Dan! Glad that you enjoyed Garuda Indonesia’s domestic flight on their B777. Good thing that they keep the 3-3-3 configuration. I was surprised with the VGML, seems like a great option to try next time on my flight with them. Hope you can try their A330neo as well in the near future.. 👍🏻

I love how nonstopdan is actually honestly positive about economy-class flights.
I mean, it'd be all-too-easy to only do reviews on business class, or to rate economy food and seating as bad, just because you've gone business or first class so many times.
But no, he actually is able to genuinely review economy class and say that the economy seating or food is really good without saying in the same breath "... not as good as business class, though", or simply saying it's "alright".
Wulf899 I like him way better than Sam CHUI. Sam chui is way too fake about airline reviews.
@@ulayla1605 you're goddamn right about that. Sam Chui's reviews are useless if you're genuinely interested in what it's actually like. Not to mention, the cringeworthy staging of everything.
I flew with Garuda Indonesia from Jakarta to Padang in November 2017, it was a great experience, the crew was lovely, and the food was good, there was a lot of choice in term of inflight entertainment, even if it was a short flight on a 737-800. I'm glad that you enjoyed your flight with them too ☺️ send you a lot of love from Algeria 🇩🇿
Actually Garuda's top level management is in a quite big scandal that exposed just a few weeks ago caused by abuse of power by a few member of the B of D so that's why, as you said in the end of the video, that Garuda seems don't what they are doing. Since this is a state owned airline, the minister already fired several of them. We expect there will a be some replacement soon and we hope it's a good one

Those are Relaxa mint candies, they're common in Indonesia, you can find them in most convenience stores, my favorite is the grape flavor
You can also get them for free at the teller's desk in most of the banks 🤪
Hey Dan, they used to have drinks service on domestic flights where you could choose like juices or coffee/tea etc (even on a short 1 hour flight).
Also on flights that dont get hot meals (such as SUB-CGK) they used to hand out snack boxes + drinks service.
Theyve since cut down their budget so we no longer get drinks other than bottled water, and snacks handed out in paper bags (like youd get from mcdonalds).
I’d say it isnt worth it anymore flying garuda due to the high price and decreasing service.
And also.. Garuda nowadays is having so many" cases and scandals...

No matter how much I travel, Garuda has a special place (personally almost as equal as Qatar) as it has been part of so many personal milestones. Thank you so much for pointing out how good the food is, I didn't realise how spoiled I was until I didn't fly with them. Yes Dan, it is always like that, on the ground seems un-organized, happened with me many times, but once you are already in the plane, then Garuda is indeed a 5 star rated. The management is now being restructured, and am very sure that Garuda will be much even better with the "back on track" working spirit of the staffs after the new Board Members are appointed. You'll see ...

We just came back from a vacation in Bali and we connected in Singapore, so we flew Garuda's B737-800 in economy. Bulkhead rows. 2.5 hr flight and we also enjoyed it quite a bit. The crew are great. Good first impression.

Garuda has been a mess recently with the now ex-CEO, they've changed routes unexpectedly , did some quite controversial decisions like having live music acts on board, etc. But the CEO has been fired now by the State Owned Enterprises Ministry since he tried to smuggle bikes on a brand new A330-900neo on its delivery flight from Toulouse to Jakarta and the CEO has been the one causing all the mess and decline in Garuda and that doesn't even include the more personal issues such as how mistreated Garuda flight attendants with sexual harrasments and such. Thankfully, he's been fired now and we hope to see Garuda getting better again in the near future, hopefully with proper leadership

HA HA u are fussy, he got a meal on a 1 hour flight. Short flights like that in the USA get no food, stale bag of 4 tiny pretzels, soda if you're lucky. Airlines in the US are terrible and service is non existent
@@paulhartson1 Well that's a problem for USA's airlines, the service in the video might look good, but if you know the recent news about Garuda you would understand the mess that they were in. Just because you still get a meal on the flight doesn't mean everything is ok within the airline management itself

@Aquinaldo Sipayung Not too mention they've briefly served Hoka Hoka Bento onboard Business class for a short time, my mom went on a trip to bali domestic on a 737 , she was given a Hokben meal. A hokben meal..... in business class?!?

Relaxa is a popular brand of mints in Indonesia. I remember them even having TV commercials sometimes. Glad you like it! Thankfully you got one that isn't melted. With Indonesia's weather, sometimes mints melts slightly and it is nightmare to wrestle them from the wrapping.

Soekarno-Hatta T3 does not have announcements at the gate.... some airlines use a bluetooth speaker for their calls..... it's chaotic sometimes since gate changes occur often but are only displayed on the monitors and not announced or displayed at the gate.
Oh my god yes!!! Come back to Indonesia more often ✌we have so many airlines that's flying across our skies and plenty of exotic destinations to try outside of Java and Bali! And its all quite affordable too

Hey Dan! Those were RELAXA it's pretty popular candy here in Indonesia, and if you're still in Indonesia you can get those in pretty much every convenience store and it's super cheap (around 50 cent / bag)
you can buy the mint in some stores or supermarkets easily

I am indonesian.. its already 3 blogger mentioned that garuda is overrated themselves. Sam chui and josh cahil also mentioned overrated. Garuda as not as good used to be compare 2-3 years ago. The cost of the airlines fares has been reduce.. but the thing about indonesia market is eventhough overrated.. upper class indonesian still travel with garuda. My last flight with garuda on november 30 from singapore to bali. I seated in business class and only 3 seats empty. Most of the seats full and a lot of non indonesian passenger.
Bali (along with Singapore) flight was the most chaotic flight in my experience as a cabin crew in Garuda lmao so there will be no surprise hearing you saying the start was very chaotic.
the mint that u're eating is relaxa, it's an original Indonesian mints. I don't really like to eat those regularly but it tastes really good, couldn't find it anywhere else other than Indonesia so far tho, glad you really like garuda

Living in Sydney and visiting Bali (a 6hr flight) quite regularly I always fly Garuda economy and have always been comfortable with my decision for all the reasons mentioned in this video and especially the FA's who are friendly and accomodating and not too far behind those on Singapore Airlines. I have flown the same route a couple of times in Business (when they've had a special) and was impressed with the step up in quality on all levels.
DPS is quite busy so there is some circling at times!

Great video. I prefer to fly Garuda from Melbourne to Bali when l go. Economy is goodbut business class is better. I think Garuda are very underrated, they are a super airline to fly. Merry Christmas

I tried Garuda many times and I have to admit, they're quite inconsistent, sometimes the service isn't that good and sometimes it is really good, the catering onboard is delicious despite the portion can be a bit more imo but overall Garuda is great tho

The problem is ground staffs are not really enforcing the boarding scheme , plus when Indonesian in Indonesia they simply love breaking rules and don’t bother following it

Garuda has an internal problem , the former garuda ceo got fired because he smuggled harley davidson from europe fo jakarta. Also he found out that he had several cases such as one of stewardress was his mistres and used company mpney for her cosmetic surgery.

Asking because it is becoming obvious that air travel as it is now is a very high polluter on a global scale and in my mind everyone needs to do their part in turning this tide.
andrifsig yes I agree but he could start by flying more efficient craft like the Airbus Neo. Or Airbus A350-1000. 2 Airbus 350 planes use less fuel than one jumbo on the same route. If people don’t fly they will clog up the motorways and railways you can’t win ✈️😁🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸😂
