HTB is my all-time favorite trail, hands down. I've slowly mastered almost all parts (or at least I thought I have!!), but you and you and Noah ride it like I never even dreamed. Wow! I am but a child. Beautiful, expert riding. I guess I have much work to do.
Awesome! It's like I was watching you chase a candy corn.
Matches your handle picture.
So fun! Watched this yesterday and then rode Horse Theif this morning. Thanks for the upload!
One of the Favorites!!!
Incredible to see you guys ROLL down that connector section in the beginning. That is some insane tech, well done!
Hit Mary's, Steve's, Horsethief, and Wrangler yesterday for the first time and I am in love with that system!
Great video, thankyou!
Man you guys made that technical descent into the trail look easy...I had trouble even walking down there with my bike lol.
You guys made that step up at 4:11 look way too easy. Hell, you make the whole dang trail look way too easy.👍
I went to horse thief trail with my family one of the best trails I’ve ever rode.
That's was madness, you guys shred so fast it feels sped up! Love the additions of a bit of life behind the riding.
So you like beer too? haha!
Gotta say Nate great video that trail ROCKS 👍
Love the scenery, awesome vid!
I just rode this thing these guys make it look easy. I've never ridden a more dangerous technical trail unbelievable how well these guys rode Kudos for sure !!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Hauling the mail for sure!
This is a pretty good channel. No stupid music to ruin realism.
Trying to keep it real for the people, haha.
Another reason to love Fridays. Thanks for doing what you do and inspiring us to ride!
And thanks for watching!!
sick riding, definitely one of the funniest trails ive ridden so far keep up the good work nate!
Cheers!
One of the best rides in this area.... Also one of my all-time-favorites. I'm looking forward to ride it again next year!
Btw: The drop-in lookes super-easy on your shot... Wich absolutly is NOT the case. My deepest respect, dude!
Yup, love this loop. And yes, the gimbal and GoPro make it look WAY too easy... Thanks for watching!
At 2:20 i'm like I don't even see a trail.....you guys rock and your videos are awesome to watch.
Thanks for watching!
Está buenísimo tu video, buenos singles tracks.
Sick trail, solid lines!
What a beautiful and fun trail.
One thing is for sure!!! You have the most skilled accompaniment!!!!!
I am lucky to have some talented friends to ride with.
Way to make nice work of that super tech drop-in! I've never cleared it on my 26" but the right side does look like that best path. Excellent riding.
Fun project for you!
Nate, your videos just keep getting better and better. Keep up the great work, and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the compliment Mike, merry Christmas to you as well!
So awesome, man! You dudes look like you have too much fun!
Keeping the stoke high for the people, haha!
Sick! I'm always amazed by your videos! :D
Best bike sub on RUclips. Great locations and crazy skills. I will admit I took joy seeing you finally walk the bike at 5:53 - nice to see an edit showing humanity. I was beginning to wonder if you ever dismounted.
Haha, thanks for watching! Here is what it looks like to ride up this section- facebook.com/vtopo/videos/10154732932089255/ Trials at best, wish I was better at that sort of thing.....
Sears shreds it on that switchblade 💪🏻
Lots of style👍🏻
Thanks!
So much love for this trail.
One of my all-time faves for sure. Looks like it just took on some snow...
Always putting out excellent videos and this one is even more excellent. Merry Christmas !
Thanks Greg, merry Christmas!
Cool videos!!
The drop in looks like it has evolved. The climb out still a tuffie. Counter-clockwise is fun too!
you finished on Wrangler? We used to call it "the old way".
Fridays are always better with a little Nate. Merry Christmas fellas.
Thanks Joey, merry Christmas!
Very enjoyable guys, Merry Christmas
Same to you Mike!
Nice one 👍thought we was gonna have to go without. 🎄from🇬🇧
The follow cam Friday train never stops.... Merry Christmas, thanks for watching my videos this year friend.
No, I can't clean the drop in...but I know the trail well and you guys have MAD skills!!
Damn, you guys were ripping! Good stuff
Thanks!
Just found this channel and your videos are awesome! I just got into mountain biking with my friends last year and I absolutely love it! Us girls want to go to Moab one day soon. Thanks for not overlaying music too, I love to hear the tires on the dirt : )
Thanks for watching! You girls definitely need to make it to Moab, so fun.
Yep, still rewatching great edits.
Just rode Horsethief Bench for the first time yesterday, and that first boulder section is way harder than it looks! The first 2/3rds of it is pretty manageable, but it gets seriously technical thereafter. Kudos!
Yup, the crux is after the bench.
Mears & Sears? Great ride, you guys rip!
Such a great ride, and what a great pizza place too!
P.S. - I wish I were as fast as you guys...
Great Video as always, lets do some video in Europe next Year!
Good save in the end of the video.
Pushing the limits. Sweet
Nice! That climb-out starting at 3:55 is not easy.
Ripping man, that first part of the trail, you guys had it on a rail.
That first part is amazing, so fun to ride.
Mountain biking rules!!!
Love that trail. (I cannot clean the drop in)
Man, this one was so good because I rode out there a few months ago. Giving me some serious fuel for the fire so I don't get completely embarrassed when we eventually ride together.
BKXC Brian and Nate in a video together?!?! I'm holding you to that!
don't ride with these guys bro! they pretend to be average, common riders but they're actually pros! think of them as wolves dressed in sheeps clothing!
I am sure you will be just fine friend! Wishing you a Merry Christmas!!
Thanks bud! Make it a great one!
You must ride debeque Colorado it's like slick rock the ribbon highline and captain ahah
Dude you make that look easy.
For real! That drop in is GNAR and they made it look like nothing.
Awesome riding! Marry cristmas from Greece!
Thank you, same to you!
Thank you my friend!
Holy shit! I didn't think Mears could wreck. That was a close one.
Nate Hills, I love you
Thank you Brett. Awkward, but thanks. hahaha!
Amazing trail, thank you. I could ride about 40% of it lol.
Haha, thanks for watching.
Smashy goodness. A few line choices made Santa's sphincter tighten. Much better now though.
Glad I could provide that experience for you ;)
Made my friday
Thanks!
Nate, you killed that initial descent. Awesome stuff. I really hope you continue these throughout the winter, as they are the internet highlight of my week ever Friday and have kept me sane this winter so far. Question for you - do you have a lot of experience on this/other trails you post videos of, or are you riding them blind?
Thanks for watching Kevin! I probably have 6 or 7 laps on this particular trail. While I always enjoy riding trails for the first time, the most, there are only so many trails...... The search continues!
Noah and Nate are so pinned!
Dope AF
Thanks yo!
I'm not even sure how to build up to do that drop in! That's intense!
But if you stick it, you get high fives from the girls.....
Mears, Sears, and then some beers.. 'cause that's how you do.
Damn straight! How we do.
Hey Nate, what forks are you running on your Sb55? And why? Thx. Same with the rear shock.
I run Lyriks on all of my bikes. I prefer the chassis stiffness to the Pike platform. On my 5.5 I run a 160mm with 3 tokens and 85psi. Same on the rear, Monarch Plus debonair on all bikes.
So, there's Kyle Mears... Noah Sears... Please tell me there's like... an Evan Beers. xD
Great riding! Much like; very thumbs up! :D
Haha, I only ride with people that have names rhyming with BEER! Much thanks, very Christmas! ;)
Merry Christmas, man!
Cheers!
Long ears.
As always great videos! Curious what foods you have in that cooler, besides the beer? lol
Beer and yogurt.
I see some kind of wrap, what's in the jars? looks yummy!
0:47 = cornering clinic
0:52 = steeze clinic
Noah Sears doin work!
Nice vids Nate. Hey what tires you running on that 5.5?
Maxxis 2.5 Minion exo front and 2.3 Agressor DD rear. Perfect combo for this sort of thing.
Hey Nate....great video, as always! We got rained out on our chance to hit Fruita on the way back following Outerbike in October...bummed. We made one run down Joe's Ridge in the rain with about a 35 mph wind in our face, which sucked, a lot. Reason I was reaching out was gimbal related. I have the Feiyu Tech, which I already know is on your poop list. What I do like about it, is I can manually tilt it downward slightly to make it think "level" is actually a little lower than the horizon, so that way the viewers can see what I'm riding down,. but it still gives plenty of view of the trail in front as well. I noticed that you leave your camera angled higher. My question is....does the Evo gimbal also offer the option to manually "re-set" the tilt? I have been lucky to this point with the Feiyu's, but when they crap out, I'll need another option and I like the idea of Oregon service versus "the black hole" that is China's service on anything. Thanks, and keep shredding! Love seeing you and your buds hammering the trails.
The EVO ss wearable does offer the tilt and stay feature, which I do use frequently on steep sections. If I know an extended steep section is coming up, I reach down and tilt the camera down, on the fly. I mostly use the EVO G4 and it has a joystick that can be manipulated on the fly as well. Full danger status taking one hand off of the bars at certain times, haha. And yes, the Chinese CS is indeed a black hole. Well worth a few bucks extra to be able to speak with a human if an issue arises. Thanks for watching! Better luck on your next Fruita trip!
Thanks for the response. I just wish I'd reached out a little sooner before I bought the second Fieyu about a month back. Ughhh... Now I have two of them, and I guess I'll just hope I get lucky for awhile. Take care!
I also learned the hard way and went through a few units before going in a different direction. The Feiyu stuff works great.... when it is working, I just couldn't deal with the language barriers associated with Chinese customer service. Happy filming!
I know you have a bunch of different Yeti's, which one did ride for this trail?
I was riding my 5.5c for this one due to the smashy nature of the trail.
I watch these bike vids double speed, just to imagine what's possible...
When are more bike reviews coming out?
Colorado my state :D
Hi Nate, Awesome vid. What's your setup for shooting like this? looked at your gear but was wondering about the use of a gimbal. Merry Christmas.
Thanks for watching. I attach a gimbal to my chesty harness to get these shots.
Way to keep it pinned! Awesome video Nate.
Thanks for watching Dan!
What settings do you use for your GoPro?
This was filmed in 4K 30.
hey Nate what about your trip to south america, did you film it?
The link to your camera gear page in the description is broken
Thanks for the heads up on the link! I have some edits to make from my travels to Bolivia and Mexico, stay tuned friend!
Awesome! Merry Christmas!
Great videos man, I discovered your channel last night and must have watched 5 in a row. You guys shred hard and the quality is superb. Btw, how the heck do you get the quality so good and crisp on RUclips?
Binge watching..... perfect, haha. I shoot everything in 4K and upload it as such. RUclips still compresses it a bit, but good quality, in relative terms, remains. Thanks for watching.
I guess what I'm mean is, after you're done editing your fottage (which is really good too), what codec are you using to export and create your final quicktime or mp4 file for upload to RUclips?
I normally export directly to RUclips from iMovie in 4K. Nothing fancy.
Cool, thanks for the tips brother. Stay shredding!
nate do you set your fork up for fast rebound? Do you like it with more psi or less? Last question, do you work for Yeti? Merry Christmas
I normally run my rebound a couple clicks faster than the middle setting. I prefer 85ish psi in my Lyrik. I race full time for Yeti. Merry Christmas friend!
Merry Xmas Nate
Thanks Vlad, same to you friend!
Nate Hills fuck the holidays..get yo fat ass to the PC and edit some videos mate xD
merry Christmas, keep up the great work. By the way I had my first fall this weekend here in AZ. Scratched my legs with pedals but ride must go on. :)
Merry Christmas! A little blood is okay, just try not to break anything ;)
man whatta fucking nice trail
hey Nate any pointers for pedals not to get stuck on rocks?
More speed? haha, that is a tough one. Metal likes to stick to rock.
I like it, more speed it always good. I think that's what saved me as my right pedal got stuck briefly on a rock going downhill I flew of my seat and was caught by handlebar, my fat ass pushed the back up and "unstuck" me. But I got bruised pretty bad including legs. So probably should not pedal downhill and let gravity carry me :)
If you see sparks, you are doing it right! Haha Hit those rocks like you mean it!
Your right time to man up! lol
Amazing video. One question is looks like some places are real steep and if you fell you would fall for a very long painful time. at 6:24 looks like the tire is warped just the angle I guess.
Thanks for watching. Yes, if you fall off, you are gonna have a bad time;)
Thanks for putting up the videos. Always enjoy. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you!
Ha! Nice, as always ...Are you running platform pedals or SPD's? (Specifics, please... ) Thanks! : )
I always run clips, unless I am riding my dirt jumper. How about you?
Nate Hills ...I use clips, but just got some platforms to session techy stuff with; too many slapstick comedy low-speed rocky/rooty crashes due to inability to clip out fast enough... : /
It is definitely a great skill builder to run flats from time to time. I should switch back and fourth more. Much easier to feel confident when you can throw your rig away if things go bad.....
Are you planning on doing any enduro race POV?
My camera rig is a bit much to race with. Track previews for sure, but I can't ride 100% with the gimbal strapped to my chest.
Interesting handlebar setup. Backwards?
Or camera distortion maybe.
Just normal bars with stickers on them. Run yours differently?
Looks like it's the camera distortion. Great vids!
Just curious, we saw just under 7 minutes of a ride that lasted/took how long?
You guys were working hard "Shredding uphill!"
You can hear me cry-breathing, chasing Noah. The fastest time around this loop is about 20min. 30 for most. Its fun to do a couple of laps and there is also a ton of other trail to ride in the area.
Yikes at 6:11!
That drop looks like it has had a little cleanup work done to it since I was last there umpteen years ago. Or are these guys just that good?
Nope, rougher than ever fortunately.
Then you guys are awesome. Is it be the beer?
Perhaps we can credit the beer for this one, haha!
Thanks. I am always looking for an edge or a way of improving my biking skills that does not involve strenuous activity. Beer it is!
Cool. Do you prefer grand junction or moab?
That is a tough one, they are both highly entertaining. Probably Moab because there is high-country riding there too, in addition to the desert trails. More variety I suppose... Which do you prefer?
Nate Hills ive only been to moab... So moab i guess. judging from your vids though i prefer grand junction
Grand junction is definitely worth a visit. Love them both. They are only 90 miles apart, it is relatively easy to do both in one trip. 1.5 hour drive.
damm I wish my gimbal didn't brake, this looks awesome as usual...
Finicky little bastards, aren't they......
Very true, and expensive to fix!
I always travel with spares..... That said, I have had good luck considering they are not really made for mountain biking, or crashing on, haha.
I probably need to carry spares because my luck isn't very good. The second time I took out my gimbal for a ride, I landed right on it lol. Now its been very difficult to reach out to the company that makes it and get it repaired... :(
And this is precisely why I recommend you buy an EVO gimbal. Their customer service is top notch and they are located in Oregon. I had a really hard time dealing with Chinese customer service as well. So much wasted time. I like to crash on mine every once in a while too....
What do you use to edit your vids!
Edited in iMovie.
Herefordshire Huckers easiest way I like it 😂
Man Colorado is gonna take all my money between boarding and now mountain biking... Maybe time to move....
Could be cheaper to live here in the long run....
not only does this speak highly of your sponsors.... but damn... I think it endorses whatever bikes Noah decides to ride...
Not even sure how our bike hold together, considering the beatings that we dish out on the daily. Honored to work with the best companies in the business. Keeping my bike working smoothly ;)
Thanks! I ride for Pivot - their Switchblade is the bee's knees.
Noah Sears nice!
...this is where we let the Yeti vs Pivot trolls take over...
can you please make some skiing videos?
I ski a ton and have been entertaining testing the waters out with that idea. Unfortunately, must people that love to ride have much hate for the snow. Definitely on my radar.
nice and nice pilsener
So thirsty....
Probably would have been a good idea to ask if the rider at 2:35 was good...?
3:40 !
have you ever met any subscriber during your #FollowCamFriday?
I get called out all of the time lately, and I am always flattered. I guess I am easily recognizable with a gimbal strapped to my body.....haha! Happy holidays friend, as always, thanks for watching.
you're almost a VIP, ahahah. Merry Christmas bro
cheers
Merry Christmas friend!
