This was actually kind of a quick death so to speak. The hawklet was fortunate the eagle went for it's head fairly early on in the proceedings ands was able to, mostly, rip it's face off with death following rapidly after.
This does not always happen. That is why there are many clips of vultures embracing the sons of hawks in their nest. Sometimes the male eagle brings the chicks of the hawks, and the female eagle cannot kill the chick as pity for him, so he raises it with her children. It was filmed
There are types of fierce eagles, you can say that. Such as golden eagle, harpy eagle, philippine eagle, martial eagle, etc. But the eagles that hunt from the water are less fierce and you find that they meet in many numbers, such as the bald eagle, the Steller eagle and the white- tailed eagle. The eagles I was referring to in my words are the eagles that hunt from the water, but fierce eagles are very natural to kill chicks without care. The strange thing is that the eagle that appeared in this clip is a white-tailed eagle. I didn't expect that he would kill this chick
I forgot to add that the ferocious eagles, the husband of them, owns a large land and does not accept that a stranger enters it. As for the less fierce eagles, they are not so aggressive, and that is why you find them meeting in some places. Of course, the more ferocious the bird, the more difficult it will be to train, but it will be better at hunting .
I do believe that this is true. Thank you for sharing your knowledge >it helps to establish my belief that there is an element of compassion with some species of birds-even raptors ✌️❣️‼️
I have seen that clip and no it's not mercy adaption. It was the result of a confused mother who happened to have eaglets the same age or size as a pray hawk chick. Mistakes happen. Even though they could be a lot sweeter for our taste.
Yes it's a kindness to be smashed by a peregrine in a stoop or a swift bite to the neck.. The stronger raptors have talons to hold you still whilst eating you alive.. Nature!🙄
Canibalismo total, barbaridad.
I can’t believe how long that poor little babe stayed alive so pity full to hear it’s the cry’s 😢

But 99.99% of the time they rip its head off and feed it to their offspring

such sht qualty for a 22 vid like it was done on a cam from the 90s
No, it's like a picture book from the "1890s" where you turn pages one by one.
Horrible video quality.

Footage from polish national park perhaps 😂

too cruel. the poorly placed camera 🚫
😢😢💔
It took 22 mins for that poor baby bird to die. You stop hearing the little screams. That's brutal.

😭😭😢🦅🐥 eagle💔
Tastes like chicken.
Lol
Hunter become hunted
