, happy New Years!!
Love the "motivational" vids. Gunny's Loop it is today. Granted it will look a little different as I link recoveries across the side on the hill but SUPER fun nonetheless. See everyone on the trails.
Damn... your homie throws so much style into the ride! Don’t see much of that in these types of vids... gets me hyped to rip a trail for sure.
Noah is pinned!
Love this one dude. So flowy and you're workin that front tire! Hope to see you in Breckenridge again this winter. Robin
Cheers! Quite the winter we are having.
Very nice man... See you next year...Happy new Year and a Lot Bike for us...!!!
Thanks for your support this year Jeffer, Happy New Year!
Pretty cool trails. I love watching your videos.
Thank you. Fun trails indeed!
Love all your videos man! Keep it up, killer riding and killer trails!
Thanks for watching!
Those kinds of trails are the best. Please tell me Noah Sears loves that Pivot Switchblade. I am thinking of upping from my S. Camber to that bike hopping it is as good as the hype. Nice follow cam Friday as always and Happy new year!
I sure do! Bike of the Year according to Vital MTB....and me too! Thanks for watching!
No! Get a Yeti, hahah. Just kidding. Noah seems plenty comfortable on his rig! Happy New Year, thanks for watching!
nice flow. Happy New Year. Love the videos
Has the same gimbal done all this years fantastic footage? Which btw just the stills on the playlists would make great canvases! HNY
looks fun

That turn at 4:10 was amazing!!
It's a tricky one!
Hi Noah, Awesome riding!!! What's the rig you're riding? is that the Switchblade?
Noah is indeed riding a switchblade.
ENVE wheels with a 157 rear hub?
Not sure about the spacing on the Pivots.

Allways look forward to Fridays to see where you've been rippin! Where's your favorite place to ride in CO?

you should mention which bike you are riding in each video. do you have preference to the 4.5?
I ride my 5.5 and 4.5 equally, terrain dependent. Love them both.
The N and N do it again, nice vid!
Haha, thanks for watching our shenanigans this year!
Really enjoy these vids, Nate. Just curious, do you ever have to tell the guys in front to slow down? You guys are flying!
Thanks for watching James. I try to always play it live and let the rider I am chasing do their thing. I think this approach makes for the best end result. It shows the riders true skill set and style like nothing else can. It's always a fun game for me to, trying to chase some of the more talented riders in the world on their favorite trails. Nate, what bar and what size stem do you run on ur Yeti?
I am running Truvativ carbon Descendant bars on all of my bikes in 750mm
Awesome!Amazing!!!
Thanks for the great year of videos! Looking forward to 2017.
Thanks for watching all year Derek! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too. My 2017 cycling resolution is to ride with you! haha... perhaps our paths will cross in Moab this Spring with Shuttle Driver.
Haha, nice! I will definitely be around in the spring in Moab with Shuttle Driver. It would be fun to grab a lap.
Do you have a link to the chest gimbal nate? Epic footage, and what go pro is it?
Check out my video description for some links, thanks for watching!
Thanks Nate, where does the tube/handle part of the gimbal go, do you have a chest strap that accommodates that?
In fact just found this in another of your videos, www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0025UEQQW/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=youtubecha0d7-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B0025UEQQW&linkId=c79c113cb0a0e7c6d02943d5301c5073 so does this let the gimbal clip in? cheers!

thanks again Nate, would make a good video one day showing off the setup up close :- )
I love watching my switchblade in action!
man that was sick!!!
no stopper section?
what bike you on Nate? And are you running fox or rock shox? happy new year.
I am riding my Yeti SB5.5c here. I am a SRAM athlete and run RockShox suspension as such. Happy new year to you!
2 questions. 1 are you clipped in or on flats usually? 2. Would the Megatrail bike suit the kind of riding that you do or is it too much bike for your taste?

You rock and thanks for the reply!
Heard you puffing and thought the must be some steep climbs in it. I checked the Strava segment and now I realise why you were puffing. lol
Just a little bit of cry-breathing going on here....
Ugh. Looks like life in Colorado is super rough😑 Nice ride Mr. Hills.
Nate here's an idea. Make an interactive map and have pop up pins with video links to ur vids.
That is a wonderful idea!
NICE!
May 2017 bring more badass riding.
Dat helmet tho!
So Nate, who's faster you or Noah? :P Cheers boss, keep it up.
Faster? At what? Beer drinking?
well of course... :]
#LessBrakesMoreBeer
Brian Hayes Precisely.
Nate you and Noah are pretty in sync with your riding. Makes the video's interesting.
Did you BMX before MTB?
Noah and I have ridden a fair amount together and have a similar eye for trail. I rode BMX as a kid, but have been ridding mostly mountain bikes for the last 20 years. I do enjoy my time at the dirt jumps.
I thought you were an old BMX'r the way you are finding stuff to jump. So stoked I found your channel today. I'm looking forward to watching all the vids while the weather stinks here. Too wet and cold to ride.
Always jump everything, haha! Thanks for watching!
seems like u guys never crash, would be cool to see a blooper video with some crashes, just so we know your normal
Usually trying my best to stay off of the ground. Life is cheaper that way :0 That said, I do have a handful of interesting moments. Thanks for watching!
@Nate Hills, buy some mic fur man
Yup, forgot it in this one. Really makes a difference.
rad

Amazingly engaging trail system here that is easily accessible, perfect for a lunch time rip!
