@@rachelsenglish: Rachel, only to say this. I've never heard this flap T in "party." I swear all that I hear is unvoiced T. Stopping this puff of air that comes from your lungs. Is it possible not to detect it since the flap T is not directly part of my native tongue and take it as stop T?
Yes...all of this make seems English too difficult...When We are speaking it si dificult to take all these tricks because we are looking for the words in our mind...grannar...structures... I know all this theory but to put all this together....is like a miracle ...just take a look of the quantity of details and time in some a few lines...it is going to take 40-50 years to learn the language. It would be Nice to know how yo learn a language but after studiyng phonetics 20 yeaes i hve understood that you have to be born in an English country.
For such a long time i was looking for a RUclips channel that teaches accent reduction in depth. Lucky to have found this channel. Please continue this series of accent reduction, it's very helpful. Also you are teaching it in a very easy way.
This is brilliant. The dialogue in 'Friends' is a case study in how the script sets up the response of each character like a basketball team passing the ball around to make the shot. Furthermore, the characters have to be so defined and singular that their responses are unique to the "music" of the "riff" being played. I DUG 'Friends' when it first aired, but catching it on ad infinitum repeats SINCE, I really appreciate the interplay of dialogue and the prompts within that made it LESS a situational comedy (don't get me WRONG: It was) and MORE about the love of language between disparate individuals in the 1990's and how they are compelled to express it.
❤ sounded so natural and this should be a goal for non native English speakers who want to speak English like native speakers. Love this awesome case study video and thanks so much Rachel
omg as a non-native speaker of English who also studies linguistics, your video is helping me learn transcription and American accent at the same time! Thank you Rachel!
Hi, Rachel, this is a terrific video that's what I needed chandler is such that he spoke very swiftly and don't understand without subtitles I enjoyed this video. Thanks
I'm an American and I never realized we did all of that. I've been trying to learn Spanish and sometimes it helps learning another language by understanding my own. It's weird but understanding stress and accents in my own language helps me hear it in another like Spanish because it shows me how to listen better.
It help me so much............ Thank u teacher!!! Learn English fast allows foreign people to understand all the words that are spoken, and search for the definition
you're one of my best teacher in the world. I've learned English so so much from you anyway, thanks for everything you've done🙏❤ I really appreciate this video so much it was really helpful for me. 🙏
Wow!! Thank you so much. This is what I have exactly been looking for. I think this video show me the way how to learn English and really helping me improve my English. Thank you
En pocos días que llevo en este canal ya voy mejorando mi "listening" esto me emociona y me motiva a seguir con más empeño, muchas gracias por el video.
You are the best teacher , thank you so much , I find some difficulties to pronounce" what are you" the flap t but you make everything clear I know I make many mistakes to speak and write english but I try to do my best
I will always be watching and enjoying your videos, as soon as I learn to speak fluent English, I will make an appointment to record a video with you.thank you very much ! Rachel's.
Thank you lady for your very good program on u.tube ,but i would like to point out that it is not very important for a learner of anew language to speak exactly like a native speaker as long as he or she speaks it with good prnounciation and correct grammer and can make himself or herself understood by other people and understand them as well iam from iran and i speak farsi i know that no foreigner can speak farsi as well as i do because farsi is my native tongue i myself taught English for almost thirty years and all this time i directed and encouraged my student to speak speak English correctly and helped them gain confidence when speaking the language , in my opinion putting too much emphasis on speaking exactly like a native one ,which is almost impossible for a grown up learner, ceates a mental block and obstacles in learning the taget language again i thank you for your good program on u.tube and i myself have learned a lot from you and still learning . Keep up the good work .
I could not hear "So what have you got there", instead, I thought he was speaking "So you got there". This kind of speaking has been most difficult to me in listening you. But your help works good. Thank you.

19:28 i.e. they just threw HAVE away , but I need to know that it should be there. How ? How can I learn a language if there are words in books, but in speech they are thrown out or merge into a couple of sounds? because of which it begins to seem to me that they said something different.
1 This is a place where there is to go . And This is a place where to go. 2 Everything there is to know . And Everything that is to know . I have made same sentence from two ways Both are correct or not Please reply 🙂🙂
