That's a convicting hymn and pretty too! It's interesting how a few of the lyrics were a bit like from "Trust and Obey". I have struggled in laying my all on the altar this week. May God give me strength to keep on clinging to Him and trust Him fully.

Last evening in our prayer meeting the short thought that was shared by a brother tied in so well with this hymn, a hymn that none of us knew. I asked if the folks would like to hear what I felt was an appropriate hymn and they gladly agreed. It was appreciated by all and we were blessed by a time of prayer when the Holy Spirit was present in very real way.

The Hymn was translated in Portuguese unfortunately with serious diferencies from the original to the point of some doutrinar discrepancies so serious that I am trying to make a proper faithful translation to make honor to the autor and to be useful to all Christians! I translated the Portuguese to English again in the Google translator the Portuguese version:

Do you think that this translation is wright? In this one it gives the impression that "one laid all in the Altar" in "fervent Prayer" ! But in the original it seems to be the opposite "one in fervent Prayer" is not enough unless one adds "the Laying all at the altar of sacrifice" , self crucifying the mind of the flesh !
Am I right ??? Or not so ?
Please help me here it is important to really understand the message and make corrections on the Portuguese translation !

The Portuguese translation is not your fault obviously , I only add the translation of the Portuguese Version in Engiish because i think it is oviously , the Portuguese translation is very wrong ... but poetry is some how dificult to dicifer ! I will send you an E-mail , but I leave here the Portuguese translation in Portuguese , the feeling i have is that this translation betrais the original in English but i can be wrong ! The problem is that this is the translation used at the Oficial Hymnary ... and thei will never admit thei are singing it wrong for the last 75 eyars or more !???! So what can one do to restoring the original lyrics ??? Help me please !

In this Portuguese translation the "Fervent Payer" is joineted with the "All leaving at the Altar", but in the Original it seems that the "Fervent Prayer" is not enough, still needs the adding of the "Leaving All in the Altar" : this leaving all is the Practice of "Waiting Upon the Lord" , is not speaking is awaiting in silence , it comes from the practice of the "Mourners Bench" .
If we do not fully undearstand this subtil diference we will never get it wrigth!!!
