    Glad to see your fit to start the work again Barry, hope it continues to go well without too much weather getting in the way.
    Your long bit of steel on the van roof made me chuckle, many years ago I transported the 20 foot long aluminium mast home on
    the roof of my car, a very old (and rusty) Ford Anglia, the roof was never the same again 🤣

      I know one thing Val, shes definitely the best sea boat I've ever been on for her size, and I truly think it's all because of the ways she's been built, I know I'm biased, but the weather she can cope with out weighs what I can cope with these days.😂😂😂😁👌

    Gday mate always something to do and 9 out of 10 it costs ,i used that sikaflex on everything on my tub wont use silicon absolute cheap rubbish and terrible to try to get off ,we pay around 30.00 a tube here but its worth it in my eyes . After my last outing i have raised the engine 1 hole and seems to be better at higher speeds now that the cavitation plate is level with the hull ,still have to adjust the trim tab on the engine as it is turning to the right and getting a slight list which is part of not having it in the right spot so ill move it 10mm and see how that goes really its is trial and error until you find a sweet spot where you can let go of the steering and she will maintain a straight course .We are sitting on 4 days of around 40 degrees c here at the moment very unusual for this time of year and 38 days of no rain anyway take care captain .

    Hi Barry, interesting as always. Nice to see the top of the gunnel back to the shooting post getting covered. I asked this many videos ago as I couldn’t understand why you had left it unprotected (not that I know anything). I actually never thought that it would get as damaged in such as short space of time, as it did.

    Barry, why did you choose wooden gunnels (I like the look of them) and add stainless steel against the usual crabber style of glassed in gunnels? I am also interested in knowing why you didnt have the hull re-enforced with glass and strips like other pot hauling boat protecting the hull from damage. (I dont like the look of them myself.) Nice to see you getting on with the jobs before the season.

    • @onemanandhisboat
      @onemanandhisboat  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi James.
      As always, thank you so much for your comments and questions.😍😁👌
      I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm quite a traditional man. I like things the way they should be.
      When these boats were designed by the incredible Gary Mitchell, they were all done with wooden gunnels. (And I love them❤️😍😁👌😂😂😂😂) and for me they keep the shape of the boat, plus they add a little weight to them which makes them a better sea boat when built right.
      As for the fibreglass gunnels. For me, they took away the shape of the boat, increased the sheer, and for me, they are damn ugly.😂😂😂😂 but each to their own.😁👌

    • @onemanandhisboat
      @onemanandhisboat  8 месяцев назад +1

      Oops, sorry James, I pressed send before I was finished answering your questions.....sorry.🙈😂😂😂😂😂
      I have an extra layer of glass where the pots come up, bud.
      We have 3 layers of " staggered" 900oz chops strand matting and 3 layers of tissue onto that as well.
      The original plan wat to coat that area with a sheet of Stainless steel, but unfortunately the weight ratios were far too great for such a small vessel, so that's why we opted for the extra layers of glass.😁👌
      She's certainly taking a bartering over the last 2 years, and most of its been in the harbour, I'm afraid 🙄🙈
      And maybe a bit part of no time for maintenance due to building gear.
      But we will get her ship shape for this season.😍😁👌
      Enjoy your week ahead.
      All the best.😁

    • @jamesallen712
      @jamesallen712 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@onemanandhisboat I am a traditionalist too OMAHB. I like wooden gunnels and clean lines. The extra lay up for the pot area is well disguised. Hope the time give 'Lindsey B' the TLC she deserves ready for the new season.

      @onemanandhisboat  8 месяцев назад

      @jamesallen712 Good man! You can't beat a boat with great lines and a lovely sheer.😂😂😂😁👌
