I own two 5D MkI and recently I found a 6D MkI in mint condition, with 24K shutter actuations. I can't believe my eyes!! It has all the features that I miss in the 5D, like processing speed, a good back screen, and a very good dynamic range, still having that creamy film look of the pictures that it produces. Thanks for your video. Greetings
Love the 6D. I was shopping around for one and managed to get a great condition one for just £200, so they are out there! I mainly use mine with the 40mm 2.8. Makes a great, relatively lightweight walk around setup!
Don't know about Canon stuff but one of my favourite cameras to use is my Nikon Z5. It's the cheapest full frame they do but its an absolute joy to use with outstanding results. I often think there's a sweet spot in any manufacturers line up when you get a to a good honest full frame body that just does thr basics well.
Picked up a 6D second hand earlier this year primarily for night/astro photography along with the Samyang 14mm F2.8 and its an absolute joy to use and gets great results
Nice to know, I've been using a little 200d since June 2019 for nightscape(see profile pic)but i am constantly looking at the 6d as an upgrade even though it's 6 yrs older than the 200d
@@mcdond2512 cheers mate will definitely be looking at lenses like that or the 22mm canon, i shoot at 14mm and f2 with a Tokina 14-20mm f2 so it's up around 22mm full frame equivalent so a 24mm is on the radar
I had this camera when it first came out. Loved the colour profile. But M43 is where I live now with my Olympus E-M1 Mark III along with my Canon 5DC and 40mm f2.8 lens. For a treat, get the 40mm for yourself.
Cracking video Chris, I upgraded from a canon 550d to a 6d, recently purchased a micro 4/3 lumix g80 as my everyday carry. Still love my 6d though, especially for astrophotography.
it is an amazing camera. I broke one of those - accidentally let it dive into a lake :( and after thinking a while bought another one (second hand) to replace the first one. Love it very much.
I bought mine new when it came out. Still using it 10 years later, just recently got DXO Pureraw 3.0 and it has “turbocharged” the RAW files extending the usability of this camera. Of course the AF capabilities are limited so it just depends on what you use it for but the highly capable centre focus point helps. I use mine for general purpose Street, portraits, events, carnivals. I use my 77D for more action related photography.
Wonderful camera. I went with its main competitor at the time, the Nikon D600, which has a cracking 24 mp Sony sensor. Since I got my EM-1 mark II with 12-40 f2.8 though, I haven’t shot a single image from my Nikon or my OM film cameras lol. But the amazing price/quality ratio of EF or F mount glass these days is astounding, I’ll never sell it.
I have a 6D mk II which people slate. I love it though and as I have no interest in video, it’s great for my needs. I can share my EF lenses between it and my old EOS 3 film body. Thats also quite the bargain new these days.
Great video ... But i still dont know what second hand full frame camera i should get for my all round needs park runs , running events and family photos .
I was going to sell mine last year. Then when I realized how much I would get for it. NOPE. Not for like $350-$500 CAD. Its worth more than that to me as a Canon DSLR. Its one of the best DSRL for money ever made by Canon.
i was canon full frame used a 6dm2 loved it but would take a real effort to make the move from my olympus/OM kit... have you ever attended the photography and video show?
HELP! Newbie question :) I have a Canon EOS 6D and need to film myself on camera. What are the settings to ensure I'm always in focus while filming since it doesn't have facetracking or a flipscreen. Do I need to get any speciifc gear or app to set this up? Thanks!
6D isn’t the best camera for video. I would make sure the aperture is between 5.6-8 depending on the light to give yourself a decent depth of field to try stay in focus.
Canon crop sensor cameras are not very good for high ISO. The only decent crop sensor is in the 80D/77D and usable up-to about 3200 in good light with careful noise reduction. It’s better to have two different cameras for birds and night photography. The 7Dmkii has the best AF of the crop sensors in DSLRs but nowhere close to the latest AF in the R7 mirrorless. Unless you have extremely high expectations or selling images commercially most of these cameras will get you decent image quality.

Thanks for stopping by. The 6D was always a favourite of mine and my first full frame camera.
I just got a 5D, but am thinking the 6D is probably the better camera.
I’ve been using my 6D more than my R5 or any of my Fuji’s lately

Lowlight beast, classic Canon color science, and nice in the hand. Love the 6D.
just ordered it for the 5th time. Everytime i sell the 6d, i regret it. Went to sony a7, a7ii, a7c. The 6d is a classic indeed

@robertleeimages just invested in a second hand Sigma 24mm f/1.4 Art for the 6D and can highly recommend as well

I currently use OM and Olympus and like them - but Canon remains the brand that is 2nd nature to me. Easy to use without having to think about it!!
I LOVE my 6D!! Just waiting for a new LCD, had an accident. I also have a 5D MK2...and a 70D. I really like older DSLR's. :)

Bought one a few months ago. Put a 40mm pancake on it. It's bullet proof.
Just don’t get water on it. The d pad on the back goes crazy. Known issue, I’ve had it too.

Output of this camera is something different like 5D classic.
Martin Castein says 6D is the closest you can get to the 5DC using modernish cameras...
I prefer my 6d over my r6 mkii when I don't need the fancy autofocus 🫡
I had the RP which is a glorified 6D Mark ii…. Preferred the 6D 🫣
Wow that’s says a lot.

Much appreciated

Oh so now you like my 6d? You’ll be back on FF before you know it😂
It would have to be a high resolution Sony mirrorless body for me to go back to full frame…
@@ChrisBaitson That makes sense if you can get one for a decent price 😁

Is the camera compatible with TAMRON SP 70-300MM/4-5,6 DI VC USD
I think this camara was made for long exposure photography 😊
It’s a great astrophotography camera to be fair.
I can't find this new camera anywhere. Please, does anyone know if there is still somewhere to buy a new one?
You won’t get it new now. Try eBay for a second hand one.

what do you suggest ( 6d m2 / 6d / 80d / 5d m3 ) want it for maybe birds photography and night high iso .. )
The 6D is awesome for high ISO. Birds I would look at a 7D.
