I reckon you did well to find anything at all with the detector Keith, the ground is so dry and that has to have an impact on the signals from the soil. Another nice video my friend, good to see that you're still going out when it's possible. All the best.
Thanks mate, yes your spot on, it's dry and not great for signals, the big iron was coming through though, I had to dig a few as good targets were few and far between LOL

The 2p could have been used as a target for shooting 22 rimfire at. Hence the misshape - would tend to leave a lead trace on the 2p though not all 22 rimfire is lead. It would tend not to penetrate from distances over 50m
Hi Kieth mate, You are still detecting, just not metal detecting, and the way the ground has been lately I don't blame you, like concrete...!!! But it is still interesting to find prehistoric items, and it gets you out. Take care mate Tom
Hi Tom, yeah I agree, detecting with the eyes eh. We've had some rain now but it's wet and windy this weekend, so in two minds whether to go detecting. I may have to wrap up and have another walkabout ! ATB MMMD
